Back in Black
(Unrelated Adamandriel aesthetic for ambiance)
Okay sorry here's your story
-
Pain. Fear. Suffering. Adam was cast aside as the two archangels he was locked in the cage with abandoned him in favor of each other. The intensity of their collective rage was tangible enough to press Adam to the wall and floor. He felt, almost light headed. Could souls be light headed? Adam certainly was. The battle before him raged on as his senses faded.
Birdsong whistled around him. A gust of cold wind rushed over him. Adam opened his eyes to see an endless blue sky before him, white clouds drifting lazily through it.
He shot up from his position and looked around. It was some kind of meadow in a forest.
As Adam scrambled to his feet, he promptly fell over.
He glared at his uncooperative legs as if that would help. But he noticed something as he did. Someone laying face down in the grass. He wore an obnoxiously bright Weiner Hut uniform and his hat had slipped off his head, presumably during what caused him to fall.
Adam stared at him for a moment before crawling over to him and gently shaking his shoulder. He may have almost literally been a bat out of hell but that didn't mean he wasn't concerned for this guy. "Hey," he whisper-shouted. After no response he began searching for a pulse until the man gasped loudly and started coughing.
Adam actually jumped back slightly when he awoke. The dude had seemed dead and now suddenly he wasn't. "Woah, are you okay?" He asked the stranger. He noticed a name tag on his shirt that read Alfie.
"Yes I am alright," Alfie replied. Then he paused and looked at his hands. It was like he was confused. "That's strange," he uttered ",I was dead," he looked around the meadow curiously.
Adam blinked a few times. Did he just say he was dead? Is this normal for most people or something? "What?" Adam asked flatly.
"It is a long story," Alfie sighed, "I am Samandriel. You are Adam right?"
Adam was once again caught off guard. Then it clicked. Samandriel was an incredibly angel name. Of course the guy knew him. He was an angel. "Yeah, that's me, Adam Milligan." He extended his hand but retracted it when Samandriel only stared at it.
Both men were absolutely filthy. It looked like they had been dragged through a dirt road in a rain storm by a monster truck which isn't an entirely necessary detail it's just for setting really.
Adam stood shakily like a doe first learning to walk. The angel beside him noticed and put the human's arm over his shoulder to help Adam stand. "Thanks," The forgotten Winchester managed as he started forward.
On his second step, Adam's leg crumbled beneath him. Before he fell, however, the angel caught him around the waist with a cry of "Careful!"
Both froze when they became aware of their proximity. And stared at each other. Just staring into each others eyes in a completely heterosexual and acquaintance-like way. Then Adam cleared his throat, which Samandriel took as a cue to help him stand again.
Thankfully they didn't have anymore incidents like that as they walked through the forest and hopefully towards civilization. Adam wondered why they didn't just teleport. He thought angels could do that. His musings were interrupted by the angel sniffling. Adam looked to him momentarily and flicked his wrist. When the angel looked at it and at him, Adam explained, "I think I can walk on my own now,"
Samandriel studied his face for a moment before nodding and releasing Adam's arm. They walked in silence until Adam couldn't take it anymore, "So, are you an angel?" He asked stupidly.
Samandriel nodded, "Yes," he said simply
Adam waited a moment. He hoped Samandriel would say something else so they could maintain the conversation but he didn't, "Cool," the human responded with an understanding nod. "Why does your name tag say Alfie?"
The angel only glanced at it "Its my vessel's name," he calmly explained
"Oh," Adam nodded. It should not have been possible for the atmosphere to be this awkward.
The walked silence aside from grunts as both occasionally tripped on tree roots or rocks in their way. Mostly it was Adam tripping as they walked past the vivid green oaks and firs but occasionally Samandriel would almost fall only to be caught by Adam grabbing the angel's arm. As the walk progressed, the silence became more comfortable.
The two walked side by side until coming upon a stretch of worn out, cracked asphalt with faded white and yellow paint spattered over it in stripes and lines. Adam nearly dropped to the ground. He was seeing salvation laid out before him. "Yes!" He shouted to the sky, throwing his arms up as well as his head as his face split into a victorious grin. Samandriel only eyed him perplexedly. "Thank you God! You know, I thought you were an asshole for a while but thank you!" Adam cheered.
He didn't hear the black '67 Impala pulling up and only noticed it when Samandriel tapped him on the shoulder, "Adam," he uttered nervously.
Adam's arms dropped as he looked to the car. Two familiar men stepped out and stared the other pair down. Dean looked suspicious as he analyzed them like insects under a microscope. Sam on the other hand, looked entirely amazed and stunned.
Adam scrambled to his feet and put a hand on Samandriel's shoulder to help himself stand, which the angel didn't mind. He looked between his half brothers.
Slowly, his nervous gaze became a glare rivaling that of Dean's.
He had a bone to pick with these two.
