Chapter 1

Seven Years Later...
Part 1: Under the Mountain

Iceberg flicked her tail. "What are we working on today, Canyon?" she asked the SkyWing.

"For now, just simple dodges and how to attack as you dodge," Canyon said smoothly.

Iceberg nodded.

"The first dodge is for a SeaWing. It can be a simple duck or roll and side-step." As he finished saying this, he ducked, rolled forward quickly, and side-stepped.

Iceberg copied his movement, stumbling at the sidesteps slightly.

"SeaWings have no fire, yet they can blind you it's lights, so you should practice bursts of light with somebody, they can use fire if they clear the cave they are working in, they also have to have a guardian with them." He eyed Iceberg, making sure to warn if Iceberg messed up again.

Iceberg nodded. "Okay. They can use their tails as well though, can't they? I've read about a SeaWing cracking a dragon's neck with their tail."

"Yes, yes, I know." Canyon said, slightly annoyed. "As of now we're on the basics. You're still a dragonet, after all."

"Alright. So, how would I stop them from blinding me? Do I just close my eyes?" Iceberg shut her eyes tightly.

Canyon let out a rather large burst of flame, ending right past Iceberg's ear. "Don't close your eyes, or you can't see the attacks!" He was getting more annoyed then he wanted to be. "You use a wing to cover that side, but not too much or you can't see them."

Iceberg hissed in surprise, rolling to the right to avoid any more fire. Iceberg got up and shook herself, opening her eyes. "Right. Okay." she said.

"For the tail, quick thinking. If you can't duck, you can't survive an attack." He still had a angry-annoyed cross in his eyes.

"So, if a SeaWing gets their tail ready, duck, roll, or leap out of range. Choose the smartest option and show me," Canyon said.

Iceberg readied herself to dodge again.

Canyon circled Iceberg quickly, waiting until she looked confused, then swung his tail at Iceberg.

All of a sudden, Iceberg heard a hiss... Canyon yowled and looked behind him, to see midnight scales with hints of dark blue scales appearing...The NightWing-IceWing dragonet had bit hard on Canyon's tail. Her dark blue eyes glowed in the cave. She had a light blue belly, her IceWing spikes were pale blue. She also had midnight-colored wings.

"Foeseer." Canyon said, "You know we are training. I told Iceberg what to do."

Foeseer growled. "That doesn't mean you actually hurt them! And don't think about hurting Iceberg again! She could become unconscious!"

"Now, if you would like to watch, be quiet and sit over there. If not, then let us train. And you don't know how forceful that swing was. In fact, I'll demonstrate." Canyon swung his tail to Foeseer, batting her on the top of the head.

Foeseer groaned in the headache she got from the tail, she hissed again. "I will not watch if you hurt Iceberg again! And by the way, Snowflake told me that she needed to talk to you about something very important."

"Well, tell her it can wait until we finish the SeaWing defense lesson."

Foeseer soon grabbed Canyon's tail tightly. "Don't you dare hurt Iceberg again!"

"Hm. You show that to Iceberg. Do some light 'play' fights. If anybody actually gets hurt, get us. I will speak to Snowflake, I'll be back." Canyon soon walked out of the battle cave.

Foeseer looked towards Iceberg. "You okay, Iceberg?"

Iceberg nodded, "I'm fine."

Foeseer smiled. "Great. Sorry you saw that, I just can't stand when the guardians hit us. I mean, if we get seriously injured, they would lose a dragonet!"

Canyon stepped back in. "Foeseer, it seems that Snowflake is off getting scrolls. Are you sure you didn't hear her wrong?"

Iceberg looked away for a second then turned to Canyon. "Can me and Foeseer spar?" she asked. "I mean, if Foeseer wants to."

Foeseer nodded. "I would love to!"

Iceberg smiled. "Alright, you start." She said, crouching.

Foeseer soon lunged at Iceberg, smiling. "Don't worry, I enchanted a spell so Canyon can't hear our conversations."

"Oh, how come?" She asked, tucking and rolling to avoid her.

Foeseer nodded and blasted a small amount of icicles at them. "Well, I was thinking... Maybe we should escape."

Iceberg stopped. "You do?" She asked, letting the icicles hit her wing. She shook her wing and then ran forward for Foeseer, barreling into her, making sure to keep her mouth shut so she didn't bite her.

Foeseer then used her back legs to push Iceberg back. "Yeah, of course. I think we're ready to save the world, aren't you?"

"Yes, but the guardians.."

Foeseer sighed. "What about them? They knew we were going to leave the underground either way. Besides, think about it. If we leave sooner, we might find our parents."

Iceberg nodded. "I guess. I mean, I'd like to meet my parents. But why would they not care about my egg being taken...? Why did they let your egg be taken...? Do our parents really care about us?"

Foeseer gasped. "Of course they care about us! It's the Talons Of Peace's fault. We were stolen, not sold! Not borrowed! They probably took us without our parents knowing!"

"I don't know..." Iceberg sat down and sighed.

Foeseer soon broke the spell off and soon Foeseer sighed. "Just think about it, okay? Oh and by the way, we should study today, okay? Meet me at the study room!"

Foeseer soon used her magic to teleport to the study room.
