JACE's POV

I couldn't believe of what I was seeing. A part of me was still in denial, couldn't accept that he was really there but my eyes couldn't be wrong. My fists clenched tightly as I gritted my teeth.

"What's happening? Who's that, six?" Viper asked curiously. I looked at him and was about to answer when I noticed something odd.

I looked through my binoculars once again and the person I saw a while ago suddenly disappeared. I didn't see where he went to because I threw a glance at Viper.

"Damn it!" I almost threw the binoculars that I was holding in anger.

"What's happening, Slate? Are we going to attack now?" It was Red.

"I think the enemies already noticed our presence here. Let's charge in before all of them could prepare for an attack." All of them agreed. I contacted Jinn once again.

"We're about to attack. Is everything prepared now?" I asked emotionlessly but my mind was somewhere else, thinking about Neo and that man whom I saw just now.

"Yes. Everything is ready. Our men are already in place."

"Good. Ten seconds before charging in."

"Copy, six. We'll just on standby, waiting for the right time." I then ended the call and started counting to ten seconds.

"—8, 9, 10. Men, let's go!" I whispered yelled as I signaled them with my hand. Everyone stood up and rushed into a forward attack. Each of us were well equipped. We began the attack as silent as possible.

The men at the table that were being entertained by those dancing women were the first ones to notice us and immediately stood up but we were quick to take them down at once by our high caliber guns with suppressor.

Even our guns were special ones which were also designed and developed by the Hatzis Group of Companies. They were specially designed for missions like this to prevent all the enemies to hear our initial attacks.

But because the sexy dancers saw what happened to the men there, they screamed in horror as they ran away as fast as they could. I grunted. Now, all the enemies were surely woken up now.

Just like we've planned, we split in four different teams and went on separate ways. We didn't bother to chase after those women because we knew that these terrorists just kidnapped them and took here for their own pleasure.

While we were observing a while ago from afar, some of those women were even crying because they were being forced to entertain those dirty men against their will but because of fear, they didn't have a choice but to oblige.

Now, they're finally free from these b*stards. The only thing that we should focused on was to save the kids and take each and every member of the Alta Hama Group down.

While walking stealthily, I kept on glancing at every direction, looking for that person but I didn't see him anywhere. Because of that, I've decided to just concentrate on finding Neo and the other kids because my main priority was to being them to safety.

Gun shots could be heard everywhere accompanied by the screams and cries of the innocent people they kidnapped.

"Make sure not to kill any innocent people, especially the children! Before you use any bombs, make sure that no innocent people will be involved. Our priority is to save everyone of them!" I instructed to my men through the communication radio.

Then, a group of men suddenly appeared from the right side and was about to rain bullets at us but we shot them before they could even do so.

"Team, check that cottage over there!" I pointed at the one nearest to us.

"What about you, six?" One of them asked.

"I'll checked the other one. Don't worry about me. Just make sure to eradicate everyone who will show resistance!"

"Yes, sir!"

When I saw them forcing their way inside the cottage, I approached the biggest hut in there and was about to open the door when I noticed someone peeping at me through the right side of the hut from the corner of my eyes.

There were three men and they were about to shoot me. Thankfully, I managed to dive into behind the huge three just a couple of feet away from that hut to take refuge.

They didn't get me because the tree protected me from their bullets. I waited until they stopped shooting before I took one of the grenades that I was carrying and then pulled the pin.

"Fùckers!" I yelled before throwing the grenade to their direction and then quickly crawled back into my hiding spot. The loud sound of the grenade could be heard after that followed by the final screams of those scums.

I then looked around and when I saw that everything was clear, I stealthily walked towards the door of that big hut and then kicked the door.

My eyes widened when a man suddenly wen out of the only door there and then shoot at my direction. I dove into the right to evade the bullets. When I landed on the hard surface of the wooden floor, I quickly shot him on the head.

"Argh!" He then fell on the floor.

Then, two men came to that man's rescue but just like him, I shot them on the head before they could even shoot me.

I then changed ammo and then cocked my gun before slowly but furtively approached that slightly open door. I readied myself to any attacks from the inside, but my heart broke of what I saw when I reached inside.

There were around 30 children inside and all of them were crying in so much fear.

When they saw me, some of them screamed in panic because of the gun that I was holding. I quickly hid it behind me.

"Hush, guys. You don't have to cry. I'm not a bad guy. I'm here to help you all." I said with a friendly tone and then looked for Neo among them but my heart thumped in fear when I didn't see him with them. I felt like my heart stop beating.

Then, I saw Cade and the other kids that were adopted by the Barons. I approached him.

"Cade, where is Neo? Have you seen him?" I asked him. He wiped his tears.

