chapter 8
Silent giggles quickly spill from the blonde's mouth as the brunette fails to unlock the front door to his house. Laurence has tried 8 times by now, but he continues to fail at unlocking his front door. Garroth whacks the back of Laurence's head playfully, snatching his keys and quickly unlocking the door on his first try. Laurence glares at him in disbelief before pointing at him and muttering, "You're a ninja," They enter the house, turning on the lights and beginning to get comfortable. Garroth shuts and locks the door behind them, sliding off his jacket and placing it on the arm rest of a nearby chair. Laurence starts up the fireplace, dimming the lights and winking playfully at Garroth. "Are you ready my angel?" He jokes.
Garroth blushes with a giggle, "Shut up," He walks over and sits on the couch, softly looking at Laurence with a grin. "Go get your art supplies and shit then?" He says and Laurence nods with a 'oh right' before dancing up the stairs to get his things. Garroth snickers at Laurence's childish actions, pulling a blanket over his legs and feet. He looks around Laurence's house with a soft smile, the house's decorations fit Laurence's personality perfectly. He then spots a picture hung up on the wall of him and Laurence when they were about 5 or 6 years old. Laurence suddenly comes dancing back downstairs, causing Garroth to begin laughing again. The brunette places a bunch of art supplies on the coffee table in front of the couch that Garroth was seated on. "So, what do you do now? Do you randomly pick out a request from your notebook or something, I don't—" Garroth begins however Laurence cuts him off mid-sentence.
"Exactly that. And then I draw it. Here, pick a request." Laurence says, handing Garroth his large orange notebook. Garroth opens it up and gasps in surprise. He wasn't lying. It was actually filled up with art requests. Garroth's teal eyes dart across the pages, trying to find a fun piece of art he could draw with Laurence. Then one of the requests caught Garroth's attention. It was written in a noticeable bright bold, 'An Angel.' Garroth points to the request and shows Laurence, grinning like a fool once Laurence agrees and begins to take out a pencil and sketch the drawing. He takes a seat next to Laurence on the floor, sitting up on his knees and watching Laurence sketch out the angel's wings.
"Oh my gosh, how do you draw so good like that?" Garroth gasps and Laurence blushes a strong rose pink.
"I don't know. I'm just good at drawing I guess. Wanna try?" He pulls out another piece of paper and hands it to Garroth, passing him a pencil.
"Ugh, but I don't know how to draw!" Garroth whimpers which makes Laurence roll his eyes.
"Just try."
"Fine," Garroth huffs and begins to sketch out an angel, however it turns out looking like the character, "Benson" from The Regular Show. Garroth and Laurence take a quick look at the drawing and begin to laugh at it. The brunette sighs softly and sets his pencil down, taking the paper and pencil away from Garroth.
"Come here," Laurence says, scooting over and patting the spot where he previously was for Garroth. The younger male sighs and moves over, sitting in the same spot. Laurence moves to sit behind Garroth and smiles softly as the blonde admired Laurence's sketch. He reaches above Garroth, pulling that sketch aside and pulling out a different paper. "Set your hands on the table," He demands and Garroth furrows his eyebrows in confusion with a slight tilt in his head, but obey's nonetheless. But suddenly, Laurence's arms reach around Garroth and rest on stop of Garroth's hands. He begins to guide the blonde's hand to draw, not realizing how romantic and cheesy the scene actually was.
Not to mention that it was currently 12:00 at midnight and Laurence had dimmed the lights and put the fireplace on.
Garroth blushes furiously but smiles anyways, enjoying the romantic actions. Laurence rests his chin on Garroth's shoulder, the side of his head pressed against the side of Garroth's. There was a comfortable silence in the room for a few more minutes before he older smiles softly and lets go of Garroth's hands. "Got it?" He asks and Garroth shrugs with a small smile. "Do you want me to show you again?" Laurence asks and Garroth giggles lightly and nods, though he just wants Laurence to repeat the cheesy romantic movements. They go back into the previous position, Laurence guiding Garroth's pale hand to draw two angel wings. The blonde leans backwards onto the brunette's chest, making Laurence finally realize how romantic this was. Another few minutes pass by and now Garroth and Laurence are sitting side by side again, drawing angel wings and the angels themselves while making jokes and chatting. Laurence's heart soars and his stomach flips at the sudden realization that he was having a good time. He wasn't stressed and he wasn't sad at the moment.
He was thankful that it was Garroth who brought him happiness.
