[BULGARIA, 1490, Katherine's cry pierces the air as she cries out in pain.]

MOTHER: (IN BULGARIAN) A little more, dearest... A little more. Push... A little more.

[A baby's cry is heard, Katherine's mother smiling down at the child. Katherine breathes shakily, sweat pouring down her face from exertion.]

MOTHER: (IN BULGARIAN) It's a girl.

KATHERINE: (IN BULGARIAN) A girl. Please, mother... Let me see her.

[Katherine reaches out, about to take her baby when a man seen previously stood to the side of the scene steps forward. It's clear he is Katherine's father and the man of the house. Her mother smiles at Katherine, moving to hand the baby over.]

FATHER: (IN BULGARIAN) Woman, don't! What are you doing?

"Excuse you?" Marlene sneered, "get some manners dickhead!"

"Degradation was so 1200s" Alice agreed, rolling her eyes at the man's tone.

"More to the fact that who does he think he is to not let a mother even hold her child?" Lily questioned, a glare etching onto her face which had previously been more of a dumbstruck expression at the sight of Elijah Mikaelson.

[Katherine's mother changes direction, handing the baby over to Katherine's father instead as Katherine watches in tears. She looks terrified and devastated.]

KATHERINE: (IN BULGARIAN) Let me at least hold her once. Just once... At least once.

FATHER: (IN BULGARIAN) Forget it, you have disgraced this family!

"By giving birth?" Marlene questioned.

"She must not have been married" Regulus deduced, "times back then a woman had to have been married to perform any type of..."

"Sex" Barty supplied with a grin,

"Exactly" Regulus nodded along.

"Talk about living in the medieval" Marlene rolled her eyes, "I take it it was okay for a man to do so though, right?"

Regulus' silence was enough of an answer for her, "fucking double standards" Marlene sneered and McGonagall for once didn't reprimand her.

[He leaves taking the baby with him while Katherine screams after him, still stuck in the bed she just gave birth in. She's crying as she watches him walk out.]

KATHERINE: (IN BULGARIAN) Father, please! No, Father... No!

[Katherine's mother comes over to her, trying to comfort her and forcing her to stay in the bed as Katherine tries to run out after her father and daughter.]

MOTHER: (IN BULGARIAN) No, Katerina, it's for the best. It's better for her!

[Katherine's mother forces Katherine into a hug, consoling her as she cries.]

KATHERINE: (IN BULGARIAN) No, Mother, please...

MOTHER: (IN BULGARIAN) Let her go... Let her go, Katerina.

KATHERINE: (IN BULGARIAN) Please, Mama...

[The camera angle changes to show Katherine's mother rocking her back and forth as she continues to comfort her child, the elder woman crying herself in the face of the events that had just transpired. Katherine breathes shakily, the reality of her situation fully setting in alongside her face which slowly smooths out into a blank one.]

"Well that was heartbreaking" Sirius spoke into the silence that had pertained the hall after the scene they had just witnessed.

Remus slapped his friend in the back of the head for that. "Could you be serious for one second?" he froze as he realised what he had just said, glancing fearfully at Sirius' grin that had overtaken his features.

"Merlin's saggy left ball Lupin! Why would you say that?!" Lily exclaimed in annoyance,

"I'm sorry!" Remys exclaimed back, fearful of the redhead's anger, "it just slipped out!"

[Damon opened the door to Elena stood awkwardly on the doorstep, her necklace back around her neck.]

DAMON: Hello, Elena.

ELENA: Stefan here? He called. Said it was important.

"Urghh not the bunny muncher again" Regulus groaned,

"I thought that her and Astra agreed no more Stefan?" James pointed out, "what? I can pay attention too!" he whined when he realised everyone was looking at him in slight disbelief something smart had come out of his mouth.

"Maybe that's why she's acting more awkward? Because Stefan insisted and she doesn't want to be there" Remus deduced.

DAMON: Right this way.

[Elena walked in, Damon watching her in slight intrigue. She didn't even make it through the entry way before Stefan spotted her and walked up to her, hands in his pockets. He looked completely unbothered.]

Regulus' mood instantly soured at the sight of Stefan, a groan threatening to bubble out of his throat. Barty and Rabastian snickered at the expression pulled on Regulus' face.

STEFAN: Hey.

ELENA: What is this about?

[Stefan moved out of the way slightly to allow Rose to walk through, Elena's face twisting into one of slight shock and fear.]

"Can not believe that they are actually trusting her" James spoke up, "she just kidnapped them and tried to hand them over to some guy who wants to kill Elena and now they're just letting her walk around their house"

"I feel like Damon may not know exactly why she is here though and forced to go through it because of Stefan" Remus concluded,

"Either way it's stupidity" Sirius finished, rolling his eyes at the looks of incredulity he received, "it takes stupid to recognise stupid"

"Glad you finally acknowledge it" Regulus smirked before returning his ever prescient glare to the vampire on the screen.

ELENA: You.

[Elene glanced at Stefan in disbelief that she was here while Rose awkwardly held up her hand in a wave. Elena gulped nervously, taking a step back as Stefan smiled slightly at her. The scene changes to the four in the living room, Stefan and Rose on one side while Elena sat on the other chair in an armchair with Damon standing slightly protectively behind her.]

"Least Damon sees her as a threat still" Evan acknowledges.