"W-When we arrived here, they separated Neo from us." He answered before a whimper escaped his lips. I wanted to fly into a fit of rage. Neo is missing!

I ruffled Cade's hair to try to comfort him. "Listen to me, Cade. You're already a big boy. I know that you are a brave big brother to everyone, so you shouldn't cry. I'll give you a task. Look after all them while waiting for my friends to come and get you all out of here. Just stay here and don't go out nor make any sound whatever happens, okay? Do you understand?"

He nodded his head. "Sir, Mister. I understand. Please, save Neo too. They might hurt him." He cried again.

"Shhh. Don't worry. He'll be safe. For now, just wait in here and be quiet." He nodded his head.

"Very good." I then went out of the door quickly because I felt so bad looking at the children like that. I then closed the door. I strode my way towards the main door and was about to go out when I remembered something. I contacted Jinn once again.

"I found the children here at the biggest cottage here, 1. I left them inside so make sure to send people to take them into safety. One of the kids is missing and Doctor Baron is nowhere to be found. I have to go find them."

"One of the kids?" He asked curiously which left me wondering why he seemed to be interested about it. Normally, Jinn doesn't ask questions unless he's up to something or know something very important.

"Yes. His name is Neo." He became silent for a couple of seconds.

"So, you've met him already?"

"Yes. Why do I feel like you're hiding something from me with judging by that tone of yours? Do you know something that I don't?" I asked directly. I thought, he wouldn't answer but he did.

"I told you before that there's a possibility that your son is alive, right?" He asked.

"Yes." I answered through gritted teeth. I could already tell what he was about to say and I felt like breaking his neck this instant.

"I wasn't sure yet that time so I didn't tell you that Neo might be your lost son. I just received the report just a while ago, confirming that he's indeed the one." My grip of the cellphone tightened. I knew it! Why did I hesitate when my heart was already telling me about it?!

"And how long were you planning on keeping this from me?" My body was shaking with so much anger even though I felt like breaking down. JC is indeed alive and I've already met him! Oh, God! I saw and talked to my son without knowing that it was him!

I wanted to cry but I knew that my tears wouldn't be able to help me fix the situation. I should be strong and brave to face all these.

"Until I was sure that you would come back to ET VINDEX to finish this mission. Who would've thought that those kids you only saw at the street were actually connected to AHG? Everything became easier for you because you chose to help those kids." His voice was void of any guilt and that added to my anger.

"Fùck you, Jinn! Because of your selfishness, my son is missing right now! Did you even know that I've met him at the party but because I wasn't' sure that he was JC, I left him there and that's the biggest mistake that I did today because of my ignorance and lack of proof! Now, he's nowhere to be found and I'm afraid that the psycho Doctor Baron took him with him!

"I let him slip through my fingers just like that without even knowing the truth! If something bad happens to my son, Jinn, I swear to God that I will kill you! You know what I've been through when we thought that he died that night three years ago. How could you look into my eyes like you know nothing about all this?!"

I was already yelling in so much rage, didn't care if the enemy would hear me. All I wanted to do was to vent out my anger and frustration before I explode. When I first met Neo, my heart already recognized him as JC but because I didn't have any proof and was in the middle of an important mission, I thought it was safest for him to hide for the meantime. But I was wrong. I should've taken him into safety before resuming my mission.

"I didn't tell you about this because I wasn't sure yet. I sent some of our men to investigate about his whereabouts if he's really alive. I was planning to tell you this the moment I discover the truth, especially now that you're doing a huge favor for the organization but it's kinda late now." I closed my eyes and then raked my fingers through my hair.

"Tell me, Jinn. Is this why you asked me to come back to ET VINDEX? Tell me the truth now before my patience runs out." I demanded through gritted teeth.

"Actually, I was planning to use your son's whereabouts the moment I find him for you to come back to ET VINDEX but you came back easier than I thought. And to answer your question; no. That's not the main reason why I asked you to come back to ET VINDEX. If you're going to ask me if I'm keeping something from you right now, my answer is yes, but I can't tell you about it right now because this might affect your concentration on the mission." He answered with a serious voice.

I knew that tone of his. He would never tell me the rest of his secrets whatever I do to him.

"Damn it, Jinn! I'm not in the mood for all this sh*t! Stop acting as if you really care about me! Just tell me what it is! I'm done with all these secrets of yours!" I roared in anger.

"Sorry, bud, but I really can't. The mission is waiting for you so you should concentrate on it for now." Before I could even answer, he ended the call. I cursed expletives as my jaw flexed. I couldn't believe that I actually played along with his game.

