Rule Breaker
=Eloise=
I had managed to get onto Roc's motorcycle as gracefully as I could, and I know what he said but I didn't want to invade his personal space.
But as soon as he revved his engine to life, personal space be damned as I wrapped my arms around his middle, I could've sworn I felt a deep sort of rumble deep in his chest...but perhaps that was simply just the rumbling of the loud engine.
Before I knew it he had kicked off and soon we were making our way down the dark street.
The blur of dark trees was kind of intense, mixed with this intoxicating feeling of excitement that came from both being so near him and feeling like I was flying...it all became too much.
As I began to feel overwhelmed I closed my eyes and turned my head to the side just so I could lay my head against his back.
The feel of being close was both amazing and calming, it was odd in that way. Almost as if my body was craving his nearness but my subconscious was telling me if I got too close I'd get addicted.
Everything about Roc warned my very being that he is bad news, that he'd bring nothing but trouble into my life...and yet, something deep inside of me can't help but be super drawn to him. Perhaps that's why I hardly put up much of a protest when he asked me to come with him, or why my eyes constantly sought him out throughout the night.
I knew from this point on, no matter how much I tried to stay away from him (and I would at the very least keep my distance as much as one could in a small town), I would always go with him if he asked me to.
I cringed as even I understood how desperate I sounded.
It wasn't long before we pulled into the small town, the lights from only a few businesses glowed with life. One was a 24hour market, the other a cheap motel, and lastly was a diner attached to a gas station.
As we were at a red light I tapped his shoulder and he turned his head to look at me as much as he could.
I reached out my arm to the right to show him that, that was the direction of my sisters apartment, but as the light turned green he simply turned left and immediately pulled into a parking spot for the diner.
I pulled off the helmet and gave him a deadpan expression.
"You said you'd make sure I got home."
He shrugged, "and you said you wanted to eat before you go to bed." He pointed out.
I sighed as I looked over at him, he was standing next to his bike while I remained seated. "Look I know I'm new to town and all, but something tells me that you're not suppose to be here Roc."
He smirked, "do I strike you as the type of guy who gives a shit?"
I rolled my eyes and tried to cross my arms to snow him I wasn't going to budge on him taking me home.
"Fine." He sounded before turning and leaving me on the bike.
I felt idiotic as I remained in place but had to stay firm on my stance to leave, he entered the diner and walked right up to the counter. I could see him talking and then he took a comfortable seat on one of the barstools as he pulled his phone out and began talking.
I knew very well I could stay outside all night until he took me home.
But as I watched the waitress hand him a bag he left and came back to me. "Hope you like cheeseburgers...I'm gonna start calling you kitten."
"Why the hell would you call me that?" I asked with a slight distaste toward the cutesy nickname.
"Because you remind me of a stubborn and feisty little cat, now take your food and tell me where you're staying."
I gave him the name of the apartments and he muttered "of course you do." Then took off as he seemed to know exactly where the apartments were.
When we reached the front of the apartments he killed the engine and once again got off of the bike, he held his hand out to me and sweetly helped me off of the bike. I placed the bagged food onto the seat of his bike so that I could both remove his jacket as well as finally hand him his helmet back.
"I promise I'm not a super douche or anything, and under normal circumstances I promise I'd walk you up to your door...ya know, make sure you got in and everything." He said almost awkwardly. "I'm sure I've already been reported as it is, not that I mind either way...i'd just hate for you to be caught in the crossfires Hart."
I had to admit he was being kind of adorable, and oddly I found that I really liked when he used my last name as a nickname for me, as if he'd known me for years.
"Well thanks for making sure I got food and made it home." I offered.
He nodded, "and don't worry about your car either, one of my guys was already coming to have it towed when I stopped at the diner."
I smiled, "why do I have a feeling that if I want my car back i'm gonna have to visit you?"
At this he smirked knowingly. "...Perhaps that was the plan all along."
"If I didn't know any better, I'd think there was absolutely nothing wrong with my tires at all."
He put on his jacket and then looked at me, "oh no...your tires were pretty fucked up."
"Fine...And how will I know where my car is?" I asked as I finally grabbed my bag and began making my way toward the apartments.
He put on his helmet and lifted the face mask, "I'll call you Hart."
And just like that he kicked started his bike and revved the engine before taking off.
I wanted to be impressed and possibly even swoon as the handsome heartthrob rode off mysteriously into the night...but all I could think about was how he said he'd call me, but he doesn't even have my number.
