Chapter 7: Lockdown

Hello again! I just wanted to quickly tell you thank you so much for all the votes. I am truly amazed at how many I've recieved so far. I hope you keep enjoying this story. Everything gets more intense here on out.

Bain remained quite most of the ride and it was killing me. I’ve done apologized to him but it seemed like it wasn’t enough. Now I was pissed and knew I was about to break.

“How long are you going to ignore me?”

“I’m not ignoring you. I’m just trying to think of a good way to punish you,” he said bluntly.

“Punish me?” I squealed. “This is your fault for not warning me!” I defended.

It wasn’t really his fault but I was mad. He had another thing coming if he thought to punish me. I’m not some kid you can bend over the knee or make me stand in the corner. I was almost nineteen and the punishments stopped at sixteen.

Bain ignored me and pushed the gas down. I knew we were going over 80 mph in town. I held onto the bar in front of me until we made it home. Before I could get the door opened, Bain was there picking me up and throwing me over his shoulder.

“What are you doing? Put me down!” I yelled. He walked all the way to our room with me yelling at him to put me down. We even passed Connor, who was grinning at my predicament.

Bain closed the door and tossed me on the bed. I bounced twice and quickly scrambled off. He growled and pointed at the bed. “Get back on the bed, Kitten!”

“No! Not until you stop acting like this!”

Bain was in front of me and had me on the bed under him before I could blink. He kissed me urgently like it may be his last time. I tried slowing down the kiss but he wouldn’t allow it. He continued his assault until he trailed his mouth down to my neck. He bit down where he marked me last night and growled deep from his chest.

I bucked my hips and wrapped my arms around his back, digging my nails in. The feelings of pleasure I got were so intense, I could hardly make a sound. He growled again before releasing his teeth and licked the wound.

“Don’t you ever fucking leave me again,” he threatened in my ear.

My heart ached from the sound of his voice. Bain was angry but scared too.

I nodded. “I won’t.”

The next day, Bain wouldn’t let me out of his sight. He made me walk everywhere with him. If he needed to go to the kitchen for a snack, I was there holding his hand. If he needed to work in his office, I was there sitting on the couch. Right now, I was sitting on the couch.

“Make him talk. I don’t care what you have to do,” Bain said in the receiver. He hung up the phone and wouldn’t make eye contact with me.

“Who talk?” I questioned him with narrowed eyes. I had my suspicions but it might be someone else.

“It’s not your concern, Kitten.” He said filling something out.

“I thought we are supposed to handle things together. I’m not as sensitive and weak as you think.”

Bain put the pen down on the desk and hooked his finger toward me. I got up excited that he finally decided to include me. When I came around the desk, I was pulled into his lap facing away from him. Bain clicked on a file that brought up a very familiar face. Dennis Lexington was staring back at me.

“What’s this?” I ask confused.

“This is the guy who broke into your home,” he growled slightly.

I just stared at the photo. Dennis was a school friend. I even hung out with him a few times when I was with Mason. He is actually one of Mason’s best friends. Why would he break into my home? He never acted interested in me. He was always sucking face with a different girl every week.

“Where is he?” I demanded.

“Not happening, little mate.” Bain said quickly, crushing the conversation. But I didn’t care. I was stubborn and needed to talk to Dennis.

“If you were talking about him on the phone, then I can help you by getting him to talk,” I pleaded.

Bain sighed aggravated. I knew he wouldn’t give in. He was being impossible over the stupidest things. I reached for the mouse to read what was on the file but he stopped me.

“Who was he to you?” he questioned.

I looked over my shoulder at him and saw the hate in his eyes as he stared at the picture. “A friend. We weren’t that close. He was just a friend of my ex-boyfriend.”

Bain fisted his hand in my hair and pulled my head back. “You have no idea how close I am to losing it, do you?” he asked carefully.

