Time stops for no one *part 2* (ft. Mia and IamAlexx)
Will's P.O.V
"I'm home." Will spoke, just loud enough for Mia to be able to hear as he shut the door to their apartment.
"Where have you been? I got home hours ago." Mia scoffed in return, Will assumed from the kitchen. He rolled his eyes, not in the mood to have another fight with his wife of a year as he headed into the kitchen.
"I just went out. Filmed a video with George and then went shopping." He lied, looking at Mia as she stood by the stove, cooking whatever was for dinner.
"Where are the bags, then? I don't believe you, Will." She scoffed.
"Mia, why does it fucking matter, man? You don't need to know where I am every second of the fucking day." He spat, tired of this same old fight.
"It matters because I need to know that you weren't with her." She snapped back. Will sighed and looked down.
Will and Y/N sat in the café, tears streaming down the Geordie girl's face as she allowed Will to clasp her hands into his. He sighed and looked at her, tears pricking his own eyes as she looked down.
"I can't do it anymore, Will. I can't be with him anymore. I'm not happy, I'm not in love with him. I haven't been for a long time." She choked and shook her head, her words referring to Alex. Will gulped and looked at her.
"I know, pet, I know. I feel the same about Mia too." He admitted quietly. Both Will and Y/N had quickly realised after marrying Mia and Alex that they'd both chosen the wrong person to promise the rest of their lives with. They hadn't said it yet, but they both knew it. They were in love with each other. And so, since they had gotten married, Will a year ago and Y/N nine months ago, they had met up regularly to try and decide what to do, and at the very least talk about the most recent issues with their respective spouses, given that neither of them wanted to hurt Mia and Alex and so it was nowhere near as simple as just leaving them. Whilst Mia suspected Will of cheating on her with Y/N, which he guess that he was doing to a certain extent since she was now his only emotional support, Y/N was suspecting that Alex was actually cheating on her. With who, though, she wasn't sure. Y/N looked back up at Will.
"Will, I can't go on with this. Tell me what to do, please. I can't keep going on knowing that Alex is cheating and that Mia doesn't trust you. What do we do?" she choked. Will looked at her.
"Honestly, lass, I don't know. All I know is that we can't go on like this. I hate to say this, but it's going to get to the point where Mia and Alex are bound to get hurt. Mia already thinks that I'm cheating with you, and Alex is obviously unhappy enough to shag someone else, so I think that we've reached that point. I think that it's time to say something." He nodded. Y/N's wet eyes widened slightly.
"Stop taking the piss." She gulped.
"I'm serious, pet. We can't go on like this, and it's not fair on Mia or Alex for us to carry on like this either. I say that we do it." He nodded. She choked again, her eyes wavering as she pulled Will into a tight hug. He returned it, wanting nothing more than to kiss her, but the pair had agreed not to kiss or go any further than hugging whilst they were still married to their other halves.
"What else have we got to lose? I'm ready." She nodded into his neck. He returned it, pulling apart and giving her a smile.
Will leant against the arm of the sofa, his hands on either side of his legs as he looked down and avoided Mia's stare.
"Were you or were you not with her? Were you or were you not with Y/N?" Mia asked. Will clenched his jaw and looked up at her.
"Yes. I was." He admitted. Her eyes wavered and she sighed.
"So, yeah. You are cheating on me." She scoffed.
"Depends on how you define it, Mia. We don't do anything sexual, we just talk. We don't have sex, we don't kiss-."
"Okay, but do you want to have sex with her? And do you tell her more than you tell me?" she cut him off. Will sighed as his eyes wavered.
"Yes. And yes." He nodded. Mia scoffed again and shook her head, looking around the apartment in a hopeless attempt to look anywhere but Will.
"I fucking knew, as well. We've been together for five years, married for one, and I've known for almost the entire time. I thought that when you proposed, that was your way of closing the page on whatever crush you had on her. But obviously, I was wrong. Do you even love me?" she asked with a shake of her head. Will gulped, knowing that what he was about to say would end everything. He just hoped that Y/N was upholding her end of the bargain too.
"I used to love you." He stated honestly, his eyes timidly flicking up to his wife's face to gauge her response. She returned the nod, her eyes wavering as a tear left her eye. She nodded before leaving the kitchen and heading towards their bedroom, making Will's eyes widen.
"Wait, Mia, what are you doing?" he gulped as he shot up and went after her.
"What do you think I'm doing? You've just admitted that you don't love me anymore, so I'm leaving. Go chase your fucking childish crush on Y/N." she snapped, grabbing an empty suitcase and starting to throw her clothes into it.
"Do you really think that I'd convince you to leave me over a fucking crush, Mia? You want the truth? I'm in love with her. I have been for years." He admitted.
"And I'll be honest with you too, Will. I've known that for years too. You were absolutely shit at hiding it." She nodded. Will's eyes wavered and he sighed at Mia's confession. Obviously, he hadn't been great at hiding his real feelings for his best friend. But why had Mia still married him? That didn't matter now. Will gulped, looking down at the ground with broken eyes as Mia grabbed the bag and stormed past him, soon leaving the apartment. He sighed, a tear leaving his eye at the sight of his now empty apartment. He was sure that Y/N would turn up soon, as he trusted that she had held up her end of the deal. But right now, all he could do was hope.
