Two birds, one stone *part 1* (AU, Assassin!WillNE)
Y/N's P.O.V
"Morning." I spoke to Mia, making her smile at me as I walked into the office and shut the glass door behind me.
"How you doing on this fine morning?" she asked, following me with her gaze as I sat down opposite her at the long glass table.
"Wondering what's so special about this case that I had to be called in for it." I teased. Mia smirked and nodded as she slid a photograph across the table to make it land in front of me. I looked down at it, my eyes widening slightly as the photo was of an admittedly very attractive man, his brown hair, sharp jawline and blue eyes making him extremely nice to look at.
"This is William Lenney. He's from Newcastle, like you, but he also lives in London, again like you. Spotting the similarities?" she asked.
"Aye, course, but why am I killing him?" I scoffed as I looked at her.
"He's part of the rival agency. He's got someone on the inside of our agency, which has allowed him to develop a habit of getting to our assignments before our people do, killing the target and then killing our people. We've lost about twenty million pounds worth of failed hits and about fifteen agents since he came onto the scene. He needs to be stopped." She nodded. I sighed and looked at the photo. It wasn't going to be fun killing this very attractive guy, but a job was a job.
"Why can't we just kill whoever the mole is?" I questioned.
"We're working on that, but we still need Lenney gone, he's too much of a threat to us now. We need to take both parties out." She nodded. I sighed and returned it.
"Y/N, before you take this mission, I will warn you that it's a long-haul one, and I'm talking years. Lenney isn't a trusting man by all accounts, he won't even let you get close to him until he knows you well. And I mean very well." She stated. My eyebrow raised at her.
"Mia, are you saying that I have to actually be with him, and then kill him after years together, if I manage to seduce him? I'm telling you that this is a disaster waiting to happen." I scoffed.
"You have no other choice, Y/N. I can guarantee that you won't get a chance to get near him unless you seduce him. Then, after you're close but before you get too emotionally attached to finish the job, you kill him. Simple enough." She shrugged.
"Says she who doesn't have to seduce and then kill him." I nodded, making her smirk and wink.
"You in?" she asked. I sighed and bit my lip as I looked down at the photo one last time. More specifically looking into the blue eyes that hopefully I'd see in person soon enough. Sure, it would be hard to kill him when the time came, but at least I'd have a few months of being with the gorgeous man. Well, if the plan worked.
"Fuck it, I'll do it." I nodded.
"That's my girl. We've rented out an apartment for you in Canary Wharf, it's not in the same high-rise as Lenney, but it's not far. You leave tomorrow. See you in a few years." She smiled as I stood up.
"Wish me luck." I nodded.
"You don't need luck." She encouraged.
"Fuckin' right I don't." I smirked, making her laugh and nod as I left the room.
Will's P.O.V
"Oy, oy, lad." Will smiled at James as he walked into the office and shut the glass doors behind him.
"You alright, Will?" James returned, following Will with his gaze as the Geordie boy sat down opposite him at the long glass table.
"Aye. Ready for my next mission." He nodded. James returned it as he slid a photograph across the table, making it land in front of Will. His eyes widened slightly as he studied the girl in the photo. She was a beautiful lass, her dyed red hair lapping around her shoulders and framing the face that held a pair of beautiful brown eyes and a pair of soft lips.
"I hate when I have to kill the pretty ones, like." Will mumbled before looking back at James.
"Right, what's she done, then?" he asked as he leant back in his chair and crossed his arms over his chest.
"Nothing, yet. But, her name is Y/N Y/L/N, and her agency knows about the mole that we have within them, and they know about you. She's been assigned to kill you, which ironically we know because of the mole. Your mission is to kill her first. This one is survival of the fittest." James nodded. Will's eyebrows furrowed.
"But, she knows what I look like. I won't get within a mile of her without being shanked first." He scoffed.
"Which is why you're going to seduce her." James nodded. Will's eyes widened slightly and he sat forward in his chair.
"Go on." He nodded.
