Chapter 11: Meeting Him

Hey Everyone, I'm number 2 on werewolf stories and I couldn't have gotten there without you. Thank you so much!!! I love you all. This chapter has a surprise at the end so I hope you enjoy.

The next afternoon, Bain and I was downstairs eating lunch, when someone knocks on the door. I looked at Bain puzzled but he didn’t pay me any attention. He walked out throwing his hand up for me to stay. Of course I didn’t! I was too stubborn for that.

Bain opens the door and there stands a beautiful woman with long brown wavy hair. She was tall wearing eight inch heels. She was also wearing a short cut dress that could barely contain her ass.

“Jenna, what are you doing here?” Bain asked exasperated.

She walked in without being asked and turned back around facing Bain. I couldn’t help but be jealous over her being near my Bain. I didn’t even know why she was here but I wanted to beat her senseless.

“Is he here?” she asked bluntly.

I walked over to Bain and her gaze settled on me. Her pretty face scrunched up in an ugly snarl all of a sudden. “Who the hell is she?” she demanded like she owned the place.

Bain was in her face before I could even react. “Watch it, Jenna. That’s my mate,” he growled.

“Oh, sorry about that. He’s been ignoring me and I thought he has already found him someone else,” she said looking at me over Bain’s shoulder.

I had no freaking clue what she was talking about. All I knew was I didn’t like her one bit, and not just because she was half naked in front of my man. There was something about her that was off.

Someone was coming down the steps and we all looked up to see who it was. Kade caught Jenna’s glare and you could tell he wanted to turn back around. His face turned hard and his eyes darkened.

Bain took my arm and began leading me away when I wanted to stay and see what this was about. As we entered the kitchen, I heard Kade ask her what she was doing here.  I tried listening in on the conversation but Bain gave me a stern look.

“Stop it, Kitten. If you want to know who she is, then ask me.”

“Who is she?”

“She used to be Kade’s girlfriend years ago but she wanted to be marked and he didn’t want her as his mate. He told her long ago that it wasn’t happening and she accepted. Now she has a problem with it again,” he explained.

It was suddenly quite in the next room so I peeked out. They both were gone and I felt a weight lift off my shoulders.

“I don’t trust her,” I said bluntly.

Bain smirked. “Neither do I, baby. But it’s Kade’s life. I try to stay out of it.”

Bain grabbed the two sandwiches he fixed for Dennis and I grabbed him a soda. We both went down to the basement and Bain showed me where the room was. It was all the way in the back, behind the huge basketball court. Bain unlocked it and walked in.

I felt kind of strange going in since I had no clue of what he was doing before we came. I looked around from the door and seen him relaxing on the bed, watching TV. He looked ten times better than he did just yesterday. He still had bruising on his face but the blood was gone.

Dennis sat up quickly when he spotted the food in Bain’s hand. “Thank you,” he said politely. Bain just grunted like he could care less.

I set the soda down on his table and looked at Bain. He was just standing there like he was trying to decide if he should say something or not. He must have finally come to the decision because he began talking to Dennis.

“Roman called,” he said and Dennis froze with the sandwich still in his mouth. “He wants to meet me. I’m waiting on him to call back and let me know where. Do you know what his plan would be?”

Dennis set the sandwich down and glanced at me before looking back at Bain. “No, I don’t. When is this supposed to happen?” he asked curiously. But I saw a slight of worry in his eyes.

“I’ll know when I talk to him,” Bain said.

“Did he say what the meeting is about?” Dennis asked picking the sandwich back up.

Bain gave him a stupid look. “No, but I’m pretty sure it’s about Kaitlin. If he doesn’t meet me, then I’m going to him.” Dennis nodded and scarfed down his first sandwich. We left after that and went back upstairs. Laven was just walking in the front door with Connor behind him. Both of them were dressed in their black gear.

“Where do you go when you dress like that?” I asked Bain.

He took my hand and pulled me upstairs with him. “It’s another part of our jobs, Kitten. We keep this town safe by keeping all the drug dealers, murderers, and thieves from corrupting our people. We are the Governments front men. They give us free reign and we give them the criminals.”

My worries became bigger hearing that. Bain was constantly putting his life on the line. There’s no telling how many crazy people he has to deal with. What if one day, he ends up hurt or worse? I shivered from the thought and tried thinking of something else. Then, Addie popped in my head. I haven’t got to talk to her in a while. I haven’t even got to see KC.

“Hey Bain, I need you to do me a favor,” I said smiling sweetly.

He pulled us in the office and closed the door. “With a smile like that, how can I resist,” he rumbled.

“I need a ride to Willow’s Point. I haven’t been in a while and it always makes me feel better when I get to talk with Addie,” I said shyly. I didn’t want him thinking I was crazy for talking to a grave stone.

Bain’s mood changed in an instant. “No,” he said too quick and a little bit rough.

