Ch.6: Love me like a spring breeze (Part 1)
Somewhere a bird chirped her song as early morning dew adorned the crimson petals of the sun-kissed flowers embracing Rajeshri Park. The waning colours of the night blended into the brightening hues of a rising day as two souls became one with the utterance of three solemn words. Three most powerful words of the human language, which could change destinies and destroy conventions. Words of dreams and words of rebellion.
And Naina had spoken them like a prayer as she had stood still against the heat of his back, both deriving support from his musculature as well as engulfing him in the warmth of love.
Her petite fragile arms held him with care akin to the night sky that shrouds the glimmering moon. Her petite arms that ensconced his body made him glow. And probably for the first time in his life, Sameer felt love seeping deep into his cold hardened skin.
Through the layers of her bright dress and his dark suit, he could feel the heat of her being, and it made his heart explode like a skittering summer storm.
For as long as he could remember, Sameer had cursed the universe for giving him a world of darkness. For the silky hair and good looks that could never win him the one thing he had always yearned for the most: love. Winter midnights would meet solemn dawns but the sun felt far from the emptiness Sameer had felt within. Naina's hug was like the sweater he never had. Engulfed in her warmth and fragrance, he lost all senses of the past and time ceased for him.
For the first time in a long time, he truly lived in the moment. Sorrows evaporated and all that he could feel in that serenity adorned morning was joy: at having his beloved, at her confession, and at his dreams that would finally fly instead of collapsing like they had been his entire life. In that sun-soaked stillness, he was Naina's and she was his.
Gradually, shyness overtook his stormy darling and she parted from him. He turned to see his everlasting muse looking down, hiding that riveting layered gaze of hers from his perceiving eyes. The crimson of her cheekbones could defeat the darkest of roses and her long hair could tie together a thousand hearts in one tangle. Her's was a beauty like no other. Shy one moment and fierce the next.
"Uss falak ke taare ne pucha mere iss dil se
Tara hoon mai magar chamak hai tu
Maine kaha ki dil hai mera magar isme rehti hai meri Naina.
Uske ek muskurahat se roshan ho uthta hai soona jeevan mera.
Tara hai tu magar mera sitara hai sirf woh.
I love you Naina."
He whispered, leaning forward, her eyes at par with his. Close yet apart. He watched the plethora erupt in her twilight gaze: at the conflicting edge between desire and control. Fascinated and mesmerised on one hand, but scared of crossing territories on the other. There are words you say and urges you fulfil when two humans love each other as wildly as they did.
But none of that mattered where they stood. At the cusp of a fluttering heartbeat, the only intensity that he wanted to presently drown himself in was the unbounded love in her eyes. He had waited for an eternity, tormented by insecurities and broken by his own people, for the kind of love that took shape in the shimmering night of her gaze. Sameer's breath caught in his throat as she looked up, clearly enchanted at his whispered confession. Their eyes locked and destinies intertwined as all locks in their universe opened; they had, after all, found the key to each other in each other.
"Tum...mai...woh....mujhe sameer mai offo naina kya kar rahi hai." She spoke, blushing as she stammered. Sameer could only watch her, amused at the fumble. The topper, Nainadevi had been defeated at words by his one gaze.
"Jaan..." he whispered soothingly, holding her hands as he guided her to sit. He did adore the flustered mess she had become after their confession but he didn't want his Naina to lose her fierceness behind this shyness.
Once they were sitting, facing each other, he dragged his chair closer to her. There was no way he could withstand any distance from her now, he had spent months yearning for her and now that he finally had the girl of his dreams, he was going to slash all distance and walls between them, little by little, every day. But first, he had to make his love comfortable.
"Jaan mujhe tumhari iss sharam se bhi bahut pyaar hai. Magar mai chahta hoon ki tum mere saath wahi purani wali Naina bankar raho." He spoke, his fingers fitting in the spaces between hers like their hands had been made to be held by each other.
"Sameer tum nahi samajh rahe. Ab cheezein badal gayi hai. Ab tum mere friend nahi mere boy...." Her eyes widened as her pink lips almost uttered the words his ears had been longing to hear for so long. But she was his blushing sweetheart, her folly caught up to her and she looked down once again.
She was about to say, boyfriend! I am Naina Agrawal's boyfriend now! Sameer you hear that she is yours to love, to gaze, to flirt, to touch, and to kiss..you moron! You started again. Control Sameer. And Sameer knew his mind's voice was correct. Naina's confession didn't give him the license to touch her but to love her. From afar till he knew his girl was ready for more.
But try as he might, Sameer Maheshwari could not resist teasing his girl. Especially with the golden chance she had offered him, there was no way he was going to let this go. So he moved closer, his eyes roving over the layers of soft brown fur, and the even softer hair which gleamed in the sun and caressed her cheeks.
Her floral scent deeply assaulted his senses as he leaned in, his nose nuzzling the silky night of her hair, and whispered "boy kya, Naina? Finish your sentence or I swear I will finish it for you."
