Reunions *part 2*
I sat at my kitchen table, typing rapidly on my laptop as I worked desperately to finish the endless list of tasks that my boss had given me. Suddenly, my phone buzzed, making me down at it. Immediately my heart jumped as I saw that it was a text from Will. After I had stayed to watch the Eboys video being filmed, Will had walked me back to my apartment like the gentleman that he was, before asking for my number. To say that I had been stunned was an understatement. To think that Will, successful YouTuber and all-round funny guy wanted my number had shocked me, but I had happily given it to him.
Will: Fancy grabbing dinner tonight?
My eyes widened.
Y/N: What, like a date?
Will: It's whatever you want to be :).
I bit my lip, my heart leaping in my chest as I quickly typed out my reply.
Y/N: I'd love to :).
Will: Brill :) I'll pick you at seven. Dress nicely, I have a place in mind :).
Y/N: Alright, see you then :).
I stood in front my full length-mirror, checking over my outfit for the thousandth time before getting picked up by Will for our date. After all, he did say that it was whatever I wanted it to be. I gulped, smoothing the skirt of my red bodycon dress out against my thighs, my eyes skimming over my seemingly perfect makeup and my curled hair before double-checking my black stilettos. I looked as good as I could, I just prayed that Will agreed. I grabbed my purse and headed into the living room of my apartment, just in time to hear a knock on the door. I gulped, taking another deep breath before opening it. Will stood there, his body clad in a black suit with a white dress-shirt and an also black tie. My eyes widened, as did his as we looked each other up and down.
"You look amazing." We both scoffed at the same time, our eyes meeting and laughs leaving our lips at our synchronicity.
"Wow, lass. I have to admit that knowing you, I had high expectations and...wow, you exceeded them by a mile." He admitted, his eyes skimming up and down my body.
"You don't look too bad yourself, Will." I smiled. He chuckled and nodded before holding his arm out. I bit my lip and took his arm, shutting my apartment door behind us before letting him walk us away from my apartment.
"I'm still waiting to hear about how you ended up in London, I talked your ear off over dinner, but you barely said a word." Will chuckled as he let us into his apartment, where he had invited me back to for another drink.
"That's because I was intently listening to how successful you've become." I smiled.
"Give over, man, positive attention only goes to me head." He teased, making me laugh as I sat down on his sofa whilst he poured out two glasses of wine. I bit my lip, admiring how stunning he looked as he sat down next to me and handed me one of the glasses.
"Right, it's your turn now. How did you end up moving from Newcastle to Canary Wharf?" he smiled. I chuckled and looked at him.
"So, you know that I studied fashion design at college." I started, making him nod as he listened intently.
"Basically, I got head-hunted. I sent my portfolio off to as many fashion agencies as I could, yet got no response, so started to give up. Then, one day, completely out of the blue, I get an email from my current boss. She says that she was colleagues with someone that I'd sent my work to, and whilst her colleague didn't necessarily have a need for my work, she loved it." I explained. Will's eyes widened.
"Lass, that's amazing! You got head-hunted by an actual designer, look at you!" he exclaimed, making me chuckle and shake my head.
"Thing is, though, that it's going to take years for me to work my way up. Right now, I'm basically a glorified assistant." I sighed.
"We all have to start somewhere, it's better than nothing. You'll work your way up. Anyway, I wouldn't exactly mind having you around for a few years." He nodded. I looked at him and gave him a small smile, making him gulp.
"Lass, can I admit something to ya?" he asked. My eyebrows furrowed.
"Aye, of course." I nodded. He returned it and gently took my glass of wine before putting both of our glasses down on the coffee table. He looked back at me.
"One of the biggest mistakes of me life was letting you drift away after college. I've kicked maself virtually every day over the fact that we lost contact. Because, well, the truth is that I've liked ya for so long that I'm pretty sure that it's developed into love. I love ya." He admitted. My eyes widened.
"What...like a friend?" I gulped. He shook his head and looked at me.
"No, lass. I love you. Like a girlfriend." He nodded. I gulped, my heart almost beating out of my chest at Will's admittance. I couldn't believe that I was sitting in front of my old best friend and love of my life, being told that he felt the same way about me.
"Will, I love you too. Like a boyfriend." I admitted in return. His eyes widened and he let out a big sigh of relief, making me smile as he dropped his head.
"Oh, thank fuck for that, pet. I was worried that I'd just ruined things all over again, like." He chuckled nervously as he looked back up at me. I shook my head and bit my lip as I shifted slightly closer to him on the sofa, making his smile dip into a smaller, more loving one.
"You never ruined things at all." I whispered and shook my head. Will chuckled and nodded, his gaze flicking between my eyes and my lips. I gulped, my heart about to pound out of my chest as the boy leant in and gently pressed our lips together. I returned the kiss, holding his face and pulling him closer as his hands went to my waist. He broke the kiss but joined our foreheads instead as he looked at me.
"Will you be me girlfriend?" he asked quietly.
"Course I will, you silly bastard." I smiled, making him laugh and nod before joining our lips again.