“Well fine, I guess I’ll just walk then,” I rolled my eyes and stepped around him. He grabs my arm, stopping me from walking to the door.

“I said no,” he said sternly, eyeing me.

I jerked my arm from his grasp and narrowed my eyes. “No? We might be mates but it doesn’t give you the right to tell me where I can go. I’m not your child, Bain!” I growled.

Bain crossed his arms and stood between me and the door. I could tell no matter what I say, he was not budging. “You can get mad all you want Kitten, but you’re not leaving this house. You can go talk to Addie when everything goes back to normal,” he says calmly.

It was different seeing him this way. He wasn’t constantly growling at me over the least little thing. I kind of got used to him being an ass. I think I even missed it in some sort of weird way.

“No, I’m not putting my life on hold because of some crazy psycho is out there. I’ll be okay,” I pleaded, trying to change his mind.

Bain started shaking his head until the phone rang. He moved out of the way and answered the phone. “Yeah?” he barked roughly. He stayed silent for a minute, and then he agreed on something, hanging up.

“Was that Roman?”

Bain nodded and called Laven, Kade, and Connor in the office. When they all showed up, he got down to business. “Alright, Roman wants to meet tonight at ten at the entrance of Harper’s Cave. He wants me to come with Kaitlin but that’s not happening. So, Laven, you’re coming with me. Kade, you’re watching Dennis. And Connor, you got Kaitlin. The place is still surrounded but I’m going to have to take a few people with me so they will be more spaced out. I don’t want you to let your guard down for any reason. This could be a setup and we need to be prepared,” he said talking business.

As I watched him talk about their plans, I was over whelmed by fear. This was all happening too fast. I couldn’t lose Bain like I lost my parents. I needed him more than anything or anyone in the world. He is my world. There has to be something I can do! Something that wouldn’t get me in much trouble.

“Do you want me to go ahead and put Dennis in the cell?” Kade asked. Bain nodded and Kade left to do just that.

“What am I supposed to do with Kit?” Connor asked and then smirked at me.

I knew what he was thinking. The boy was addicted to playing pool. He couldn’t stand it that Bain is better than him at it. I shook my head and smiled slightly.

“Just keep her safe Connor. Keep her away from windows and doors as much as possible. The basement would be preferred. If something goes wrong, I can be here in ten minutes in wolf form.”

Bain turned and looked at me. “Kitten, do whatever Connor says and don’t give him any problems. Promise me you’ll behave?” he asked with his eyebrows lifted.

I rolled my eyes. It seems I do that a lot lately. I knew I was about to lie to him but I needed to protect him like he was protecting me. I would lay my life down for him. “Okay, Bain. I promise I’ll behave.”

He nodded and got back to making plans with Laven. Connor pulled me out of the office while a few other men I’ve never seen before go in and talk with Bain. It felt like I was being pushed aside but I understood it. My Bain was trying to keep me safe.

“I’m not going to torture you with playing pool right now but I do have something we can get into. I’ve actually been working on it in my spare time,” he said as I followed him to his room.

His room was almost like Bain’s except Connor’s was messy. He just didn’t care where he laid things. I looked around as Connor pulled out a remote controlled airplane from his closet. It looked pretty awesome. It was almost as big as his bed. My eyes widen as he sets it down.

“Wow Connor, what am I supposed to be helping you with?” I asked. Everything looked put together but I didn’t know anything about these things. My dad would build model cars in his spare time but this was huge compared to those.

“I’m putting a different motor on it right now but I thought you might want to paint and design it for me,” he said messing with a switch on the side of it.

Now I can definitely do that. It even sounded a little fun and will help me get my mind off of what Bain is planning down the hall. I’m sure that was Connor’s plan too. “Well, what are you waiting on? Get out the paint stuff and let’s get started,” I ordered.

Connor grinned and got on it. He was pulling all kinds of stuff out of the closet. By the time he was done, there shouldn’t have been anything left in there. He had spare parts, tools, paints, motor, design templates, and a rack to hang stuff on to dry.

We started and I took my time in picking out the right colors. I had to look around the room to see what colors he loved the most. When I settled on a white and navy blue plane, I began trying to think of something to help Bain out. But I kept coming up empty. I bet Dennis knew something but he just wasn’t remembering right away. I needed to get to Dennis soon. For now, we had a few more hours till ten.

Every minute that past, I looked at Connor’s door waiting on Bain to come and find me. I was beginning to think he already left. “Stop doing that! He’s not going to leave without seeing you first,” Connor said.

He reminded me of Bain so much when he got onto me. I flipped him off. “I can’t help it, Connor. It’s killing me that he’s going to meet this crazy guy. He could hurt Bain or worse, kill him.”

“You’re not giving my brother much credit, Kit. We have many eyes in this town. One is a camera that points directly to the cave from our bar. Plus, Bain is not stupid. He has dealt with much worse before.”