ROSE: Okay, I only know what I've picked up over the years. And I don't know what's true and what's not true. That's the problem with all of this vampire crap. But Klaus I know is real.

ELENA: Who is he?

DAMON: He's one of the originals. He's a legend.

STEFAN: One of the first generation of vampires.

ELENA: Like Elijah.

ROSE: No. Elijah was the Easter bunny compared to Klaus. He's a foot soldier. Klaus is the real deal.

"Bit insulting to Elijah" Barty scoffed,

"Ha!" James crowed from the other side, "take that! Take it! I knew he was weak! See that Evans? Easter bunny! You're simping over an Easter bunny... what in Merlin's saggy balls is a bloody Easter bunny?"

Lily rolled her eyes but still flushed as she took in what James was saying. Still his reaction to her reactions of Elijah did bring a smile to her face. Maybe James' crush wasn't all just for show...

STEFAN: Klaus is known to be the oldest.

ELENA: Okay, so you're saying that the oldest vampire in the history of time is coming after me?

ROSE: Yes.

DAMON: No. What they're saying is if what she's saying is true -

ROSE: Which it is.

DAMON: And you're not just saying it so we won't kill you

ROSE: Which I'm not.

DAMON: Then we're looking at a solid maybe.

"Even if Rose is lying they should still believe what she says just to prepare for worst case" Lily spoke up.

"I agree it is better to be prepared than surprised" Remus nodded.

[Stefan stood up then moving over to sit next to Elena and wrapping an arm around the back of the armchair she was sitting on, Damon already standing next to Rose at this point after confronting her.]

"Look at Elena's face" Barty guffawed, "she does not want to be there at all"

"The bunny muncher can't even tell either" Rabastian cackled.

STEFAN: Look, Elijah's dead, right? No one else even knows that you exist.

ROSE: Not that you know of.

DAMON: That's not helping.

STEFAN: Look I've never known anyone who's even laid eyes on him. I mean, we're talking centuries of truth mixed with fiction. We don't actually know what's real. He could be some stupid bedtime story.

"So why call her over if you don't even believe what she's saying?" Regulus challenged, "Merlin can someone just kill this guy already?"

ROSE: He's real. And he doesn't give up. If he wants something, he gets it. If you're not afraid of Klaus then you're an idiot.

DAMON: Alright, we're shaking. You made your point.

[Elena looked around at the three of them, sighing, before grabbing her bag and standing up. She began to walk out the room, shouldering her bag as she went.]

STEFAN: Where are you going?

"Away from you" Regulus spoke before he could stop himself, "the urge to kill Bambi is beginning to become too much to ignore"

"What in the Founders is going on with him?" Barty called out in bewilderment, looking at the usually reserved Regulus.

"Merlin knows" Evan sighed, "all that I know is I just lost the last of my normal friends"

"Not true - you have me!" Barty exclaimed, bounding over next to Evan and wrapping an arm around his shoulders.

"Exactly" was all Evan said, turning back to the screen.

ELENA: School. I'm late.

STEFAN: (GETTING UP TOO) Let me, uh, I'll grab my stuff. I'll go with you.

ELENA: That's okay. I know where it is.

[Elena stopped Stefan and left the room. Damon grinning at the screen as Stefan looked on in slight confusion.]

DAMON: He's in the doghouse.

"I love Damon" Sirius cackled, "he's such a good older brother - like me"

Regulus' eyebrow arched so high that it disappeared amongst his black curls. Sirius was a good brother, key word being was. He stopped being one in Regulus' eyes when he abandoned him in the nuthouse that was their family home.

STEFAN: Shut up, Damon.

[Scene changes to Bonnie at school holding an abundance of textbooks and notebooks alongside her bag as she gets out the car, struggling to shut the door. She groans in annoyance as she drops her textbook on the ground, bending down to pick it up. Jeremy laughed as Bonnie dropped more of the contents in her arms as she reached down, he walked up behind her.]

"Urgh we're back to her" Barty groaned in disgust, Rabastian agreeing.

"The useless witch" he sneered, how could someone not love what they were?

JEREMY: (CROUCHING DOWN AND HELPING HER) Here, I got it.

BONNIE: Thanks. Where's Elena?

"Wow, straight in" Rabastian sneered, "didn't even last five minutes without bringing the conversation to his sister"

JEREMY: She's actually running late today. Both her and Astra. You, uh, wanna hang out at the Grill, shoot some pool? Winner runs the table.

BONNIE: Why?

JEREMY: Why what?

BONNIE: Well, you never asked me to play a game of pool before. So why now?

JEREMY: Uh, I don't know. I thought that it would be fun. Never mind.

"That is harsh" James stated, "she just shot him down without even thinking about it"

Remus and Sirius stared at James like he was an idiot. Did he not even realise this is what happened to him multiple times a day whenever he asked out Lily. Lily, herself, was staring at James in the same way. But looking at the screen she couldn't help but wonder if maybe she was a little too brutal in some of her shut downs.

BONNIE: No, hey. Okay. Sure. It's just...

JEREMY: Just what?

BONNIE: It's just you're Elena's brother and... Sure. It's just... I'm really bad at pool.

"This girl is so awkward it's cringing me out" Marlene complained,

"Agreed" Lily nodded, wincing at the interaction.

JEREMY: Yeah, yeah. I thought you might be.

