Chapter 4
That night, we sneaked around, and got 19 people out safely, including Katelyn.
"Alright guys. We still have a lot of people to get out of there, and Blood Core has doubled the guard, so we'll only be able to get a few people out." I said.
"How many would be a few, Leah?" Trap asked.
"About five people."
"There's no way you're going to be able to get them out! I say we just leave them there."
"No! Look, every man counts, and if we get everyone out of there, we'll be able to stop Blood Core once and for all! There are kids in there, and they're being tortured and forced to do things that they aren't supposed to do. And I'm betting some of those kids belong to you."
"Leah is right. Those kids need us, and we are going to do whatever it takes to free every last one!" dad said.
"But how are you going to be able to get them out with all those guards?"
"We'll get as many out as possible, and if we don't come back, just be grateful that we got all of you out of there! Now, we're heading back before any of the guards notice that we're missing."
"Be careful, Leah."
"I'll be okay, Alex. And I'm going to get your sister."
Alex's my boyfriend, and he has a little sister named Melissa who was captured when she was sick.
I couldn't let her die in the factory.
The next day, Skellajam, Trap, and I were called to meet with Blood Core.
"Leah, have you found any sign of this rescuer?"
"No, Alfa. Not yet, but we're still looking."
"Yes, but you and your partners haven't been looking hard enough. For one thing you three have been running off at nightfall, and when you come back you say you've been searching within the borders of Terratore. You need to be searching beyond the borders, and report back to me, understood?"
"Yes, Alfa. S-sorry, Alfa."
"Put your back against the wall, and hold still!"
I knew what he was going to do to me, and the only way to slip out of it is to form a shield. But if I did that, he would know that I wasn't under his control.
"Trap, Skellajam, you know what to do. Pummel her."
"Yes, Alfa."
"Sorry Leah, but it has to be done." Skella whispered.
I knew they didn't want to hurt me, but they had no choice. They pummeled me up until I couldn't stand.
"Keep going!"
"But alfa-"
"Did I stutter?!"
"We'll do as you request, Alfa. Leah, use as much strength as you can okay." Trap whispered.
Moments later, when they were done beating me up, I hardly could even walk. I had a black eye, my jacket was torn, and I had cuts and bruises all over my body.
"I'm sorry, Leah. When we get back to your parents, we'll patch you up." Trap said.
"Blood Core is going to pay big time." I said.
"Leah, you need to calm down. If Blood Core saw your eyes in delete form, he'd know." Skella said.
"He would also know if I patched up all of my wounds." I said.
"But Leah,"
"Trap, I know you want to make sure I survive completely, but we're going to have to stick with an eye patch and a few bandages."
"But what about the rest of you? Blood Core wants you in non torn clothes for the inspection tomorrow."
"I just won't wear my jacket. If Blood Core finds us out, at least we'll die knowing that we did our best."
I tried walking a little bit further, but I fell to the ground.
"Leah!"
"Leah? She's bleeding badly. Leah, please hold on! We need to get her patched up, now! It'll be okay Leah! We're here for you! Just please hold on! Leah? Leah!" Skellajam was starting to cry.
They got me patched up with whatever I had in my prison room.
"He has to know that she's involved with everyone escaping."
"Trap, if he knew then he would've just killed her right there and then. Maybe he was just reminding Leah about how important this is to him."
"Maybe, but she could've died."
"But she didn't. Trap, he's sparing her! He's sparing her life."
"But why would he do that?"
"He must be working with someone that wants her alive, or he's starting to see that this is all wrong."
Back with Blood Core...
"You wanted to kill me, but you didn't. Instead you brought me back. Why?"
"Don't feel bad about beating her up, Blood Core. Remember, she wished that you never existed, and look where that brought you."
"Should I just let her and the others free, or should I keep them here to die?"
"You know as well as I that you should keep her here. With her under your control along with your parents, you won't have to worry about anything. Unless you were thinking about betraying us."
"Of course not. If I were to betray you I would've done it already."
"Exactly, but I must warn you, our friend has spies everywhere. We cannot let him know about your sister."
Blood Core obviously has some dark past that no one even knew about. Keep in mind of what he just said to his mystery partner, it will be important later in the story.
Later that night...
"I hope Leah's okay."
"Don't worry, Hyria. Leah will be back before you know it." Tylor said.
"But Tylor, it's already going onto midnight! She should've been back by now."
"I just got a call from Trap. Leah's been pummeled, badly... But she's gonna make it! They're going to be inspecting everyone in the morning." Alex said.
"I hope they don't discover her. If they do, she'll be killed."
"Hyria, Leah's the strongest girl I know. The only thing that can kill her is the blade of the first purple guy."
"Alex, are you saying that William Afton is the only one who can kill my sister?" Tylor asked.
"You make it sound worse than what it actually is, but yes. Thankfully William Afton died years ago."
"What about his descendants? Could any of them wield the blade and be able to kill Leah?" Hyria asked.
"The only one left of the Afton's is Michael, but Leah did tell me that if it is a direct descendent to have the power of the blade." Alex answered.
"Then it's a guarantee. Michael is the direct descendent of the first purple guy."
"Let's just hope Blood Core doesn't know about that."
