Romantic gestures
I sat in mine and Will's apartment, having a girls' night in with Gee, Aria and Mia whilst the boys were out at the pub. As much as I loved Will, Aria loved James and Gee loved Josh, we had all agreed six months ago to have one night a month where the boys would meet up and the girls would meet up. It was a good chance to talk through any issues that we were having with our other halves, as well as just having light-hearted girly gossip.
"So, yeah, that's how James lost our bet and why I ended up being allowed to kick him in the nuts." Aria smiled, all of us laughing as she took a sip of her wine.
"I need to talk Josh into that." Gee chuckled.
"So, Y/N, what's happening with you and Will?" Mia asked. I nodded and forced a smile onto my lips.
"Y-yeah, we're good." I nodded. The girls looked at each other, eyebrows raised in scepticism.
"You're such a bad liar, hun." Aria chuckled. I sighed and put my glass down, making the girls look at me.
"I just, I love him, of course I do. But he's so...unromantic." I sighed.
"Oh, thank god, I thought that you were about to say that he's shit in bed." Gee teased, making me chuckle and shake my head as Aria and Mia laughed.
"No, we're fine in that department. But, I don't know. He never pulls off any romantic gestures, he never surprises me with anything. Don't get me wrong, I love him regardless, but the occasional bunch of flowers or breakfast in bed would be nice, you know?" I asked.
"We get you, honey. You don't expect it all, all of the time, but every so often would be nice." Mia nodded, making me return it.
"Yeah. Like, when we were out the other nice with youse." I stated.
I stood on the dancefloor in the club with Aria, both of us swinging our hips and having the time of our lives. Suddenly, James appeared behind Aria and gently put his hands on her waist, making me give her a wink and laugh as she wriggled her eyebrows in return before starting to dance instead with James. I made my way through the mass of sweaty bodies and to the bar where my own boyfriend was stood.
"You alright, lass?" Will asked, leaning down and pecking my lips.
"Aye." I nodded, smiling at him before looking into the crowd again, my eyes falling on James and Aria dancing closely.
"James and Aria look like they're having fun." I spoke as I tried to hint to Will that I wanted to dance with him.
"Aye, they do." He nodded in agreement as he sipped his beer. I rolled my eyes at his naivety as I fully turned my body to face him.
"Will, can we dance?" I asked bluntly. His eyes widened slightly.
"Aw, na, pet, you're alright, I don't want to." He sighed and shook his head. I returned the sigh, rolling my eyes slightly at my boyfriend before disappearing back into the crowd to find Mia instead.
"I appreciate the fact that he didn't want to dance, but I did, dancing for a single song wouldn't have killed him." I sighed.
"I get you. A good compromise would have been to dance for one song and then he could go back to drinking." Gee nodded.
"Honestly, Y/N, I think that you should just tell him how you feel. You're not asking for the world, you're asking for a small romantic gesture every so often. Really, he's your boyfriend, not your friend, so he should be doing that anyway." Aria shrugged.
"You think? I'm not being too anal about it?" I gulped.
"Not at all. It's better that he knows and that you give him the chance to do something about it than you don't say anything and he continues without realising that there's an issue." Mia nodded. I sighed and returned it.
"Alright then. When he gets home, I'll tell him." I decided.
"Attagirl." Gee chuckled, making us all smile and laugh as we clinked our glasses.
I sat on the sofa, watching TV and waiting for Will to get home. The girls had left half an hour ago, and so my brunette boyfriend should be walking through the door any moment now, I figured. As if on cue, the door opened and he walked in, giving me a warm smile as he did.
"Alright, love." He greeted, shutting the door and walking into the living room.
"How was the pub?" I asked. He nodded as he sat down next to me on the sofa and immediately put his hand on my thigh.
"Aye, it was good. Didn't talk about much, like, mainly just planned the next Eboys video." He chuckled.
"Will, the entire point of these nights is that we can all relax for a few hours and get away from our other halves who drive us absolutely fuckin' mental." I teased.
"Better not be fuckin' talking about me, lass." He smirked, making me giggle as he gently tickled my side before pulling me fully into the warmth of his body. I sighed and let my smile dip as I remembered what the girls and I had talked about at our night. I gulped and looked at Will, making him return the glance.
"You okay?" he chuckled.
"Aye, I just, I need to talk to you about something that's been on my mind." I nodded. His eyebrows furrowed.
"Go on, you know that you can tell is anything." He reassured. I gulped and nodded.
"I, erm...would like you to be a bit more romantic at times...not all of the time, I feel like that's a bit too much to ask, but from time to time." I spoke. His eyes widened slightly.
"You don't think that I'm romantic?" he scoffed. I sighed and looked down.
