Xander
Tell my eyes,
To look away from her,
Stop my mind,
From imagining even further.
Xander
"So how was my gift to you?", Haylien asked me with a smug look.
That guy had the talent to irritate me.
"You got her drunk and that was not right Haylien." I was not completely being truthful.
Drunk Freya made my life easy. She confessed something that she wouldn't have said in a million years otherwise.
"Did you two kiss yet?" He asked unabashedly.
"Not yet." And I sighed as if this distressed me too much.
It was no use denying that I wanted to kiss her. But would this be too fast?
"Am I supposed to do everything for you two?" He sounded exasperated.
Why was he doing all this in the first place?
"It is my personal matter, so stay out of this." I almost glared at him.
"Like I would stay out of my own brother's business." I heard him mumble slowly.
Or so I thought.
"What did you just say?"
"Nothing. Tell me you have an event coming up soon?" He asked.
I rummaged through my mind to answer his question.
"A basketball match."
"Why? You just won a tournament."
"I know but this is the match with out of town school. We have been rivals since one of ours shifted there and turned enemy. "
"Awesome then," Haylien muttered.
"Why is it awesome?"
"You will not understand. You were never intelligent anyway."
This boy was insane at some level.

Reading was never this exciting. I was waiting for her in my library glad that my mom already knew or had some inkling about it. Till the time went by I got up and started searching for the book she was once reading in the library; something about angels.
Suddenly a sharp pain hit my head and gripped the closest shelf in the area. My eyes squeezed shut and a scene formed in my head like a memory. It was sharp and clear and unusual than before. And I was damn sure it was real.
I was in a library and it was not one of our school. She was sitting there reading a book and she looked different, a little happier than now.
"What are you reading?" I sat down and looked at her book for a title.
She politely showed me the cover and I smiled at her.
"You believe in miracles?" I asked my heart bursting with hope.
"Yes, actually I do. There is someone above who hears and sees all our problems. Miracles happen if you believe in Him." She answered sounding a little defensive.
I leaned forward and asked, "Do you believe in angels?"
I wished silently that she says yes.
"Yes, I do." She said and looked into my eyes.
"You know there are prettier girls around." She blurted out to break the awkward silence.
I just gave her a smirk. She was cute, really cute.
"Besides you? I haven't noticed." I said truthfully.
"What do you think about angels?" I suddenly asked.
She answered, "My mother is very religious so from an early age I was taught about religion, God and angels. So I believe if so many people have hope and so many prayers are fulfilled there is some light and higher power."
"No, I asked what you think about angels," I asked again wanting to hear something different.
She said after a while, "I have faith that angels guide and protect humans. At least I know I have my angel protecting me."
Her words shocked me but it also made me feel something only I felt around her, crazy and lovestruck.
"So you think you have your own guardian angel? Does the guy in your book here do?" I asked trying to read between the lines.
"Well if you are a non-believer than I could do nothing about it. But don't try to ruin my faith; I have my own strong reasons to have these beliefs." She sounded annoyed but my mind solely focused on her pout.
And then out of nowhere my hand reached to her loose strand of hair and tugged it back gently behind her ear, she stopped breathing and looked at me.
I wanted to tell her to breathe, as my own breath was caught.
"Oh, I believe Freya that if there is a person who deserves to be guarded by angels, it is you," I said adoring her with my eyes.
------
"Xander." It was her, only she called me that.
I sharply turned towards her and she looked at me worried sick.
"Are you alright?" She asked her hands on my arms.
Weird, definitely. I don't think some guy would feel so much by just a touch but my heart responded wildly around her.
And right now after vision, I felt, she somehow belonged right here with me.
"Freya," I whispered her name not sure if she was a dream or reality.
She looked at me with the same look she had in my vision. What was that look? The look that set my insides in turmoil.
She cleared her throat and I snapped back to my senses.
"I am here for reading." She clarified as if I didn't know.
"I love it when you call me Xander."
She just shook her words as if my words befuddled her.
"So, I heard you have another match, some big rivalry match." She sat down on the floor again and I had to follow her lead.
"Yes, are you planning on coming this time?"
Great Alexander, now you sound desperate.
"Do you want me there?" This was a trick question.
I did?
" I do," I answered the question in my head.
"Then I will be there." Her calm smiled just settled inside my heart and I just stared at her caring about nothing.
I was enchanted by her. Weird, but amazing.
After that, we read for an hour and even debated on certain points of the story. I did realise that reading was fun. I didn't say it out loud but it was kind of alluring.
"What are we reading next?" I asked and saw the surprise flicker in her eyes.
Then she smiled slowly as if she just won something.
"You tell me, have you read Lord of the Rings?" She asked looking excited.
"No, I haven't read anything, you know that."
"Okay then how about we read it next. It is awesome and there are a lot of battles." She loved reading, it was clear that she enjoyed discussing this.
"When do we start?"
"How about tomorrow, after school?" She suggested.
"I have the match tomorrow."
"Then after that?"
After that was probably the bonfire and then the exams in which I was supposed to score well or my dad was a scary person.
"We will discuss this later. First I have a request." I had an idea in my mind and I closed in.
Just like in my vision, my finger reached her lose strand and placed it behind her ear. Her eyes shot open wide and blushing deeply, her breath stopped and little did she know that so did mine.
"What request?" She sounded breathless.
"Wear my jersey at the match." I have never requested a girl or for that matter anyone.
I have possessive about and no one was allowed to touch it. My request not only surprised her but me as well.
"When you come to support me, wear it," I asked softly.
I was pretty sure she will be annoyed and refuse me for being so fast about this.
But her lips formed a smile and she nodded slowly, "I will be honoured."
Damn Alexander, you are such a goner. When was the last time you felt so victorious and love struck? There was something undeniable this Freya Morenson had over me and those visions were enough to prove it.
