"Council members if I make speak plainly." Rocco sounded confidently. "Juliette Hart has no fault in this, she didn't ask for any of this but was dragged into our world by someone who just as easily disregarded her."

I hated to hear my sister talked about like some pathetic girl, but I knew Rocco and I had to make the council see she wasn't at fault and hoped shouldn't be punished because of something her bullshit excuse for a Mate did to her.

"Alpha Wylde, what you insinuate is treacherous toward the other Alpha in question." The Northern council member sounded.

"But is it not true," the western council member sounded in defense of Rocco. "We've all heard what happened, Alpha Travers found his mate in this human girl, he revealed himself to her and opened his pack up to her only to dismiss her after so long."

"We've gotten an official request to unite Harmond pack with Greengrove pack on the grounds that Alpha Travers is to wed the eldest offspring of Alpha Ramirez, his daughter Laura." The Eastern Council member spoke up as she held a piece of paper, presumable the written request. "It is apparently an old betrothal that goes back to the girls infancy."

"Then we've hit the real dilemma ladies and gentleman." The southern Councilman said, his deep voice was decided, "we have to punish Alpha Travers...in the south if a promise of marriage is made its as binding as the actual marriage."

"But if he had a mate then shouldn't that be taken into account?" The Western council member asked?

"We all know of mates and that's something that all parties involved when the original marriage contract was made should've taken into account...even more so the minute he shifted, we can't do what everyone wants us to do otherwise there is only chaos." The northern council member spoke up.

"He knew he was engaged to someone else and still knowingly pursued his Mate, but when he saw that he needed his alliance with the other pack then he rejected his mate..." the northern council member grew visibly angry and slammed his fist down onto the table, "this isn't how Alphas are suppose to act!"

"Here here!" The Southern council member sounded gruffly. "Alpha's lead not follow...We all know and agree that Alpha Travers will be punished... what we need now is to determine what to do with the rejected Mate in question."

They all looked at Rocco and I awaiting our response, so Rocco spoke up.

"Juliette is my Luna's sister and because of that I consider her my family." He said matter of factly. "Some of my pack members have even grown use to her presence."

"That may be Alpha Wylde..." The Western council member said with a sad smile on her stern face, "but the fact still remains that she isn't an official pack member, and there are only two ways for that to be possible."

Rocco nodded silently but I didn't know what the council member spoke about.

There was silence.

"We hate to say it but unless Ms Juliette Hart becomes an official pack member then we have to ask that she be treated like any normal human." The southern pack member spoke up. "Of course we take into account that Ms Hart is Luna Hart's sister so we will not ask you to banish the human from your lands, no she may very well stay involved in your lives as a family or as friends with any pack members who have befriended her, but any pack functions will see her noticeably absent unless as an official member of the pack."

"What of my packs protection?" Rocco's sounded concerned. "Assuming she isn't allowed in my pack house any longer, how will my packs protection extend to her, I will always offer my protection as she is the sister to my Luna and one day will be the Aunt to my children."

The council members spoke amongst themselves momentarily.

Finally the Eastern pack member spoke softly. "Who your pack chooses to protect will always remain solely your choice. You are right that we wish her to no longer be allowed into the pack house but under extreme circumstances such as attacks, she may be allowed to gather with your pack wherever you choose to keep the rest of your people safe (even if that's the packhouse)."

Rocco nodded his head before he bowed, I curtsied politely (albeit awkwardly) before Rocco took my hand and walked us out of the large room.

We stood in the hall as I seemingly tried to take everything in.

I was worried for my sister and I could see Rocco was as well, she needed us now more than ever.

"She needs us Rocco, she's too weak right now." I said sadly.

He nodded his silent understanding and then pulled me into a tight embrace. I let a few tears fall, I would do anything and everything to keep my sister in my life.

Suddenly the sound of heels coming down the hall made me clean up my face and right myself.

"Alpha Wylde, Luna Hart."

We turned to face the female who had spoken out.

It was the Eastern Council member.

She was an elderly lady, tall for a female and extremely thin. Upon first glance you would call her cold and harsh, and given the fact that her hair was pulled back into a tight low bun and wore a smart fitted dress also paid tribute to the tightly wound facade.

But there was something warm in her honey colored eyes that reminded you that she wasn't a stone statue, but a living being with feelings and a heart.

"I just wanted to apologize for the judgment." She said softly. "I realize this can't be easy, especially being so soon after your sister rejection...I understand her wounds are still fresh."

I nodded and thanked her genuinely for her warm kindness and concern.

"Now I want to just remind you of our verdicts."

Rocco grabbed my hand and together we nodded.

"Alpha Travers will be dealt with, because of this I highly advise you keep your sister well out of his grasps, I have no doubt that he or his family will want to retaliate." She said before continuing on. "Also, until Ms Hart becomes an official part of the pack she isn't allowed access into the pack house for obvious reasons (books with Were history, pack secrets) but that doesn't mean she isn't allowed in family houses...you have a week to rehouse Ms Hart."

She gave us a wink and a sly smile before walking away.

"Okay seriously what the hell does she mean Juliette has to become an official pack member?"

Rocco gave me a sympathetic smile, "there are only two ways to become an official pack members, being born into the pack, or marrying a pack member."