I was about to call him when someone suddenly entered and was about to shoot me but thanks to my training, I managed to kill him before he could even pull the trigger of his gun. I then decided to settle everything with Jinn the moment I find my son! I went out of the big hut and helped my men with the remaining enemies.

There were only two huts remaining. The big one where I left the children and the other one on the opposite side of it. The others were already burning down with fire.

Fear surged within me while looking around. There were many dead bodies scattered everywhere while the other remaining members of the AHG got apprehended by my men. I was about to walk my way towards the other remaining hut when I saw Viper coming out of it.

"Six, there are no traces of Doctor Baron here. I think, he escaped again." He reported to me when he saw me. My hands balled into fists as the fear inside of me for my son doubled.

"What about Neo? Did you see him anywhere?" I asked. I felt like my knees were about to give in as my heart thumped.

"Neo? No, I didn't see him. Why? Wasn't he with the other kids that you rescued?" He might've heard from the communication radio when I reported about the kids to Jinn.

"No. He wasn't with them! Are you sure he wasn't inside any of those huts?" I was already panicking while looking at the smoldering fire that was eating those other cottages.

"I'm certain that he wasn't inside those huts when we burned them down. Why do you look so worried? What happened?" My breathing became hard while my mind was refusing to believe that they might've harmed him in any way.

"Listen to me, Viper. Tell our men to look for Neo. Now!" He stared at me in shock for about three seconds before he finally nodded his head.

"I understand, six." He then contacted our men and told them my instruction. The battle was almost done but I refused to just stay there and do nothing. I looked around and when I noticed one of the members of the AHG who was still alive, kneeling on the ground and in handcuffs, I grabbed him by the collar and made him stand up.

"Where the hell did you bring the other kids?! Where is Neo?!" I asked thunderously while looking at him in the eyes. The fear in his eyes was visible as he met the rage in my eyes.

"I-I don't know what you're saying." I gritted my teeth and placed my hand around his neck to retrain his breathing.

"Tell me where the hell is Doctor Baron and Neo before I kill you!" I threatened him like I lost myself. I was so full of rage that I could barely control myself anymore. Knowing that my son was missing again was making me crazy with so much worry and fear.

Just thinking that I lost him again makes me want to kill this man with my bare hands.

"H-He took the kid and ran a-away just a while a-ago." The man answered while struggling to breath. His face was already reddish.

"Which way did they go to?! Tell me now before I lost my patience with you!" The fear in his eyes doubled.

"T-That way. T-They were with s-someone..." He pointed at the southern part of the forest. There wasn't any vivid pathway but I could tell, judging by the way the tall grasses were almost laying down, that people have been using that way for quite sometime.

They must've escaped right away when the battle started. They didn't use any vehicle to escape so that we wouldn't notice them. They surely walked their way down to the bottom of the mountains.

I let the man go and he coughed for air a couple of times as he fell on his knees. I brought out my tracking device, but the signal already stopped in this area. Which meant that they must've noticed the microchip that I attached onto Neo's shirt and removed it before they escaped from here.

Because of so much rage, worry and frustration, I threw the device into the ground and it broke into pieces.

"Damn you! Don't you dare hurt my son, even the tip of his fingers, because I will kill all of you without any hesitation!" I then ran towards the way that the man pointed at just now, attempting to catch up to them.

Wait for daddy, son. I will do anything to save you. I kept on repeating that in my head while running with all my might, uncaring if there were any wild animals that I could encounter. All I had in mind was to see my son and get him back from these monsters.

I made sure to see any possible trace of them so that I wouldn't miss it but until I got to the bottom of the mountain where there was a wide meadow, I didn't see any sign of them. But then, I didn't give up. Kept on looking around until I heard a sound of a helicopter flying up above.

I thought it was just a helicopter that was passing by the area but looked like it wasn't the case.

Panicked surged within me but I couldn't do anything but to stare at it from afar. It was already too far away for me to recognize it from my spot but I could tell that it was indeed the enemies' get away transportation. I couldn't believe that they escaped again! But how come? What went wrong with our mission?!

"N-No...No...JC!" I screamed in sorrow while looking at the helicopter that was too far away already. My eyes watered but I didn't give up just like that. I contacted Jinn on my smartwatch.

"Bud, track down that helicopter that just took off from here! I'm pretty sure that Doctor Baron and my son are on there!" I said with a loud voice when he answered.

"Sorry, bud, but there's a problem with the signal of that helicopter. For some reason, it doesn't appear on our monitor."

"What?! What are we supposed to do now? Is there any way for you to send back the helicopter that we used on coming here so that I could follow them?"

"The helicopter is on the other side of the mountain. Yes, I can instruct the pilot to go there to your location but it's kinda futile already. The enemies are already way too far away."

"Are you saying for me to give up?! My son is with those fùckers!"