LUKA: (OFFSCREEN) Hey, excuse me. Do you guys know which way's the office?

[LUKA appeared, walking over to Bonnie and Jeremy with a smile on his face.]

JEREMY: Yeah. Yeah. Through the double doors, straight ahead, quick left and then your first right. You must be new here.

LUKA: Yeah, I am. It's hard to hide it. My name's Luka.

JEREMY: I'm Jeremy. This is Bonnie.

"She has the 'I wanna fuck you eyes'!" Marlene exclaimed, "I'd recognise them anywhere!"

"Miss McKinnon if I have to tell you one more time..." McGonagall exclaimed,

"It's true though! Look at her face!"

LUKA: Hi Bonnie.

"Look at Jeremy" Marlene laughed, "he recognised it too and he doesn't like it!"

"He's gonna do something to pull those two away from each other, watch it" Sirius called, "a galleon he does" he spoke towards Remus who nodded and shook his hand. The bet being sealed.

JEREMY: Anyway, I'm headed in that direction. Why don't you follow me? It can get confusing.

Remus handed Sirius the galleon.

LUKA: Okay. Thanks, man. It was nice to meet you Bonnie.

[The two of them walked off, Bonnie staring lustfully after Luka. The scenery changes to Elena traipsing through the woods holding a large brown bag, Astra and Caroline behind her.]

ELENA: Tell everyone I wasn't feeling well and I went home. Astra's staying with me to make sure I'm okay.

CAROLINE: I can't believe I'm agreeing to this. I'm a terrible liar.

ASTRA: Keep Stefan busy. I don't want him knowing what we're doing or near us. He just can't keep away from Elena, it's creepy.

Regulus smirked at how Astra talked about the bunny muncher, he was happy to know that he didn't have to fight him off for her. Happy that she held the same dislike that he did, already they had things in common.

ELENA: (GRINNING AT ASTRA) Ain't that the truth.

Regulus' smirk morphed into a grin when he saw how Elena now acted around her sister. He was happy that she held a better relationship with her sister rather than the complicated one that he shared with his own brother.

Sirius looked over to Regulus then as if sensing the wavelength his thoughts were on. His eyes softened as he looked over to his younger brother, wishing his legs would just carry him over to his brother, willing his mouth (which was usually always happy to spew his thoughts) would open and speak.

None of that happened and Sirius was simply left to stew in his own regret, James' hand on his shoulder bringing none of the comfort it usually did. Especially when he saw how Regulus' eyes seemed to harden at the action.

CAROLINE: What the hell happened yesterday? You used to be all over him and now you want nothing to do with Stefan. I get it but still - it's weird.

ASTRA: We just had some good old heart to hearts.

CAROLINE: Either way, I'm even worse at duplicity. You know this!

ELENA: You managed to keep me occupied when Katherine paid Stefan a visit.

CAROLINE: Yeah, because she threatened me! Not that I'm saying that you should use that as a tactic. It's... Stefan's gonna see right through me.

ELENA: Caroline, as our friend, do you promise or not?

[Astra smirked a little from where she stood behind Elena, Caroline looking at her slightly in fake betrayal but also worried.]

CAROLINE: You just had to break out the girlfriend code... okay. I promise.

"I wish I had friends like that" Marlene sighed, Lily and Mary throwing her looks of disbelief.

"What are we?" Mary exclaimed offended,

"Your next door neighbours?" Lily continued,

"No, you're the irritating roommates I can't seem to get rid of" Marlene responded with a shit eating grin.

ELENA: Okay.

CAROLINE: Why don't you want Stefan to know about this?

ELENA: Because he would never be okay with me doing something like this. And we are over and he needs to understand that I am my own person now.

ASTRA: He doesn't need to know everything going on in her life, Care. He doesn't have that right anymore.

CAROLINE: It's nice to see you guys like this. Sisters, backing each other's decisions and being there for each other - it's refreshing.

"She is right" Evan spoke, nodding along with the blonde on the screen,

"Evan... are you agreeing with a... mudblood" Barty whispered in faux horror,

"The world must be ending!" Rabastian continued on with the scene, clasping his head as he whipped it from side to side.

"Call the Dark Lord, Rab! I want my death to be quick!" Barty grasped his friend's arm, shaking it to enunciate his point.

"Shut up, the both of you" Evan sneered, rolling his eyes,

"It's alright, lads!" Barty called out, suddenly returning to his form of normal, "false alarm"

"Rosier is back to normal" Rabastian finished, breathing out a sigh of relief as Evan rolled his eyes at his reluctantly named friends. Regulus just smirked, happy their attention was on someone that wasn't him for once.

[The scene changes from the girls meandering their way around rocks to try and find the entrance to the tomb, to Elena walking into the tomb first with the bag still in her hands. She looked around cautiously with Astra right behind her followed by Caroline.]

"Wait... is that not where Damon trapped Katherine?" Remus suddenly spoke up in realisation as everyone else recognised where the girls were walking into.

Suddenly, Regulus wasn't so happy that Astra and Elena were getting along so well. He much preferred it when Elena didn't tell Astra about the danger she was in.

CAROLINE: Are you sure you guys want to do this?

ELENA: Yes, I'm sure. She's the only one who knows the truth about Klaus. The only one who can tell me how to stop him.

