The cabin was rustic and very different from the lifestyle I was used to. No doubt it would be fun. Everyone began putting twin sheets and bedspread on their bunks. My sheets were soft and I rubbed my face against them. One girl was giving me a weird look. I returned the favor by expressing a shut up scowl. Just after I had set up my bed, a bell rang. Peyton, our counselor, explained what this bell meant.
"The bell means that we walk to the logs and sit with our cabins." She informed us. We must have looked confused, because she continued. "I'm going to lead the way. It's not like I was going to abandon y'all. Is everyone done with their beds?"
"Not yet." The seemingly snooty girl who was giving me a weird look earlier answered, "Do you really except us to be done already?" Peyton sighed, obviously not appreciating the sass.
"Yes, considering everyone but you is finished and we've had a good solid ten minutes to work." She answered patiently.
"Well... well... ugh!" The girl grouched. Peyton began walking out and all of us followed. The logs were in the center of the cabins with a bright red table in the middle where a man stood.
