Chapter 6: Runaway Mate!

Okay everyone, I got to say I have no idea how to write a love scene. I even read others to see how I should word it but I finally just wrote something so, I hope you like. This is hard for me so at least I tried.

“Do you want it, Kitten,” he rumbled roughly.

I could tell Bain was having a hard time holding back. His lips pressed roughly against my neck and his hands held my arms tight.

I nodded still teasing him with raising my chest.

“Say you love me.”

“I love you,” I breathed. Bain growled deep from his chest. He released my arms to lay me on the bed, ripping my bra off in the process. My nerves got the best of me when his hands weren’t touching me. He unbuttoned my jeans and pulled them off with my underwear.

He was jerky in his movements which raised alarm. Bain was never jerky in anything. He was graceful like a tiger. Something was wrong like he was losing control of himself. When his eyes began to glow, I knew Texas was on the surface. Bain was having a hard time resisting his animalistic urges.

He lowered his boxers and I panicked for real then. Bain’s manhood stood erect in all its glory. It was long and big. Too long and too big to fit inside me.  I pictured myself screaming in agony from being split opened.

When he lowered himself on me, my fears just evaporated. I was back to feeling pleasure from his touch.

“Spread your legs, baby,” he whispered against my lips before taking them. I did what he said without thought. He ran his hand down between my legs, touching me gently. But that small touch made me crazy. I moaned spreading my legs more opened like I knew what I was doing.

His deft fingers parted my folds and ran his finger over my clit working it back and forth. I became louder tearing my mouth away from his to beg. He kissed down my neck to my chest, taking a breast in his warm mouth. I was in paradise.

“Please Bain,” I begged. He released my breast and settled between my legs with his weapon at the ready.

“Look at me, Kitten.” He ordered.

I opened my eyes to stare in a pair of glowing green eyes. He pushed in gently and pulled out, doing this several times until he was all the way in. It was slow at first but at the end, he had me yelling his name, begging him for more. Right before he stopped, he bit down between my neck and shoulder growling. White hot pleasure shot down my spine and pooled between my legs. It shook me taking my breath away. I believe the same happened to Bain as he shook and emptied himself inside me.

The next morning, I had to beg Bain to let me go to work today. He was acting way too over protective since he claimed me last night. I was running around the bedroom trying to find my work shoes in the mess Kade had brought in when he started in on me.

“You can go tomorrow or….. never,” he said standing in the doorway. “You don’t have to work anymore, Kitten. I’ll take care of you.”

I turned my back on him when I finally spotted them sticking out under a bag. To be honest, I needed to get away from him for a few hours. I didn’t understand these new feelings I had hitting me from every side. When I woke up this morning without him in the bed, I jumped out and ran to find him. Every part of me was screaming to be near him at all times. I needed his eyes on me, I needed him to hold me, and I needed his voice talking to me. Right now, I still needed those but I was fighting the pull.

“I know you will but I like working,” I said putting on my shoes. “Alright, let’s go.”

Bain sighed and took my hand in his leading me out. When he dropped me off, he took his time in kissing me, making me late.

Heather was just serving a group of men when I walked in. Her blue eyes caught everything that happened in the truck. She made a bee line for me as I clocked in.

“Are you and Bain Winters together now?”

“Yes, why, is there a problem?” I snapped. I don’t know what made me act that way but it wasn’t me.

Heather threw her hands up in surrender. “Woah, I was only asking because Jessie told me. I was just seeing if it was true since she said she warned you.”

“Her warning is a lie her sister made up and I don’t want to hear about it anymore! Everyone just needs to leave him alone!” I defended. I felt the fight in me like Heather and every other female was a threat now. I wanted to beat the hell out of Jessie’s sister for running Bain’s reputation in the ground. I even wanted to dare a female to speak his name in a negative way around me.

Heather’s jaw dropped as she reached and pulled down my collar. I had no idea what she was doing until after she did it. “He mated you?” she asked surprised. “I know now why you’re so defensive.”

I nodded and walked away from her to serve the couple that just walked in. I was done talking to her. Right now she got on my nerves with her questions and being nosey.

Everything was going alright halfway through the day when Jessie walked in. I purposely ignored her by busying myself. A few minutes later, she and Heather were whispering something to each other when they both looked at me.