ASTRA: Or how to understand him. I mean he has to have some reason motivating him to need you, Lena.

Regulus smiled a little at the way that Astra still seemed to search for the good in someone even when they were after her or her family. It was a trait he was both learning to love and hate. He didn't like how naive it seemed to make her, how much danger it was going to put her in. He knew of a Klaus Mikaelson whose reputation precedes him and he really, really hoped it wasn't the same one after Elena.

CAROLINE: But you're asking the truth from someone who's probably never given it. Are you sure about this?

ASTRA: We'll be fine, Care.

ELENA: I can't just sit back and wait for Stefan or Damon to save me. I have to know Caroline, I have to fix this myself.

ASTRA: With a little help from those you can actually trust. Please, Care.

"I love how independent Elena has become now that she isn't just depending on Stefan to save her" Marlene commented, "it's like she suddenly has a personality that doesn't revolve around attention seeking"

"You would never know you're a feminist sometimes Marls" Lily sighed, "always putting down a woman just because she's with a guy"

"Well women are superior but I wasn't putting her down I was just saying that she's better without the bunny muncher"

[Caroline looked reluctantly from Elena to Astra and then to the rock keeping the tomb closed. She sighed before slowly walking over to it, pulling the stone away and leaning it against the wall next to it. The stone dragged against the floor where Caroline still found it somewhat heavy even with her enhanced strength. She stepped back, Elena nervously stepping forward with Astra right behind her.]

ELENA: Katherine?

ASTRA: (LOOKING BACK TO CAROLINE) We'll be okay from here, Care.

[Noise coming from the tomb caused everyone's head to snap towards the entrance. It was dark until the silhouette of someone stumbling down could be seen. Katherine took a step, her leg buckling with each one taken closer to the entrance until her figure stumbled once more. She clutched the rock jutting out the wall for security, leaning against as she glared at the trio in front of her. Her face was gaunt, her hair seeming more limp, like the life was slowly draining from her.]

James and Sirius let out a scream, James jumping onto Lily's lap and clinging to her as Sirius did the same to Remus. Lily and Remus, themselves, immediately dropped the unwelcome cargo onto the floor.

"That is terrifying" James breathed out shakily, "what in Merlin's saggy balls happened to her?"

"She looks dead - like dead dead not vampire dead" Sirius continued, "she just appeared out of nowhere!"

While they spoke the two were dramatically crawling backwards away from the screen, their eyes never leaving the gaunt Katherine.

"If you are done with the dramatics Mr Potter, Mr Black, we could get back to watching the events?" McGonagall spoke though it was more of an order than a suggestion.

"Honestly Minnie, it's no wonder you are Head of Gryffindor, you are so brave that even vampires don't scare you" Sirius beamed charmingly, "if we could just forget the previous few minutes that would be great"

"Just sit down Mr Black"

KATHERINE: (HOARSELY) Hello Elena. You come to watch me wither away? Goodbye Caroline, Astra.

ELENA: As long as I stand on this side of the door, she can't hurt me. Please.

[Caroline reluctantly walked out the room, leaving Astra and Elena where they were. Elena walked over to a nearby rock, dropping the bag on it before opening it.]

KATHERINE: (GLARING AT ASTRA THOUGH DIRECTING WHAT SHE IS SAYING TO ELENA) Stefan know your here?

ELENA: We brought you some things.

ASTRA: And what Stefan knows doesn't matter anymore.

KATHERINE: You came to bribe me. What is it that you want?

ELENA: (THROWING ONE OF THE OBJECTS ON THE GROUND IN FRONT OF KATHERINE) I want you to tell me about Klaus.

KATHERINE: You've been busy.

ELENA: (PULLING OUT A LARGE BOOK) I also bought you this. It's your family history.It says in here your family line ended with you. Obviously that's not true.

KATHERINE: You thought that because you brought me some family keepsake that I'd open up?

ASTRA: (PULLING OUT A WATER BOTTLE FULL OF BLOOD AND WRINKLING HER NOSE IN DISGUST) No, we're not that stupid. We also brought you this.

"That looks disgusting," Barty grimaced before his face lit up, "let's try it!"

[Katherine eyed the bottle ravenously, rushing to the doorway and slamming into an invisible barrier, preventing her from leaving. Astra's eyes widened slightly, her confident facade dropping as she took a few steps back. Katherine grunted, breathing shakily, the veins running up to her eyes revealing themselves as she started to vamp out.]

ELENA: You don't look so good. How long before your body shuts down? Ten, twenty years? Must be painful to dessicate and mummify. I can't even imagine.

"It would also seem to appear that her lack of self preservation still remains even without Stefan though" Lily noted looking over to Marlene who simply shrugged,

"Just said women are better not that they're perfect" Marlene replied, "I mean have you seen some of the men here? The bar isn't exactly high"

She eyed James and Sirius as she spoke the last line, both of whom turned to her as they spluttered in offence.

[Katherine glared hatefully, before her face formed a pout as she started to sulk. She leant back against the wall of the tomb, sinking down until she was sat down. Elena crouched down, pulling the bottle of blood out of Astra's hands and beginning to pour a little into a plastic cup before using a stick to push it towards Katherine. Astra eyed her movements warily. Katherine picked up the cup.]

KATHERINE: You have the Petrova fire.