Y/N's P.O.V
I lay on my side in bed, Will's words swirling around my mind as I tried to take a nap before Alex got home. I knew that Will was right and that we were both making the right decision, but confronting Alex about his affair was something that I'd been dreading for months. But now was the time. And if I was right, I could finally be with Will. At least, that's what I hoped. I closed my eyes, a tear leaving my eye as I heard the bedroom door open.
"There you are, I was getting worried." Alex's voice chuckled, followed by the bed dipping next to me as he sat down and his hand landed on my shoulder. My eyes shot open. I couldn't feel the coolness of his wedding ring against my skin. I looked over my shoulder at him, making him smile at me as he started to lean down for a kiss.
"Alex, why aren't you wearing my wedding ring?" I whispered, stopping him in place just an inch from my lips. He gulped, his eyes widening slightly.
"Um...I took it off to do the washing and must have forgotten to put it back on, nothing sinister." He chuckled nervously. I studied him, barely returning the kiss as he closed the gap and gently pecked my lips before sitting back up and starting to undo his cuff-links. I sat up, my eyebrows furrowed as I looked at my husband. He was wearing a suit. A suit. My Youtuber husband, who hadn't worn a suit since our wedding and usually spent even our dates in joggers and an old t-shirt, was wearing a suit.
"Alex, who are they?" I asked quietly. Once again, Alex stopped his actions immediately. He absolutely reeked of guilt.
"I don't know what you're on about, babe." He shrugged as he stood up, me following his actions with my eyes.
"Yes, you do. Please just be honest with me. I know that you're unhappy with me, and I know that you've cheated. All I want to know is with who." I choked and shook my head. Despite the fact that I'd known for half a year that he was cheating, it still hurt to know that he'd been lying to me. Though, to be fair, I'd been lying to him for years about him being the love of my life. Alex sighed and dropped his head as he gripped the edge of the Chester draws.
"His name is Jonathan. I met him seven months ago, in the shops, of all places. It was innocent enough, but he recognised me, and asked if he could have my number." He admitted. My eyes widened slightly.
"If he knew you, then he knew that you were married." I choked. He nodded and looked at me through his fringe.
"That's why I'm not wearing my wedding ring. It makes both of us feel better to not have a material reminder of what we're doing." He admitted. I gulped, tears now leaving my eyes. This is what I wanted, but it had hurt so much more than I thought that it would. I stood from the bed, Alex following me with his gaze as I grabbed a suitcase from our wardrobe and chucked it onto the bed.
"Jesus, Y/N, don't do this." Alex scoffed as he grabbed my wrist, though I quickly pulled it out of his grip as I looked at him.
"It's fine, Alex. I'm hurt, of course, but it's okay. You want to know why? Because I'm in love with someone else too." I admitted. Alex's eyes widened.
"What?" he scoffed. I nodded and bit my lip.
"I've been in love with Will for years. And he's reciprocated those feelings for years. Why we married other people, I have no fucking clue. I'm so sorry, Alex, but I don't love you. I don't think that I ever did." I choked and shook my head. Alex sighed, giving me a reassuring smile as he nodded.
"That's okay, Y/N. I don't think that I ever loved you either." He admitted. I bit my lip, this conversation still ripping my heart apart as I grabbed enough clothes to last a few days before zipping the suitcase shut and picking it up. I looked at Alex.
"I'm sorry." I shook my head.
"So am I." he nodded, giving me a reassuring smile. I returned it, tears still leaving my eyes as I grabbed my suitcase and left the apartment.
I stood in front of Will's door, my heartbeat audible in my ears as my closed fist refused to knock against the clean white door. I was sure that Will had held up his end of the deal, but what if he hadn't? What if Will opened the door, only to shut it in my face because Mia was still there? Or worse, what if Mia opened the door? Would I be able to quickly explain away the fact that I had a suitcase? I could probably sell the excuse that Alex and I had had a bad fight, but that still was wishful considering that I clearly had enough clothes to last several days. I gulped, my heart slowing down as my mind told me to just trust Will. Whatever was meant to happen would happen. If Will and I were meant to be together like we both thought that we were, he would open the door. I had to trust in that. I swallowed my nerves, taking one last deep breath as my fist knocked gently against the shut door. I chewed on my lip as I waited for the door to open, every fibre of my being praying that Will would be on the other side. Suddenly, the door opened, making me choke and my eyes waver. Will stood there, his eyes also red from crying but a small smile curled onto his lips as he saw me.
"Oh, thank god." He choked as he immediately took my face in his hands and pressed our lips together softly. I returned it and hung my arms over his shoulders, my body immediately turning to putty with his touch. After all, I had waited years for this moment. And it was finally happening. Will broke the kiss but touched our foreheads, both of our smiles from ear to ear as we just looked at each other. Will grabbed my suitcase and pushed it behind him, making it roll into the apartment. My eyebrows furrowed as to why he'd done it like that, but I quickly got the hint as his arm swiped my legs from underneath me, making me squeal as he picked me up bridal style and carried me into the apartment, his foot shutting the door behind us. He carried me to his sofa and gently put me down so that I was lying on the sofa and he was lying in between my legs. We just stared at each other, my bottom lip between my teeth as we studied everything that we thought perfect of the other person. Will looked down at me with more love in his eyes than I'd ever seen, telling me that we'd definitely made the right decision. We'd be happy now. All it took was time. Even if it didn't stop for anyone. It had stopped for us.