"It's like the other night, when we were out with the others and I wanted to dance but you didn't, so we didn't dance. You couldn't dance for one song?" I asked. Will sighed and looked at me apologetically.
"Alright, pet, I get ya. So, what other things constitute as romantic gestures, like?" he asked.
"Well, um, I don't know. Sending me flowers at work, breakfast in bed every so often, spontaneous dates, stuff like that." I nodded. He returned it and looked at me.
"That's the only issue that we have?" he asked hopefully.
"Course, Will. It's not even that much of an issue, I don't love you any less for it. I just, I mentioned it to the girls and they said that I wasn't being fair on you if I didn't tell you." I explained. He nodded in agreement, his thumb on my thigh gently rubbing against my skin.
"Na, I appreciate you telling is. Alright, lass. I can't promise that every day I'll be Prince Charmin', like, but I'll certainly try." He promised.
"That's all I'm asking for, thank you." I smiled before leaning in and kissing him.
I sat in Alex's room, both of us sat in front of his camera as we filmed his most recent video.
"Hello, everyone, I'm Alex and welcome to another video. As you can see, I am joined by a female that isn't usually here, but who you all know." Alex spoke as he looked at me.
"Hey, everyone, how's it gannin'?" I smiled.
"You can tell that you're Will's girlfriend." He teased.
"Oy, I'm from Newcastle too." I chuckled.
"Anyway, today, we're having a look at-." Alex was cut off by a knock on his door. We looked up as George walked in with a massive bunch of flowers, making both mine and Alex's eyebrows furrow.
"George, we're in the middle of filming." Alex scoffed.
"I know, mate, sorry, but these just arrived for Y/N." he nodded. My eyes widened as I looked at Alex.
"Is this part of the video?" I asked.
"Not at all, I have absolutely no idea what's going on." He shook his head. My eyebrows furrowed more as I took the flowers from George. I took the small note from the flowers and read it.
Love ya, lass – W x
My heart immediately filled with love as I bit my lip and tried not to smile.
"They're from Will, aren't they?" Alex asked. I nodded, my lip still in between my teeth and my eyes still on the beautiful flowers in front of me.
"You too loved up now to finish the video?" he teased. I chuckled and shook my head as I gently put the flowers out of shot on the desk before looking back at Alex.
"I'm going to have the edit the fuck out of this now." He sighed.
"Leave it in. it's sweet." I nodded, making him chuckle and shake his head as we continued to film the video.
"Will? I'm home!" I yelled as I shut the front door, my flowers in my spare hand.
"I'm in the kitchen!" he shouted back. My eyebrows furrowed. Will never cooked. And when he did, it tended not to end too well. I walked into the apartment, my eyebrows raising as he was stood at the hob, cooking what I assumed was some sort of pasta.
"You're making dinner? Are you sure that that's safe?" I teased.
"Ha-ha." He fake-laughed before nodding to my hand.
"You got my first romantic gesture, then." He spoke. I smiled and nodded as I put my spare hand on his chest, his hand that wasn't using a wooden spoon to stir the pasta sauce curling around my waist.
"Thank you. I love them, and I love that you're making an effort." I nodded. He gave me a small smile and returned the nod before puckering his lips. I took the hint and leant up to kiss him before moving out of his arms and going to put the flowers into water.
My eyes fluttered open slowly, a yawn leaving my lips as I gradually came to. My eyes immediately squinted as my body was facing the uncovered windows of mine and Will's apartment, allowing the sunlight to stream in unfiltered. Speaking of Will, I couldn't feel his arm around my waist like it usually was when I woke up. Suddenly, I heard the bedroom door open, making me look over my shoulder. My eyes widened.
"Will?!" I exclaimed as my boyfriend walked into the room with a tray.
"I said that I'd make an effort, didn't I?" he chuckled, making me sit up as he gently put the tray down onto the bed before climbing in next to me. I couldn't help but smile as I looked at the food on the tray, the meal being made up of pancakes with syrup, a bowl of fruit and two mugs of coffee. I looked at him and bit my lip.
"What did I do to deserve you?" I whispered.
"Pet, I ask myself the same thing about you every single day." He shook his head as he looked between my eyes and my lips. I bit my lip and smiled before looking at the food in front of us.
"Will, this looks amazing." I scoffed as I grabbed a fork and broke off a bit of the top pancake.
"Eh, it's alright, only took me ten minutes." He shrugged. I looked at him.
"Way to ruin the magic, lad." I teased.
"Nah, lass, the magic will always be there with me." He said cheekily, making me laugh and shake my head as he wrapped his arms around me and placed a kiss on my neck.
"The food, Will, watch the food!" I laughed, him returning it as he quickly placed the tray on the desk before rolling on top of me and kissing me, laughs leaving both of our lips.