"Translation: she finally grew a backbone" Sirius whispered loudly to Remus who rolled his eyes. He couldn't help but agree with Sirius though, that she had in fact become more confident and independent.

[Katherine drowned the blood, her face beginning to gain a little more colour as the liquid revitalised her.]

ELENA: More blood?

[Katherine glared at her once more, slamming the cup onto the ground where Elena then used the stick to pull it back towards her.]

"Just for that I would've let her become more thirsty first - watched her grow more desperate" Evan sneered, "she is the one who needs more help - not Elena or Astra. They just need more information they could probably learn elsewhere"

"Merlin he threw himself back to normal very quickly" Barty spoke to Rabastian who nodded along,

"It's a little admirable" Rabastian agreed before musing, "I must ask for some tips"

KATHERINE: (GLANCING TOWARDS ASTRA) She does know there's a barrier right? That I can't touch her.

Regulus glared at Katherine as she spoke so callously towards his Astra. He drew a line next to her name on his parchment - he'd make her torture a little more painful before making her beg for death which he would mercifully give. She held no right to even look at his star after throwing her around like a rag doll at the masquerade.

[Elena glanced behind her to where Astra was still stood, staring a little shakily at Katherine.]

ELENA: She's here for me. Not you. Now... Klaus?

KATHERINE: (SIGHING) It's a long story. Klaus and I. Goes all the way back to England, 1492, after I left Bulgaria. Or was thrown out.

"How much do you want to bet that this Klaus will wind up being super hot?" Marlene questioned Lily and Mary,

"I'll throw three to him being fitter than Elijah" Mary nodded,

"Five says he isn't - Elijah is a daddy" Lily denied, the Marauders alongside her friends stared at Lily after her statement. "What? I would let him fuck me up anyday of the week so long as it meant he gave me his children"

"Lily-flower, my love, I am growing increasingly more worried for you" James said shakily, "are you okay?"

A stark contrast to James' reaction was Marlene's "yes Lily! Get some!"

"He just does things to me okay?!" Lily exclaimed in frustration towards James and everyone else who was judging her. (A/N: He does things to all of us Lily, it's okay we understand.)

[Elena poured another little bit of blood into the cup, pushing it back towards Katherine who guzzled it down very quickly. Though she put up a confident, Katherine facade, it was clear that she was dying of thirst. Desperate.]

ELENA: Thrown out?

KATHERINE: My family, your true ancestors. They disowned me. My indiscretions were not tolerated at that time. I had a baby out of wedlock. The shame.

"That's just so wrong" Marlene sneered in disgust, her earlier exclamations gone.

"No it isn't" Rabastian was quick to disagree, "it's the pureblood way. The proper way. Remove and disown any and all shame on your family name and credibility"

"But how do we know it wasn't her fault? What if she had someone force themselves on her?" Marlene challenged,

"She still fell pregnant and lost her purity" Rabastian replied,

"You disgust me LeStrange, you and your whole family"

ELENA: It was kept secret.

KATHERINE: My baby was given away.

[Astra began to walk closer to where Elena was once more, moving to sit down next to her. Her face was sympathetic, a look of pure sadness painted across it as she recognised that Katherine really didn't start out as a bad person.]

ASTRA: I'm so sorry, Katherine.

Regulus hid his small smile as he watched his star's empathy be on display. She was too good for him, too good for the world. He didn't deserve her but he would always be too selfish to turn her away for him and to someone else. She would always be his and hopefully she would always want to be.

KATHERINE: I was banished to England and I had to learn to adjust. So I quickly became English. It was there that I caught the eye of a nobleman named Klaus. I was taken with him at first, till I found out what he was and what he wanted from me. And then I ran like hell.

"You have to admire her ability to adapt and survive" Lily commented, "the girl managed to learn a whole new language and survive the wrath of this Klaus person who is clearly insane from what the rumours so far have said"

"Insanely hot" Marlene smirked before turning away from Lily's face, "right not the point, sorry. Nobody will ever beat your Elijah... got it."

[Scene changes to Katherine back when she was human once more. She was running through the forest, her skirts bundled up and her fear evident as she continuously looked over her shoulder. She grunted as she fell over, moving to gather her skirts before glancing over to her side as she heard a twig snap. A small gathering of men appeared to the side in the trees, Elijah amongst them with slightly longer hair. Klaus' face was yet to be revealed.]

"And to think he couldn't get any hotter... Merlin how wrong I was" Lily sighed, drooling as she saw her man come on screen once more. James sulked to the side, glaring daggers at Elijah as though that would affect him in any way.

KLAUS: She's here.

ELIJAH: Katerina?! I know you're near. I can smell your blood. It's pointless to run. Klaus will find you wherever you are.

"See! He is a bad guy! He's helping the guy that wants to sacrifice her!" James gestured manically at the screen as though it would help Lily see reason.

Alas she was too far in the clutches of Elijah's allure, "he was probably going to help her. Elijah could never be a bad guy. I could help him see reason even if he was"

A thud followed and when Sirius turned to look, he found James had slammed his forehead into the table. Sirius simply rubbed his friend's back in sympathy - even he could see that Lily was too far gone to see reason.

[Katherine breathed in shakily as she realised she was in fact bleeding, checking her side and looking at her fingers as they were covered in blood. All the while Elijah stalked around as though tracking his prey. Katherine remained still, desperately trying to calm her heart.]