Jessie threw her pad down on the table and marched over to me like she was going to chew me out.

“What the fuck, Kaitlin! You let him mate you after what he did to my sister. And she’s not the only one!” she shrieked.

I got in her face and growled back. “You might want to shut the hell up before I knock your teeth down your throat!”

Jessie sneered. It was the first time I had ever seen her this way. This person standing in front of me was not the girl I knew. Then again, neither was I. “When he drops you like a piece of shit that you are, I will be there to hold his hand and laugh,” she said harshly.

At first I was taken back with her tone and wording but it finally dawned on me what was happening. Jessie didn’t hate Bain. She was in love with him and I just took him from her. Well, he was never hers to begin with.

When I allowed the anger to hit, I attacked and slung her to the hard floor. I was on top of her punching as hard as I could not letting up. Daniel the new manager was pulling me off within seconds. Jessie stood up wiping blood from her face. “You bitch! I’m pressing charges for this!” she screamed.

Daniel still held my arms firmly but not tight. I had to get out of here! What have I done? I jerked free when he least expected it and ran out the door not looking back. I ran into the woods behind the shopping area across the street from the diner.

What the hell was wrong with me? I have never attacked anyone in my life and I did it viciously. The claim he put on me last night has changed me. I hated this part of me.

Each leap I took became harder. I kept forcing myself to run. Something was pulling me back. It almost felt like I was trying to run through water. I couldn’t do this anymore. I hit my knees and cried like a baby. I don’t know how long I cried but it must have not been long. I finally stood up sniffling and looked around me. Just through the trees on the right was a house and a few cars in the drive.

I had made up my mind. I was stealing a car and getting away. I love Bain with all my heart but if I went back to him, he would hate me for what I’ve become. For what I’ve done.  I’m not his Kitten anymore. Who would want to be with a person like me?

I stood up and wiped the black dirt off my knees. Still sniffling, I walked through the trees and into someone’s yard. No one saw me as I opened the Ford ranger and searched for a key. When I found it under the wheel well in a black magnetic box, I turned it on and spun out of there with my mind set on a lot of distance.

The pull became stronger as I came upon the county line. Pain shot up through my neck and into my head almost causing me to wreck. I slammed on breaks just thirty feet from the line. I screamed holding my head as the pain came in sharp bursts. Instead of turning around I stomped the gas and crossed over. The pain receded until it was nothing.

What the hell was that? I knew it had to do with Bain and my connection to him. We were mated to be one but I just cut my half off from him by leaving his town. I cried again knowing I was in deep shit. I just beat the hell out of my co-worker, stole a car, and left the best thing that has ever happened to me because I’m scared. That’s what I do though. I run when I can’t handle the situation.

I drove for hours until I came into a town called Delute. I pulled into the first motel I saw. I checked in and used my bank card that still had a good bit of money on it from my parents. I laid down on the putrid green blanket and closed my eyes.

I slammed my fist down on the desk when I read the file on the guy that broke into my Kittens home. Dennis Lexington did belong to Roman. Dennis also went to school with Kitten. They shared a lot of the same classes and he even lived two miles from where she grew up. I wanted to go kill him right now. I decided to do it when my cell phone went off. It was the diner calling.

“Hello?”

“Bain, you need to get down here. Kaitlin attacked Jessie and she ran across the street,” Daniel said quickly.

I was out of my chair as soon as I heard him say Kaitlin. I ran in a blur and by the end of his sentence, I was in my truck. I threw the phone down on the seat and sped all the way to the diner.

If anyone had touched her, I’m going to kill them. I skidded to a halt in the lot and jumped out. I picked up her scent immediately and took off on foot. It led me all the way into the Reynolds yard. A police officer was there talking to Jeff. Jeff happened to be one of my workers at Lycan’s Cave.

“Where’s Kaitlin!” I demanded walking up.

Jeff and the officer both looked up startled. “Who?” Jeff asked.

“Her scent led me here. Where is she?” I demanded again getting right in his face.

“Hold on Mr. Winters,” the officer said carefully. He knew not to set me off. “Someone just stole his vehicle from the yard. And a woman just called dispatch and told them a girl with black hair was seen driving East out of town in his vehicle.”

