Stargazer's eyes widened when the NightWings arrived.

A hush fell over the arena. The SkyWing guards hovered up in the sky, hallway through unchaining the IceWings. All the dragons stared at Futureseeker, whose vast black form seemed to fill the whole arena. His darkness sucked up all the light around him.

He pointed to Stargazer and addressed Queen Comet. "This dragonet is ours."
"Ours who?" Queen Comet said. "We found her with the Talons Of Peace revolutionaries. Are you telling me the NightWings are changing sides?"
Prince Storm chimed in with a snarl. "Are you now allying yourselves with an underground peace movement instead of a real queen?"

Stargazer cowered under the gaze of the huge dragon.
"And I'm also a NightWing, just saying..." Battlebringer muttered.

Futureseeker glanced up at the sky, where a flight of black dragons were circling. "No." He said in a deep rumbling voice. "I come only to claim this dragonet as ours. We will take her and go."
"B-but what about the others?" Stargazer asked.
Iceberg hissed. "You can't take her! She's our friend!"
Battlebringer spread his wings in front of Stargazer. "You don't touch her! You're not taking her away!" He snarled at Futureseeker.

"Oh, will you?" Said Queen Comet.
Futureseeker's eyes glittered dangerously. "Do not anger the NightWings, sky dragon. Give us our dragonet." Queen Comet stamped her foot. "No! I want to see her fight IceWings! It's my hatching day!"
The NightWing's black tail twitched, just the tiniest bit, and all at once several NightWings came plummeting out of the sky.

Without a word or viable signal, the NightWings fanned out across the circle of prisoners. The SkyWing guards dodged out of the way, looking terrified. Each pair of NightWings fell on an IceWing prisoner, talons slashing. Within moments, all the IceWings were dead.
Their silvery corpse flopped across their cells. Bluish blood dripped slowly down the sides of the rock spires.

Iceberg roared as she watched her tribe die before her eyes, trauma building up inside of her. "Stop!" She yelled. Iceberg stood there in shock. For all she knew, one of those could be her parents or family members!

So much smoke was pouring out of Queen Comet's nostrils.

The large NightWing smiled coldly. "There. We've taken care of your IceWing problem. Now we'll be going."
He beat his wings once, lifting up into the air, then swooped down and grabbed Stargazer in his talons and soared into the sky.
"Stargazer!" Iceberg yelled.
"No! STARGAZER!" Battlebringer shouted.

She yelped, having been carried away. "Guys!!!!"
Futureseeker didn't even look down at the Dragonets. He soared off into the sky, carrying Stargazer with him.

"Guards!!" Queen Comet roared. "I will have one thing go right, today!" She fumed. "Fetch my champion. And clean up that mess down there." She swept one wing toward the arena.

Prince stormed looked too angry to speak. The royals watched in silence as the SkyWings hurried onto the sand and started dragging off the bodies of Gulf and the scavengers. Guards threw chains around Foeseer and Battlebringer, who submitted without fighting for once.

"As you all know." Comet said suddenly. "Yesterday, my champion, Sunset, offered to stand for the accused prisoner, Ash, in a champion's shield. She will now fight a dragon of my choosing, and if she wins, Ash goes free, if she loses, then I suppose I'll have to get a new champion."
Iceberg wondered who Sunset was going to fight. She glanced around the podiums.

She paused, expecting a reaction from the crowd, but nothing happened. "Oh, right. You think Sunset CAN'T lose. Well, it so happens we have a special guest today. A dragon whose scales are impervious by fire. Isn't that...terrifying?"

Guards seized Iceberg and was dragged into a tunnel, and Iceberg could see Comet's face.

Iceberg was stunned. She was going to fight Sunset.. She couldn't though.