TREVOR: This way. There's more blood over there.

[Elijah's gaze remained fixed in front of him before he began to walk in the direction Trevor had nodded towards. Katherine remained frozen for a moment, checking they were gone before she pulled herself up. She let out an exclamation of pain as she did so. Looking both ways before she went to run again only to be caught by Trevor. He covered her mouth, pushing her against a tree as he looked around him.]

TREVOR: Head east. I can't lead them astray much longer.

"This must be the reason that ELijah killed him - the betrayal he spoke about" Remus commented.

KATHERINE: I can't run anymore.

TREVOR: Never mind. There's a cottage. You'll be safe there. Go now. Go.

[Katherine nodded before running. The scene changed to back in the present, Elena still crouched with her bottle of blood and Astra looking sympathetically towards Katherine from where she leant against the tomb wall.]

ELENA: So, what did Klaus want?

KATHERINE: The same thing that he'll want from you. He wants to break the curse.

"Is this still the sun and moon curse?" Evan asked, "the one that Rose mentioned? Why is Klaus so desperate to break it?"

ASTRA: By sacrificing a Petrova doppleganger.

KATHERINE: He wanted to drain every single drop of blood from my body.

"That is a disgusting thought" Barty grimaced, "cannot stand the sight of blood"

"Well you are gonna have a great time watching about bloody vampires!" Rabastian cackled, "if you throw up do it to your left"

"Do not do it to your left" Evan said firmly and Barty inched slightly closer to his right where Rabastian was.

[Rose gently dabbed at her eyes, looking down in devastation. Completely oblivious, Damon hopped into the room with his usual smirk, arms swinging at his side. He walked straight past Rose before spinning around.]

DAMON: Alright Rosebud, I need some answers. Oh please don't tell me you're crying because your buddy Trevor lost his head.

"It's the way he literally does not give two flying -"

"Miss McKinnon there better not be a cuss word on the end of that sentence" McGonagall called out,

"Monkeys! I was going to say monkeys, professor!"

"No you weren't" Sirius called her out, laughing.

ROSE: (PICKING UP A TISSUE TO WIPE HER EYES) Have you always been this insensitive?

DAMON: Well, there's a vampire switch... it's there for a reason. Take the emotion out of it.

"Wait so they can just flip a switch and go from being all loving and caring or whatever to just nothing? Like would they still care somewhat or like be a bitch or would they just be a robot?" Lily questioned, shocking everyone as for the majority of the episode she had just been simping over Elijah.

It was a legitimate question but not one anyone could answer. It was weird for most of them being in a position where they knew next to nothing when it came to some of the supernatural, the Wizarding World tending to pride themselves on being quite knowledgeable on various creatures.

ROSE: Yeah... you switch yours, I'll switch mine.

DAMON: Is that a dig?

ROSE: Just an observation. Being in love with your brother's girlfriend must be difficult.

"Huh?"

"Come again?"

"Swear down Elena was sitting as far away from him as she possibly could?"

"What scene was she watching?"

"Nah cause this girl is just stupid"

DAMON: Are you delusional? I'm not in love with everyone and for the full record, Elena and Stefan aren't even together.

ROSE: You wanna try that again?

"She's so dumb"

[Damon sighed before speeding so that he was in front of Rose. Their faces were centimetres away, so close that one little lean from either party and they would be lip locked with very little effort. Rose appeared completely unphased while Damon held his stupid smirk.]

DAMON: Don't get on my bad side.

ROSE: Then show me your good side.

"Ewww if they end up fucking I don't wanna watch" Marlene cringed, "watching straight people have sex is just like a huge ick to me"

"Miss McKinnon!"

"Sorry Professor but it's true, it's like watching two dogs go at it or something - so disturbing"

"Marlene, why does your mind even go there?" Mary sighed

DAMON: How do I find Klaus?

ROSE: You don't find Klaus, he finds you.

DAMON: Come on, somebody's gotta know somebody who knows where he is, right?

[Damon walked away again, the small moment over. His frustration was clear. Rose seemed to find amusement in this situation, grinning over to Damon.]

ROSE: Add another two hundred somebodys to that and you're still not even close.

Regulus felt himself paling a little bit more. This Klaus' reputation was far too close to who he was thinking of. And who he was thinking of... he'd honestly rather have Voldemort closer to his star than him.

"This guy is like notoriously scary" James spoke up, "his reputation is crazy"

"Honestly, how does somebody have his reputation and still never be found unless he wants the person to?" Sirius agreed, "I gotta get me some tips"

DAMON: Humour me. You got in touch with Elijah. How'd you do it?

ROSE: Through a very low somebody on the totem pole. A guy named Slater in Richmond.

DAMON: Perfect. I'll drive.

ROSE: No. You forget not all of us can do sun.

DAMON: Then you drive. Come on.

[Damon walked out the room with Rose rolling her eyes and reluctantly following.]

[It was Astra this time pushing the small cup of blood over to Katherine with a stick. It was clear she was a lot more generous in her dosage. Elena still sat in front of the entrance, her eyes attentively on Katherine. There was more colour in Katherine, her body physically looking more revitalised though she still leant against the wall as though she held no energy.]

"She looks better" Barty commented happily, "much more like her usual bitchy self"

"That's good" Rabastian nodded, "she sorta gives off Bellatrix vibes"

"I cannot believe you just said vibes" Evan groaned, wondering what he did to the world to make him call these two knuckleheads his best friends.