I slammed the officer against his car with my fist tight in his shirt. “Don’t dare report this or I’ll make sure you never can talk again,” I growled. The young officer nodded his head knowing there was nothing he could do to stop me. Even those bullets in his gun. When I was shot at before, it felt like I was being tickled. The police knew me very well and I even worked with a few. Kade, Laven, Connor, and me are the towns very own front men.

I narrowed my eyes at Jeff knowing he knew to keep quite. With one last look at the young officer, I ran in a blur back to my truck. I stomped the gas heading east.

I knew what happened without even asking anyone. I should have talked to her first before leaving her at work. I thought I had time thinking no one would hurt her. Her emotions were heightened to the point she blew up. Being newly mated to a Lycan can be rough. So I’ve been told by my mother. She also told me that everyone is different and I should treat it as such. That’s why I didn’t talk with her. Kitten seemed fine when I dropped her off.

I kept driving losing hope that I would find her. It was getting dusk dark and I was going insane. How could she leave me? What was she running from? Me?

I punched the dashboard busting it into pieces. “Fuck!” I yelled. I was getting angrier by the minute. Wherever she is, I will find her! Even if her emotions were everywhere, she should have never left me. Who leaves their mate?

I opened my eyes and jumped up startled. The room I was in wasn’t familiar at first until I remembered what happened earlier. I looked at the dirty white clock on the wall. It was already night, a little past nine.

My stomach growled in need of food. I looked out the dingy orange curtains to see if anyone was out there. As far as I could tell only a few cars were parked in the lot and no one hanging around. I opened the door and locked it before walking across the street to the convenience store.

The clerk greeted me as I came in and then took notice of my clothes. She eyed me warily as I walked to the snacks. I looked down at myself and was taken back with what I saw. I had blood spatters on my white shirt and knuckles. My knees were filthy with black and brown stains.

I hurried and grabbed a few snacks and paid quickly. I ran back across the street to my room embarrassed by my appearance.

When I walked in, something felt different. It felt right and most of the emotions seemed to fade that was flowing through me. My heart didn’t hurt as bad as it has been without Bain.

I sat down on the bed and tore open the bag of Doritos.

“You thought you could run from me?” A deep voice rumbled from the doorway of the bathroom.

I jumped from the scare and fell into the floor. Bain was standing there with fury burning in his bright green eyes.

“Bain,” I whispered getting to my feet. He stalked toward me like an animal about to move in for the kill. I knew not to run but I did back up slowly. “Please,” I breathed.

“You left me, Kaitlin!” he yelled slamming his fist through the wall. I jerked back feeling as if I’ve been slapped. He has never called me that. He was beyond furious.

“I’m sorry. I had to,” I defended but I knew I wasn’t making any sense to him. He was so close to me I didn’t know what to say.

“You don’t get to leave me!” he yelled only a few feet in front of me. “No matter what happens in life, we fight it together! That’s what mates do!”

“I know that! But what I did today, you wouldn’t want me,” I cried.

Bain rubbed the back of his neck in frustration. “I will always want you, Kitten.”

I shook my head non-stop not wanting to believe him. I attacked a girl today and hurt her badly over being jealous and protective. I wanted to kill her and even planned on it if Daniel hadn’t pulled me off. I have become a monster even I couldn’t stand.

“I love you, you idiot. I’ve loved you since the day you served me cold steak.  And I will continue to love you the same if not stronger every day of my life,” he said more calmly. He reached out and pulled me to him with his green eyes burning into mine. “I love you, Kitten,” he whispered against my lips.

“I love you too,” I whispered back. Bain surprised me by pulling back instead of kissing me.

“Good. Now go get your ass in the truck,” he ordered. I nodded with my head hung in shame. He loved me and I left him. Now that he’s here, it all seemed so stupid. Why did I run away instead of running into his arms? All those silly emotions were gone now.

I walked out and looked around for his truck. I finally spotted it parked on the side of the building where there was hardly any light. I climbed in without his help as he turned the key in at the front desk. I noticed his truck dashboard was split and pieces of it were everywhere. I knew I was the result of that. I also knew the fight wasn’t over. Bain’s not the type to let things go.

When Bain got in, he cut his eyes to me. “You do know you fucked up right?”
