I'm getting worried about Astrid. She's really quiet, and won't move at all. When we heard a voice she called, but then went quiet.

"Astrid!" I yelled, but no response. She was unconscious. I look up to see my mother coming with he rest of the gang, sliding down the hill.

"Hiccup! I was freaking out because you didn't return so we went to the village and found your mom and now we're here to rescue you! OMG is Astrid okay?" Fishlegs said as he walked over and picked her up.

"I don't know, but before the storm she slipped and I'm pretty sure she sprained her ankle. She said it hurt so much so we decided to anchor down for the storm." I said.

By the time we got back to New Berk the storm had stopped. Astrid was rushed to Gothi. I helped people get the snow out from the front of their doors, so they weren't trapped in their huts. About 2 hours later Astrid still wasn't out.

I ran over to Gothi's, and my mom was there.

"Hiccup, Astrid has a sprained ankle, and bad hypothermia. We are trying our best but we can't promise anything. In this cold the water isn't heating up and the wind keeps blowing out the fire. I have to go help, but I will update you if anything happens." my mom said as she closed the door.

I sat down next to the bonfire outside of Gothi's medical hut and cried. I couldn't lose Astrid. Not now. Not ever. She made me happy and encouraged me. I loved her. I fell asleep with my thoughts, hoping for the best.

THE NEXT DAY

I woke, remembering the few days before that I have gone through. I cried a little more, knowing that Astrid might never recover. I hear the door open behind me, bracing myself as I turn around, knowing it might be Gothi, telling me bad news. Instead, I see something that surprises me. 

"Astrid!" I say as I run up to her and passionately kiss her. She hugs me, and lets out a sob.

"I though I'd never see you again!" she said in tears.

"Me too." I say, getting tears in my eyes too.

I was going to do something crazy. Something that she didn't expect. Something nobody expected. Something we have talked about before, but decided against it. Something I've wanted to do, but didn't know how.

"Astrid, since the day I've met you, you've been my best friend. Being without you is like my heart was ripped from my chest. You are fearless, a warrior, and you are beautiful. I don't know what I would do without you, in fact, I wanted to do this in case anything happened to one of us. I love you Astrid Hofferson. With everything I have, and I always will. I hope you will always be in my family. Will you marry me?" I said as I took a deep breath. 

Astrid got more tears in her eyes. 

"Hiccup, I, I, YES!" she said as she jumped into my arms, despite her injured foot. I laughed, she cried. I kissed her. 

"I love you Hiccup." she said as she hugged me.

"And I love you too."