I wasn’t surprised because I knew how I messed up. I would go off to if he mentions an ex around me. I don’t know what I was thinking. There wasn’t really any other way around it.

“Yes, I do.”

“What is his name?” he demanded against my cheek.

Uh oh! I should have just kept my mouth shut and stayed on the couch like a good girl. Knowing Bain, he would hunt Mason down. And Mason was not the type to fight. He was always too busy flirting with everything that walked. Plus, Mason was human. I have never seen him act like Bain.

“Bain?”

“What is his name?” He demanded again. His phone began ringing but he ignored it.

“Mason. Mason Woods!” I spilled. Bain didn’t let go like I thought he would. He held tight and even ran his hand up between my legs. My heart started pounding and I began panting.

His talented hand reached the apex of my legs and my eyes closed. “Never mention his name again after today, Kitten,” he warned.

I nodded and he finally released my hair but he wasn’t done with me yet. He parted my legs wider with his knees and unbuttoned my jeans. I laid there against his chest and let him do what he wanted. His touch always made me feel wonderful. It’s something I thirst for now.

Bain slid his hand gently inside my jeans. As soon as he ran his fingers over my folds, someone knocks on the door. I jump from thinking we were caught and Bain holds me tight not letting me move.

“What!” he booms.

“He’s talking but he’s asking for you,” Kade says through the door.

“Shit!” he whispers harshly to himself. “I’ll be there soon!” he yells.

Kade didn’t answer back but you could hear his booted feet leaving. How we didn’t hear him earlier was beyond me.

Bain runs his finger through my folds before pulling out. “You’re mine tonight,” he says buttoning my jeans back.

I knew that. Last night he held me like he was afraid I would leave again. If I moved an inch, his eyes would fly open and check to make sure I was okay. I felt horrible for making him this way. It was all my fault.

Bain took me back to the room and basically dropped me off. He gave me a quick kiss and left in a hurry. He acted like I should just sit and wait on him. That wasn’t me. The room might be huge but it felt like I was in a prison. I wanted to be close to Bain.

I paced the room for about five minutes trying to decide what to do. Then I remembered the basement game rooms. I could go play pool to try to ease the need for him until he returns.

 ................................................

I couldn’t wait to hear what this Dennis had to say. It would be his death if he ends up saying the wrong thing. He knows that, that’s why he has remained quite this whole time. I made it downstairs when Connor fell in step with me.

“How’s Kit liking her lockdown?” he asks.

I remained quiet. The funny thing was, Kitten didn’t know. If I told her, it would cause a fight between us and I hated it when she was upset with me. The longer she didn’t know the better for me.

“She doesn’t know, does she?”

I cut my eyes to him. “No, and you better not say anything.”

“No worries brother, as much as I love to see you in the dog house, she will be safer,” he said grinning.

We entered the underground cells behind the house where Kade and Laven were waiting on me. The cell Dennis was in was not much bigger than a prison cell so everyone stayed behind the bars as I went in.

Dennis looked up as soon as he seen me walk in. “I was beginning to think you forgot about me,” he said sarcastically.

I wasn’t in the mood to play back. “Why were you in my mate’s house?”

Dennis’ eyes flicked over my shoulder at the others before looking back at me. “I agreed to talk but only with you,” he said seriously.

I looked over my shoulder and nodded my head. They left but I knew they didn’t go far. They were only out of sight not hearing. “Talk,” I ordered.

He put his head down but kept his eyes on me. “I was ordered to. And I’m not the only one. If you think she’s safe because you mated her, you have no idea what he will do to have her.”

I grabbed his throat and squeezed. “Who?” I demanded.

Dennis’ face turned bright red from lack of air. He tried saying something but couldn’t. My wolf wanted him dead right now without answers because he was impatient. I wanted him dead after I get what I needed first. I let up slightly, just enough for him to talk.

“Let go,” he hoarsely whispered.