"Don't worry, bud. I am certain that they won't harm your son." My eyebrows creased.

"What do you mean by that? How come you sound so sure about it?" I asked through gritted teeth but the line silent went silent.

"Hello? Jinn? Hello?! Fùck!" I cursed when I realized that he already ended the call. I raked my fingers through his hair and then pulled on it in frustration. I felt like was going insane.

"I know that you already have an idea why I'm this certain, six." I almost gasped in surprise when I heard his voice behind me. My forehead knitted and turned around.

"What the hell are you doing in here and what do you mean by what you're saying?" I asked Jinn as I calmed down a little bit.

"I've been behind you since a while ago. I came because I had to make sure of something. I was about to go up the mountain when I saw you here. Anyway, I know that you already know the answer to your question." His voice sounded calm yet the burning emotion in his eyes kinda confused me.

My jaw flexed as I went silent. Yes, I already had an idea of what he was talking about but I just kept on refusing to believe it until now.

"I asked you to do this mission about the AHG because I knew that you're the only one who could stop this group. I'm sure that if I won't give you this mission and destroyed that group without your knowledge, I'm certain that you're going to hold it against me. I'm doing this because I want to give you the chance to choose what to do with him." I was stunned of the last sentence that he said.

"So, my eyes weren't lying to me. He was indeed here; one of them." It was more of a statement than a question.

"I'm not sure how he's involved with the Alta Hama Group but one thing is for sure for now; he's on the side of the enemy. He's the one who helped them escaped from the Baron's mansion and now from here too. I don't know why he's doing all these, but we'll know the answer when the time comes that you finally see him face to face."

"I don't care about his reasons why he's with them. All I care about right now is to take back my son from them. I thought, Doctor Baron was the only enemy together with the rest of the AHG, but I was wrong. Whatever happens, I'm going to destroy whoever gets in my way for me to take back my son." Jinn smirked upon hearing that.

"This is the spirit of the Six that I used to know. You're finally coming back to the old you. If I'd only known that this could bring back the old Six, I already have told you about this earlier." My eyes widened of what he said.

"What? You already knew about him being involved in this since the first time we met after three years?" I asked with a dangerous and almost inaudible voice. He shrugged his shoulders nonchalantly.

"Yes, bud. This is the reason why I wanted you back." I felt like my vision darkened because of what I've heard from him. Because of that, I lost it. My fists landed on his cheek with such force that he fell on the ground.

"Fùck you for hiding all these from me! If you didn't hide all these from me, I could've saved JC from all these! I already had the chance to see and talked to him at the party but I blew that chance to save him! If something bad happens to my son, I'm really going to kill you! I don't care if the ET VINDEX will turn against me!" He was only caught off guard for a second or two before he smirked once again.

"Don't worry, bud. We will not arrive in that situation because I'm sure that you will destroy the whole AHG before that happens. I know what you're capable of and I trust you." I was about to punch him again but the last sentence that he uttered made me stop.

"Ahhhh!" I screamed in so much frustration and rage before shifting my target to the ground. I punched it to vent out my anger until my strength dissipated from my body. Even if I'd kill Jinn right now, nothing could be changed out of that. I realized that it would be better for me to calm down and think clearly before attacking the enemies once again.

Yes, the enemies got away once again but I swear not to let them escape the next time.

JC...Wait for daddy. Please, hold on tight, my son...

Jinn and I went back to the mountains after that but not before deploying another team to try and locate the enemies who got escaped.

We fixed everything up there before we finally went on our separate ways. But instead of going straight home, I've decided to go to New York to visit my mom because I had a lot of things to discuss with her. I called Christine to inform her beforehand. She asked about the result of my mission, but I told her that I would tell her everything when I get home.

When I arrived at my mom's, I rang the doorbell and the maid came to open the door for me. She greeted me and I greeted her back before entering.

"Where is mom, Linda?" I then asked her.

"She's at the terrace, sir Jace." I thanked her and then went upstairs, to the terrace. I indeed saw her there, but she was on the phone. I approached her quietly and was about to hug her to surprise her when I heard what she said.

"This is the reason why I left you. I don't want my son to be like you!" She then ended the call. My body went freeze and couldn't move right away.

She turned around and was about to go back inside but gasped in surprise when she saw me. Her steps came to a halt.

"J-Jace. How long have you been standing there?" Her voice faltered.

"Who was that, mom?" I asked with a stern voice without answering her question. Our eyes locked for a couple of seconds before she looked away.

"It's no use lying to you, son." She heaved a sigh. "It was your father." A gasp escaped my lips upon hearing what she said. Then, my hands balled into fists. Looked like I was right of coming here after all.
