****Saturday morning****

"Ready for today?" Lily asked me, grinning wildly.

I took a drink of coffee before I answered her. "Yep."

"What's today?" Sirius asked after taking a drink of his own coffee.

"Well, Black," Lily snapped. "Laura and I are having a girl's day and dress shopping in Hogsmeade."

Catching my eye, James mouthed thank you. He knew that I hate dress shopping. But, he didn't know that I was going to Hogsmeade just to spend time with Lily and wasn't planning on mentioning him at all.

"Come on, Laura," Lily said, standing up and linking her arm through mine. "We need to get an early start."

Glancing back towards my plate of food longingly, I saw Sirius waving goodbye before he ate my scrambled eggs. Over at the Slytherin table, I saw Snivellus, I mean Severus, glaring daggers at me.

"Any suggestions on which store to try first?" I asked Lily as we entered Hogsmeade.

Out of all the times I had visited Hogsmeade, I had never went dress shopping. But, there was a first time for everything.

"Just follow me," Lily answered in a sing song voice.

She opened the door to a nearby shop and ushered me inside. Looking around, I instantly wanted to leave. The store was filled with dresses ranging from short and frilly to long and sparkly. Don't get me wrong, the dresses were beautiful. My only problem was knowing that I would have to put one on.

"Follow me," she ordered, dragging me to the heart of the store. " Now, I know you don't necessarily get excited about dress shopping so just put your faith in me and I'll find the perfect dresses for both you and me. All you have to do is try it on."

Smiling gratefully, I said, "Lils, you are the best."

"I know I am."

I wandered through the store aimlessly while waiting on Lily to find our dresses. I haven't tried anything on yet but I'm already exhausted.

"Try this on while I try this one on," Lily commanded, shoving a dress into my arms.

I hardly had a chance to look at her dress before she disappeared into a dressing room. Sighing in defeat, I followed my orders and locked myself in a dressing room. I had seen this dress in the shop window but hadn't really given it a second thought.

I undressed and put it on as quickly as I could, which was quite difficult considering the fact that it had multiple layers. Looking in the floor length mirror, I instantly fell in love with it. (A/N: picture of dress above)

"Hurry up, Laura!" Lily called. "I want to see how you look."

Stepping out of the dressing room, I heard Lily gasp.

"You look gorgeous!" We exclaimed simultaneously.

Giggling, I studied Lily's dress. It looked amazing on her. The colors really worked with her complexion.

Grabbing her hand, I twirled both of us and smiled at the way our dresses billowed out.

"It's official," I decided. "We are getting these dresses.

After putting our original outfits back on and paying for the dresses, Lily guided me into another shop. Looking around inside, I immediately tried to back out. But Lily stopped me.

"Lily!" I whined. "I've already went dress shopping. I can't handle shoe shopping in the same day."

"Suck it up, buttercup," Lily smirked. "We are getting all of our dance shopping done today. After this, we are buying jewelry. Then we can go to the Three Broomsticks. After all of that, we can head back to the castle and have a movie night."

Thanks for the warnings," I huffed.

After three hours of grueling shopping, I dropped into a booth in the Three Broomsticks. Dropping our bags next to us, I leaned against the booth in exhaustion. I had shopped enough to last me a life time. Lily had talked me into buying four-inch extremely sparkly heels. She bought two-inch cherry red heels. The jewelry she picked out for me is a whole other story.

I ended up buying a gorgeous (expensive) diamond necklace and matching diamond earrings.

Meanwhile, she bought herself: a red ruby necklace and diamond earrings.

(A/N:I tried to add pictures but wattpad wouldn't cooperate)

"Aren't you glad we got all of that done in one day?" Lily asked.

"I suppose," I sighed.

Suddenly, the two butterbeers that we had ordered were at our table. But Madam Rosmerta wasn't the one delivering them. It was James and Sirius, each wearing goofy grins. Put of the corner of my eye, I saw Remus and Peter sitting in a corner booth. Lily huffed and rolled her eyes as James sat down next to her and Sirius sat next to me.

"What are you two doing here?" I asked Sirius. "I thought I told you that Lily and I were having a girl's day."

"You did tell us that," James said."But Sirius here couldn't go all day without seeing his precious princess."

Sirius blushed slightly. "You're the one that wanted to talk to Lily." He replied coolly.

"And you're the one that didn't object like you normally do," James snapped back. "Anyways," he said, turning back to Lily. "Would you like to go to the Halloween dance with me, Lily flower?"

"I'd rather die," she scoffed.

I turned to Sirius, expecting him to make some sort of sarcastic remark about James getting rejected again. Instead, I caught him staring at me.

"Is there something on my face?" I asked him, throwing my hand up subconsciously.

He snapped out of his trance, blushing profusely, and looked everywhere but directly at me. "No," he mumbled.

That's new. The Sirius Black had blushed twice in the span of five minutes. He never blushed.

That's when it hit me.

"Prince Black," I said.

Finally looking me in the eye, he said, "Yeah?"

Running my hand through my hair, I gathered all of my courage. "Would you like to go to the Halloween dance with me?" I asked him.

The amount of emotions that flashed across his face gave me whiplash. It went from confused to shocked to happy and all the way around again.

I held my breath waiting for an answer. I could feel Lily and James (along with Remus because I knew he could hear us with his heightened werewolf senses) watching us. After what seemed like an eternity, Sirius opened his mouth to speak.

"I would love to," he answered, grinning widely.

My heart swelled with joy and I released the breath that I had been holding. Smiling like a fool, I kissed Sirius on the cheek as I linked my arm through Lily's and dragged her out of the booth.

Grabbing our bags, I said, "Lovely. Goodbye, boys."

As soon as the door to the Three Broomsticks, Lily bombarded me with questions. Thankfully, I was prepared for it.

"Why didn't you tell me you liked Sirius Black?" She asked incredulously.

I shrugged my shoulders nonchalantly as I said, "You never asked and I saw no reason to bring it up."

This, apparently, was the wrong answer.

"When did you start liking him?" She continued.

"I'm not sure," I replied not so honestly. Before Lily could kill me for giving another unsatisfactory answer, I added, "I guess it started near the end of the summer."

That wasn't a complete lie. I knew exactly when I had realized that I had fallen for Sirius Orion Black. But that was a story for another time.

"So does this mean you two will start dating?"

"I don't know, Lils."

****

It was 3 a.m in the girls dormitory and Lily and I were still awake. We had spent the night snacking and watching (along with singing along to) Disney movies. We were currently sitting on the floor, wrapped in multiple blankets. The smallest thing would send us off into a fit of giggles.

Meanwhile, in the boys dormitories...

****Sirius's POV****

"Is this the part where you threaten to kill me if I hurt her?" I asked Remus.

The four of us had over analyzed everything that had happened in the Three Broomsticks. James had given me an hour long lecture about what I could and couldn't do with Laura. Peter had nodded along and agreed. Remus had yet to say anything.

"No," he replied. "If you hurt her, she's more than capable of killing you herself."

"Fair enough," James decided.

"So does this mean you two will start dating?" Peter asked me.

"I don't know, Peter."