ELENA: What does the Petrova bloodline have to do with Klaus?

KATHERINE: It's really tedious but the curse was bound by the sacrifice of Petrova blood. Witches are crafty with their spells. The doppleganger was created as a way to be able to undo the spell. Once the doppleganger reappeared the curse can be broken.

"So the doppleganger acts as a timing agent then" Remus deduced, "the curse is supposed to be removed when the next doppleganger appears?"

"It appears that way" Lily nodded, "but then if it was would there not be circumstances in place to ensure that the spell was removed when the time was up?"

ASTRA: So you ran before he could use you.

KATHERINE: Something like that.

[It was back to the forest again, Katherine dressed in her gown and running anxiously still. There was a cut on her cheek. SHe whipped her head to the side, spotting the cottage Trevor had spoken on it and launched herself towards it, slamming her hand against the door desperately.]

KATHERINE: Help! Please help me!

[The door swung open, a MAID appearing on the other side. She surveyed Katherine cautiously.]

KATHERINE: Please... please help me.

MAID: I don't invite strangers into my home.

"Nah not this lady literally seeing this girl bleeding and looking close to tears and still being like get off my lawn" Sirius cackled,

"The way she doesn't even look like she's gonna question it too" James continued,

"She's so straight faced" Sirius laughed,

"She's obviously compelled you barbarians" Regulus called over from where he was sitting with a sneer on his face.

He didn't care that he spoke to his brother after all the promises he made that he never would, not even to insult him. He was just worried about his star, it was obvious what was going to happen. He knew exactly who was coming after Elena and he knew his star would do everything in her power to stop it even if she was only human.

KATHERINE: (STOPPING THE MAID FROM CLOSING THE DOOR) No... Trevor. He said that you'd help me.

ROSE: (OFFSCREEN) Damn him. Always making promises I don't want to keep.

[Rose appeared at the door then, her hair longer and face looking almost younger. SHe took one look at Katherine breathing heavily at the door, her face stoney before turning to the maid.]

ROSE: Let the girl in. Bring her water and something to eat.

[Katherine held no hesitation, stumbling into the house and leaving the room just before Rose compelled the maid who left soon after.]

KATHERINE: You must be Rose. Thank you. Trevor said to show you this. To prove that I am who I say. That you would help me to freedom.

[Katherine lifted up her hand as she spoke, showing the moonstone. Rose's eyes widened as she saw it, the girl having been stalking around the sofa previously. It was clear that she did not like wherever this was leading.]

That was the last confirmation that he needed, he let out a shaky exhale. He couldn't even do anything to prevent it. He didn't know if this had already happened, was happening right now or if he still held time to prevent it. Regulus was just stuck to watch whatever happened next and he had never hated something more.

He promised to himself that if something did happen to his star, he'd hunt down Niklaus Mikaelson and gut him with his own rib. Even if it meant he made an enemy out of the rest of the Mikaelsons.

ROSE: You stole this from Klaus?

KATHERINE: It was to be part of the sacrifice ritual so I - I grabbed it and I ran, I made my escape.

ROSE: People do not escape from Klaus. Everyone who tries ends up back in his grasp and anyone who helps them dies!

KATHERINE: I know the risk you bring on yourself by giving me aid.

ROSE: I am risking nothing. I will bring you back to Klaus and beg him to show us both mercy.

[Rose lunged at Katherine, grabbing her by the scruff of her neck and dragging her to another dark room where she threw her in and locked the door. Katherine let out a cry as her body roughly hit the floor.]

KATHERINE: No!

"Wow - that was ruthless" Barty commented in surprise.

"I don't know whether to like her for it or not" Rabastian sighed as though it was the biggest problem at the moment.

[A car with blacked out windows drove past a building covered in windows, pulling into the underground car park next door and parking smoothly. The tyres squealed as it came to a stop, Rose getting out of the driver's side as Damon walked around the front of the car.]

DAMON: Back entrance. How convenient.

ROSE: That's the point. We can't all have little daylight rings.

[Damon wiggled his fingers around to show off his ring patronisingly. Rose once again rolled her eyes at his behaviour.]

"He's such a little shit" Barty cackled, "I love it"

"Please don't get any ideas" Evan sighed in exasperation, Barty was already crazy. He didn't need anymore help.

"Too late," Barty grinned sinisterly.

DAMON: How do you know this Slater guy is even here?

ROSE: I called him. He's here. He's always here.

[Damon suddenly spun around, grabbing Rose by the throat and shoving her into the column behind them. His grip tightened on each word he spoke.]

DAMON: Good. Just one thing. If you're setting me up in anyway I will rip your heart out and shove it down your throat. It's something I'm very good at.

"He looks so proud of himself" Rabastian grinned, "he's just become my new favourite person"

[It took seconds for the tables to turn, Rose spinning Damon's arm around and shoving him into the car. His arm was pinned on his back, Rose's free arm leaning down on his neck.]

ROSE: I'm older than you and stronger. Don't get on my bad side. You can trust me.

[Damon smirked the whole time she had him pinned, unbothered. He took a moment to deliberate over what Rose had said, watching her walk off for a second. His face was pinched as though the idea of trusting someone truly bothered him though he shook off a second later and walked after Rose.]

