Jasmine helped us bed the horses, we had some bags of feed in the storage shed about 30 feet away. We finished and Jasmine packed us into her car and drove us to her home.
It was a nice house with blue siding with white trim. It was 3 stories, Lucas fell asleep and Jasmine carried him inside. While I slung his bag along with mine over my shoulders, and followed them inside their home. Aaron and Jasmine's daughters were Lilly and Kayla, Lilly looked a lot like her dad while Kayla looked a bit like both. Aaron had dirty blond hair and brown eyes, Lilly had the same hair and facial structure but had her mothers blue eyes. Kayla had platinum blond hair and brown eyes. Lilly was the same height as Lucas, Kayla was quite a bit shorter than me.
"Mommy, are they both sleeping in the spare bedroom?" Lilly asked her mom after seeing both me and Lucas, who had woken up slightly.
"Is that okay for you Wren?" Jasmine asked. I nodded and looked at Lucas, then pointed to my ears reminding him to take out his hearing aids. They lead us up the stairs and to a room the farthest down. There were two beds inside. Jasmine set Lucas down on one and I set his bag down next to him. He sleepily pulled out his jar and placed his hearing aids inside once he had turned them off and fell asleep once under the covers.

I grabbed my phone, my dad's old phone and my tablet and put them on chargers. I went down with Jasmine, We didn't have school because of teacher work day. I would call whatever numbers on the phone in the morning.

Lilly had gone to bed about 20 minutes after we arrived. Aaron still had another 25 minutes until he was off work.

"Wren which horses were yours?" Jasmine asked sitting in the chair in the living room while I sat on the couch next to Kayla who perked up hearing the word horses.

"Uh mine are Thalia and Steel. Thalia was the black mustang, Steel is the Appaloosa which was the one that kind of looks like a Dalmatian. Micky was the one Lucas had he is a Quarter horse he is brown with a white mane and tail. Angel was the white Arabian, Witch is the brown thoroughbred with a white streak going up her nose, Jackson is dark gray thoroughbred, and Doc is the other Quarter horse, who is brown with white socks and a star and strip." I answered

"You have horses?" Kayla asked excited.

"Yea, we house 7 at the barn 6 of them are ours, one is my best friends horse. Witch is my friend Emma's horse, Jackson and Angel are, I mean were my mom's then Doc was my stepdad's. Mickey is Lucas's and Thalia and Steel are mine."

"Cool."

"Thalia is a mustang that I had tamed when I was 10 and got to keep." I turned to Jasmine with an idea. "Jasmine would Kayla and Lilly be able to come over and help out with chores there are a few things that I do that Lucas can't but now I can't because of my hands. And everyone could come riding as a reward."

"Possibly, Aaron doesn't have work." She replied. Kayla was bouncing up and down in her seat.

"Please mom, please." Kayla begged.

"You will have to ask your father." She insisted, right when Aaron walked in. Kayla jumped up and ran to him.

"Dad can we help Wren with chores at her barn then go riding tomorrow?" Kayla asked him before he even had a chance to close the door.

"Kayla, wait for your dad to set his stuff down and get in here." Jasmine warned her daughter. Aaron came into the room and sat down.

"So what is this about going and helping Wren and Lucas tomorrow?"Aaron asked.

"I offered to Kayla and Jasmine to come help us with chores tomorrow since I can't use my hands for much. As a reward we could go riding."

"That doesn't sound like a bad offer. That soundsgood. I've been wanting to take the girls out to a barn for a while."

Kayla let out a shriek and ran over to her father and huggesd him. "Kayla, be quiet we don't want to wake up Lilly and Lucas."

"Sorry, Thank you, thank you, thank you." She hugged her mom after apologizing for screaming.

We continued talking for the next hour almost two hours before Kayla and I went upstairs with aaron and Jasmine following us. I went into the spare room where Lucas was asleep, and changed my clothes then grabbed my phone, to text my best fiend Emma.

Hey, Did you hear about what happened?- W

Yea I heard about the fire are you OK?- E

I burned my hands getting the horses out, but mom didn't make it- W

What, I didn't hear about that, I'm going to miss her.- E

Are you coming to the Barn or do I have to let Witch out myself?- W

I'm coming-E

I opened up my bag and grabbed out my book and began to read for a few minutes. 20 minutes later and 2 chapters ahead I closed my book and went under the covers to fall asleep.

I woke up around 6 am and got dressed in the dark to not wake up Lucas, who I would awake in about an hour. I heard someone moving around in the lower level and went downstairs. Aaron was up and making coffee in the kitchen.

"Good Morning," I said walking into the room.

"Your up early, wow I would normally have another 45 minutes until another life form would even be up."

"Yea, that's what I'm used to as well, I'm up extremely early almost every day." I told him sitting down on one of the kitchen table's chair, Aaron sat down across from me.

"Okay, Wren can i see your hands." I reached my hands over and set them in front of Aaron. "Thanks."

He unwrapped my hands from the boxer form that they were in. My hands were red but stung slightly. Carefully Aaron turned my hands over inspecting them then got up and got a tube from the bathroom. He came back and gently spread the white cream over my hands cooling them slightly. He left my hands unwrapped letting the lotion dry and my hands air out. We talked about random stuff for the next 30 minutes till Jasmine came down soon followed by Kayla. Aaron wrapped up my hands right before Kayla came down. Around 7 I went up to wake up Lucas.

I sat on the side of the bed and softly rubbed Lucas's back waking him up slowly.

"Wren? Where are we? Where's Mom?" He asked I unplugged my tablet and opened up a notepad app and typed.

"Remember the fire last night, Mom didn't make it, we are staying at the paramedic who was signing to you when the police came. Later today we are going back to the house and they will be helping with chores then we will take them to the Spot."

"Oh, Okay." His face fell, and he placed his head on my shoulders and started to cry finding out about our mom. After 10 minutes he stopped crying and I helped him get dressed with the clothes that I had set out earlier that morning for him.