I didn’t want to but I did. He coughed and choked gulping the air greedily. “You think I’m on his side but I’m not. I hate him.” he spats. “He has destroyed my life and my mate’s. He has already destroyed Kaitlin’s by killing her parents,” he growled in anger.

I saw the heavy emotion behind his speech when he spoke of his mate. I could smell his anger and fear as he spoke of this un-named person. “Then why are you doing his dirty work?” I demanded.

“Because if I don’t, he will kill my mate.” Dennis said angry at himself.

“What did he send you to do?”

He laughs a humorless laugh and looks to the ceiling. “Stupid things. Mess with her stuff or like I did, raise her window and write on her mirror. He wants her scared so when he comes, he can look like he’s here to save her.”

Who?” I demanded.

Dennis hung his head again defeated like a wolf who has been beaten. “Roman O’Hara.”

“Laven!” I yelled. All three came but Laven came into the cell. I looked at Dennis and gave him a warning. “If you’re lying, I will fucking kill you slowly,” I growled.

Dennis nodded once. “Get him down and put him in cell three,” I said to Laven. He didn’t question me and got right to it. I left not saying one word to anyone. I needed to do some research on Kitten’s parents and Roman. I have already searched through his files to see if he knew Kitten more than just a civilian in his territory but I found nothing. He was hiding something. Every leader or Alpha is supposed to record everything they know about their residents. The only thing he had on her was her school records and the fire that killed her parents. But that fire was ruled as faulty wiring.

When I made it into the house, I walked upstairs to our room to check on my Kitten. She was nowhere to be found. I searched the whole upstairs in under a minute when I began to panic. She wouldn’t be able to get far if she did decide to run. I had this whole property surrounded with wolves and men at the gate. When she was taking a shower this morning, I put it all into action. Now I know I didn’t go overboard with protecting her. If Roman was after her, he would have a hard time getting in.

When I began searching downstairs, I heard someone playing pool in the basement. I went down and found her leaning over the table concentrating on a shot. “You’ll never make it,” I said.

She jumped and looked up. “Probably not but thanks for supporting me,” she said rolling her eyes.

“Why are you down here when you’re supposed to be in the room,” I asked picking up one of the balls.

“What?” she asked appalled. “Are you trying to say I have to stay where you leave me now?” she asked with narrowed eyes.

“You got that right! You’re a runner, little mate.” I put the ball back down and walked toward her.

“No!” she blurted throwing her hands out for me to stay back. “I don’t want you touching me until you stop being so controlling.”

I smirked circling the table with her on the other side. “Sorry Kitten, but I can’t do that. I don’t like you being somewhere I don’t know. Now stop acting childish and come here,” I said giving her a chance to come on her own.

Kitten kept her distance trying to keep away but I could see through her armor. Her golden eyes were begging me to touch her. I was over the table and in front of her before she realized I moved. I picked her up and carried her in my arms to the room.

“I wasn’t done playing! Put me down, Bain!” she said furiously. Her golden eyes turned a brighter yellow when she was this mad. She tried squirming out of my arms and pushed against my chest. I sat down on the bed with her still in my lap holding tight.

“Calm down, Kitten,” I said lifting her jaw with my hand. “I just want to talk to you for a minute and I’ll leave you alone,” I promised. But that promise was only meant for a few minutes. I could never leave her alone.

She stopped fighting, aggravated that I wouldn’t put her down. “What?” She snapped.

I growled at her. “Watch your tone, baby. I’m not hurting you!” I didn’t like her being this mad at me but it was my fault. If I were only human, she wouldn’t have to put up with my ways. Humans didn’t feel as strongly for their other half as Lycan/Werewolves do. It’s in our nature to be dominating. And ever since I bit her, it has only gotten worse.

Kitten relaxed in my arms waiting on me to continue. “I need to know if you know anyone by the name of Roman O’Hara?”

She thought for a second and nodded her head. “He’s the officer that told me how the fire was started.”