"That's kinda sad" Mary spoke, "I don't think he truly does trust anyone"

"No, he does" Regulus quickly disagreed, ignoring the shocked looks he received at talking to a so called blood traitor, "he trusts my star"

[The two walked into a cafe, the shade quickly turning into sunlight as Rose took off her jacket, getting comfortable on one of the stools.]

DAMON: Whoa, what about the sunlight?

ROSE: Double paned and tempered. UV rays can't penetrate. You see the appeal now?

"Not a good enough reason to use the word penetrate" Barty sung out, a disgusted look on his face. He shook off the feel of the word. He couldn't stand that word. That one and moist, panties... the list could go on.

[SLATER wandered over then, stopping in front of Rose who quickly pulled him into a hug.]

SLATER: That and the free wifi.

ROSE: Hey! How are you?

SLATER: Good. I saw you come. What are you doing here?

DAMON: That's a long story. I want you to meet -

SLATER: Damon Salvatore. Turned 1864, Mystic Falls by Katherine Pierce aka Katerina Petrova. So I take it I was right? What I told you about the tomb under the church is true?

"Because that isn't creepy at all" Evan sneered sarcastically, "what a freak"

"Must be a groupie" Regulus sighed, the Wizarding World had them so this one must have it too.

"Damon looks so weirded out," Sirius laughed.

ROSE: Yes, it was right. Thank you for the tip.

SLATER: (HOLDING OUT HIS HAND WHICH DAMON RELUCTANTLY TAKES) It's nice to meet you. Maybe. What's going on Rose? Where's Trevor?

[Damon pulls a face and looks the other way, his lips twitching ever so slightly. Rose, herself, looks downcast and it was enough for Slater to realise the fate that had become him.]

[They were back in the tomb, Elena now sitting next to her sister. Astra rested her head on Elena's shoulder and the girl smiled softly down at her before turning back to Katherine.]

Regulus smiled softly as he saw the content look on his star's face. He couldn't help but hope that she was like that with him, comforted to be in his presence like she was to be in others. He wanted that for them, to be with her in a way that she never was with others.

ELENA: Rose never ended up taking you to Klaus, did she?

KATHERINE: No. But not because she had a change of heart.

"I don't like the sound of that" James whispered to Sirius, not wanting Lily to see him look even a little less than courageous. He had an image to maintain after all - little did he know that image had been shattered years ago.

"Neither do I" Sirius replied and the two quickly gripped each other's hands under the table. A mutual agreement that they would never speak of this moment again.

[Rose swung the door to Katherine's room open, storming in. She held a bunch of rope in her hand, throwing it on the bed that Katherine was laying on.]

ROSE: It's nightfall. Time to go.

[Rose pulled the covers back, seeing the blood seeping from Katherine's side.]

ROSE: When did this happen?

KATHERINE: In the woods. I tripped.

ROSE: That's a lie I would have smelt it.

[It was then that she picked up a knife, blood covering the end of it. She looked between Katherine and the knife in disbelief.]

KATHERINE: I would rather die than go back to Klaus. Please just let me die.

"This is so heartbreaking" Marlene whispered to Mary and Lily. She felt a small connection to Katherine, the helplessness and reality of her situation helping her to understand the woman more. She would never deny the fact that she was manipulative and somewhat shallow but she could admit that she understood why Katherine was the way she is.

She had been helpless once and she never wanted to be in that situation ever again.

ROSE: If you die then Trevor dies with you.

[Rose looked resolved, biting into her wrist and shoving it into Katherine's mouth. The girl tried to deny it and push it away but Rose simply pushed her wrist into Katherine's mouth further, forcing the girl to drink her blood. Katherine struggled against Rose, the vampire eventually pulling her wrist back to show Katherine's face covered in blood now. She touched her lips in shock, touching her healed cheek.]

"That's horrible" McGonagall whispered to herself in horror.

It was then that everyone in the hall mutually agreed to not like Rose. Her ruthless nature wasn't even understandable. Trevor had put himself in this situation and Rose was only making it worse. Could she not see that Katherine would rather die than go back to Klaus? Could she not understand that this was Katherine's life and not hers?

TREVOR: Where is she?

[Trevor stormed into the room, Rose taking one look at him before shoving him out and into a wall. SHe pushed him against it roughly.]

ROSE: You have set us both on a path of death. I only hope that Klaus sees the honour in returning the girl to him.

[Katherine spies the rope that Rose had left on the bed, her eyes on the doorframe where she could see Rose and Trevor argue.]

"I really don't like this" Sirius reiterated and James squeezed Sirius' hand once more.

TREVOR: He will sacrifice her.

ROSE: Then so be it!

TREVOR: I love her Rose.

ROSE: He'll kill you. He will not stop until he has both of our heads.

"She doesn't even seem to care that Trevor doesn't want this either" Lily commented, "so she can't even use his life as an excuse to do what she is doing"

"It's disgusting," Marlene sneered.

TREVOR: Then we shall run until we die.

[A clatter sounded, Rose whipping her head around to the room Katherine was in just to see that she wasn't on the bed any longer. Rose runs in first followed by Trevor, both of them staring in horror at the scene in front of them. Katherine hung from the ceiling, a rope around her neck and her neck snapped to one side. Dead.]

"Oh Merlin!"