"She doesn't know that you know who she is. So, you meet her, let her get close, let her think that you trust her completely. After a year or two, when she no longer wants to kill you because she's undoubtedly caught feelings for you, you strike first. You kill her first." James explained. Will sighed and flicked his eyes down to the photo.
"I don't have much choice in this, do I?" he mumbled.
"Not really, no. She's just as good as you are, so I'm afraid that if you don't get to her first, she will kill you." James stated. Will sighed and nodded before looking up at his friend.
"Fuck it, I'll do it." He spoke.
"Good man. You don't have to go anywhere since she's also in Canary Wharf. Issue is that we don't know where. Just carry on about your daily life, they have eyes on you, so I'll sure that she'll find you." He nodded.
"Because that's not creepy at all." Will teased as he stood up.
"You're the one who signed up to the life of an assassin. Good luck. Hopefully I'll see you again." James nodded.
"Aye, you will, lad. Don't worry about that." Will smirked cockily, making James chuckle and shake his head as Will left the room.
Will walked into the nightclub, the stench of expensive alcohol and the thumping music hitting him as soon as he stepped foot into the building. He looked around, seeing if the girl that he was meant to kill was here already. Will knew that they were watching him, and he figured that he should try to meet her in a club. After all, Will did his best work in clubs. He went to the bar and raised his hand, ordering a drink before subtly scanning his eyes over the club and leaning against the bar.
"Mate, I can confirm that she's there." James spoke into the chip that was in his ear.
"Where?" Will questioned, looking more closely at the crowds in the club to try and find her. "I don't know, we don't have eyes on her. But she's definitely there. Be on the look-out." James responded. Will nodded to himself, thanking the bartender as a beer was placed on the bar in front of him. But before he could pick it up, someone bumped straight into his back.
"Oh, my god, I'm so sorry." Will turned around, and his heart stopped. His eyes widened slightly and he hoped that she hadn't noticed. The girl who had just bumped into him, was Y/N. And fuck, she was even more beautiful in person. This wasn't going to be easy.
Y/N's P.O.V
I stood on the dance floor of the club, swinging my hips and having fun whilst I waited for Will Lenney to get to the club. Suddenly, a pair of rough hands grabbed my waist from behind, making me roll my eyes but plaster a fake smile onto my lips as I turned around to face the asshole who had just touched me. He gave me a sleazy smirk, making me return it fakely before leaning up and putting my lips to his ear.
"I need to go to the bathroom!" I yelled over the music.
"Hurry back, babe." He returned, making me shudder inside as I nodded to him and moved out of his grip.
"Gross." Mia winced into my ear as I left the dance-floor and headed to the bar.
"You're not the one who he had his slimy hands on." I grimaced.
"And I'm fucking grateful for that-shit, showtime, Y/N, we have eyes on Lenney. At the bar to the right of you." My eyes widened slightly and I looked down the bar. Sure enough, there the guy was. Standing against the bar, sipping a beer and scanning his eyes over the crowd. I had to admit, even from this distance, he was more attractive in person.
"What play are you going with?" Mia asked as I pushed off from the bar and started to strut towards him.
"Hmm. Accidental collision, I think." I nodded to myself.
"Oh, I love that one. Good luck." She spoke into my ear, making me smile as I got to Will, whose back was turned to me. Here goes nothing, I thought as I walked straight into his back.
"Oh, my god, I'm so sorry." I gulped as he turned around to look at me. His eyes widened slightly, as did mine. Wow. He was even more attractive when he was right in front of me. This was going to be hard.
"You're alright, pet. It was an accident." He smiled kindly. If only he knew that I knew what type of person he really was.
"I'm Y/N." I smiled as I outstretched my hand.
"Will. Lovely to meet ya." He returned as he shook my hand.
"And you." I nodded. "Can I get you a drink?" he asked.
"I should be getting you a drink, as a way of apology for bumping into you." I smiled, making him laugh and shake his head.
"I insist, lass." He reassured. I smiled and bit my lip.
"Okay then, Will. You can buy me a drink." I nodded. He returned it as we both sat down at the bar and ordered drinks, my gaze on Will as we started to talk and laugh. Fuck. This was going to be a lot harder than I thought.