“How does that supposed to make me feel better?”

Connor laughed still tinkering with the motor. “I didn’t say it would. I’m just saying, we have defeated anyone that thinks to step on our toes. Just don’t worry so much. Nothing will be able to take him from you,” he promised looking at me.

I nodded but I was still afraid for Bain. We sat there for over an hour until Bain came in. He stopped and took in what we were doing. “Can I steal your partner for a few minutes?” he asked Connor, joking.

I got up before Connor even said anything. “Yeah, I guess. But don’t forget to return her. She still has to put the emblems on.”

I took Bain’s hand in mine and pulled him from the room to ours. As soon as the door shut, I wrapped my arms around his neck and brought him down to kiss him. He teased me by keeping his lips closed and squeezing my waist.

“Bain?” I whined. He opened up and pushed me against the door, dominating the kiss. My hands dropped to his shoulders to run down his chest. He swiftly grabbed my wrists and pulled them above my head, holding them in one hand.

“We have plenty of time for that when I get back, Kitten,” he said roughly. He lowered his head to my shoulder, where he bit me. He gently swept his lips across it and finally kissed it. I shivered and felt desire swelling up in all the right places. I needed him right now.

“I love you, Kitten,” he whispered.

“I love you too, Bain,” I whispered back.

He pushed back, letting me go in the process. I looked at him then and saw he was wearing his black outfit. He was so damn sexy in it. There was just something about a man in a uniform that turned me on. Well, this man anyways.

“When are you leaving me?” I ask.

Bain sighs and looks at his watch. “Right now, actually. We want to be at Lycan’s Cave a few hours before Roman shows up.”

I nod and wrap my arms around him. “Please be safe and careful,” I said against his chest. Bain kissed the top of my head and left me standing there. I probably stood there for twenty minutes running all kind of scenario’s in my head. Finally Connor stood in the door frame and reached out his arm. I went to it and he held me to him.

“It will be okay Kit. You will get used to him leaving for missions before long. You will always worry but that depressed look you got going on won’t always be there,” he assured me. “Now, we’ve got a plane to finish and I have to keep a good eye on you,” he said walking us to his room.

I pulled free and wiped my face. I hadn’t even realized that I was crying until it tickled my chin.

Connor and I finished working on the airplane two hours later. The paint wasn’t completely dry so we went downstairs for a snack. I wasn’t hungry at all being worried non-stop but Connor was. He popped a pizza in the oven and sat down.

“I know it sucks hanging with me. One day, if Bain will ever let you leave by yourself, I’ll show you my other toys,” he said smiling and bouncing his eyebrows up and down.

I laughed. “Please tell me you’re talking about other airplanes,” I joked.

“No, my bikes. Bain has some too out in the garage. Those suckers are fast. We built the engines ourselves,” He said reminiscing.

“I don’t really like bikes. There pretty to look at but they scare me. Do you and Bain rebuild every motor you get a hold of?”

“Yep. Our Dad taught us at an early age.”

The timer finally went off a few minutes later for the pizza. Connor pulled it out and cut it up. He offered me a piece but I declined. I needed to get to Dennis and see if he knows anything else. While Connor was in the middle of eating, I told him I was going to the bathroom and he nodded. He never even suspected me of sneaking outside.

As soon as I walked out of the kitchen, I power walked to the back of the house. I opened the window and stopped. What the hell was I doing? Kade was out here or underground, watching Dennis. What the hell, Bain’s life is worth me getting yelled at anyway.

I ran across the ground and hurried in the building, not even closing the door behind me. Kade was nowhere to be found. I walked down the steps slowing down because Kade would have by now heard me. At the bottom step, he was lying there sprawled out, face down.

I was about to scream when I was grabbed from behind and their hand covered my mouth. I fought as hard as I could, even going limp. Nothing was breaking this guy’s hold. Then the same female, Jenna from earlier came out of one of the open cells. She had that same ugly snarl on her face.

“She’s yours now. Don’t forget to pay me,” she said and walked out, taking her time.

I cried out behind his hand and tried scratching him. He held me tightly and breathed in my ear. “Poor Kaitlin… Kaitlin the naïve… Always trying to find the good in people when she’s surrounded by evil.”

I froze. I knew that voice so well now. I looked at cell three and seen it was opened. Dennis Lexington had me. The one who I thought made a bad choice. But I was wrong. He let me go long enough to turn me around and began tying my wrists together with a piece of sheet.

“Roman’s not the one after me is he?” I cried, not wanting to believe Dennis is crazy.

His blue eyes glanced up to mine and he shook his head. “No, Kaitlin. I am. You’re mine and always have been.”

I screamed and a fist flew and hit me in the jaw. I felt myself being caught in his arms and then nothing.

Don't forget to Vote and Comment. And sorry about making you all believe it was Roman but I do love a twist. Hahahaha!
