"He's tyrannical now, if we thought his boundaries were harsh before, it is nothing compared to now." A man spoke angrily.
"Anyone who leaves is not permitted to re-enter his lands!" Another man shouted from the back.
"I went to visit my sister in the Marshlands when he put this rule into act, upon my arrival I was denied entrance and was told that I had turned my back on the pack and was now seen as a rogue." A woman in her early forties cried.
I looked over at Rocco, he was visibly angry, I reached over and grabbed his hand to try and ease some of his tension.
"How many refugees are there currently?" Leon (our beta) asked with a slight worry in his voice.
"There's thirty here right now." The first man sounded confidently, "but we've left most of the women and children at the motels.
Even I, as a new comer was shocked to hear an alpha had treated his people so cruelly.
"It sounds like Dorian's just casting everybody out." I said low enough for only Rocco and Leon to hear me.
They both nodded their heads.
"Alpha, even given the situation...thirty is too much for us to take on without the permission of the council." Leon expressed his concern. "I'm sure they wouldn't mind us housing them for a couple if not a few days tops."
"We can't just sit back and do nothing." Rocco sighed, I could see he wanted to help Dorian's old pack members but he was having problems figuring out what to do that wouldn't put our own pack in jeopardy.
"Maybe if we split them up." Leon suggested.
Rocco shook his head firmly, "these people have gone through enough, I won't split them up and have them fear they won't see each other again."
"What if..." I sounded before stopping.
"What is it Luna?" Leon asked.
"Tell us My Heart, your input means the world to me."
"I have a couple of ideas, but I'm not sure about all of the pack protocols or if it breaks any rules." I admitted before continuing. "So I know we have one of the largest packs and people come to us all the time for help, like others packs and Alphas...we've done so many favors how about they help us out now?"
The guys remained listening so I continued.
"What if we can get all of the refugees (I refused to call them rogues) in one safe place, and have not only our pack members but other pack's members sort of protect them until we can get a decision from the council on what ultimately happens to them."
"We do have a fair amount of allies." Leon put in, "we can set up a camp and have 24 hour security on them."
"But even with a rushed decision it could take weeks." Rocco sounded concerned, "and where would we even keep everybody...assuming there's around fifty to sixty refugees now, that doesn't mean there won't be others...we need enough space to fit a small pack."
"What about the field." I offered.
The two contemplated it, "there is enough space out there, we could even clear some trees if need be but there's enough space and ample coverage for the guards." Leon put in.
Rocco began nodding. "This could work..." then he stood up. "Go and gather your people, my Luna will make accommodations for all of you, while my Beta and I get some business taken care of."
I watched as the people thanked Rocco, some cried, but ultimately they all left. I followed Rocco to the car.

Once we got back to the pack house Rocco and Leon went straight to work and I found myself pacing, how was I suppose to find places for over thirty people?
"Luna?" I turned to find Dylan standing there with Grace.
"Hi Gracie." I smiled. Even given the stressful circumstances I couldn't resist taking a moment to hug that precious little girl.
"Hi Lou." She smiled, "daddy brought me to play."
I looked up at Dylan. I didn't even have to tell him that now wasn't a good a time, he could see it on my face.
"What's wrong Luna?" He asked full of concern.
I picked up Grace and let out a sigh, "we need to find housing for possibly 60 people who may be joining the pack...it would only be for a couple of days, weeks if we can get the council approval...but still it seems impossible."
He looked lost in thought before he spoke again, "if you don't mind watching Grace I can handle this."
"Oh Dylan I wouldn't ask you to do that." I sounded grateful but reluctant, I felt like it was my responsibility to get this taken care of.
Even if I had no idea where to even begin.
"Consider it done Luna." He said before he kissed Grace and then pulled out his phone and left the pack house.
Then again, I guess part of being a Luna is knowing your strengths and weaknesses and allowing others to step up if they are better suited for the job.
"Daddy's busy." Grace pouted.
"How about we go and visit Juliette?" I asked, I knew she'd appreciate seeing the child and I was using her as well because I really missed my sister.
The little girl smiled and I walked over to the office. Rocco looked up upon my entrance, "hey Gracie, what're you doing with my Luna?"
"Daddy's busy." She sounded once more.
I filled him in and he actually seemed relieved at Dylan's helping us.
"Well if Dylan's running things at least I can count on shit getting done right and fast."
"Bad words." Grace reprimanded him, her little eyebrows pulling together to indicate she was upset with Rocco.
"Sorry squirt." He smirked. "Anyways I have to get back to this my heart..."
"Don't worry, Grace and I are going over to your parents, figured Juliette can use some cheering up."I said as I looked at the blonde cutie in my arms.
He nodded, "if you need, have one of the pack members drive you since we don't have a car seat for her, at least you can hold her on your lap."
I nodded and as I left the office I felt horrible, I hadn't even thought about a car seat for little Grace. I'd make a terrible mom.
I found an older gentleman and asked him if he could give Grace and I a lift to Diane's house.
He took into consideration that we didn't have a car seat and must've driven twenty miles per hour the whole way there, which of course took us forever to get there, I thanked him when we arrived and informed him I would find another ride home.
Diane greeted us as warmly as usual (probably more so because of Grace).
"Oh Eloise my dearest you should have just called, I have a spare car seat for Grace in my car at all times." She filled me in.
"Good to know." I sounded a little irritated with myself, I hadn't even thought about calling Diane, it would make sense for her to have a car seat and toys and clothes for Grace as she takes care of her so often.
"Come on Grace, lets go and find Juliette." I said happily.
We went straight up to the bedroom and knocked but she didn't answer. "Open it Grace." I whispered as I bent down so the little girl could turn the knob. The door opened and Juliette sat up on the bed immediately, ready to yell. I panicked and pointed at Grace, "she did it."
