Chapter Twelve
Once I finished eating the bones all that was left was the skull and blood. I licked the blood off my lips.
"Why don't you join us? Our group I mean." Woobie offered.
"Sure."
"Sure." They spoke at the same time. Galaxis nipped Radium.
"Jinx!"
Radium stuck his head in the skull and looked at everyone. He nodded his head as he talked, making the bottom jaw move as if the skull was talking.
"I am Galaxis. Nag nag nag. I always jinx wolves. Nag nag nagitty nag nag!" Everyone laughed.
"Quite the joker!" Woobie barked.
"Oh, shut your trap!" I laughed.
"The moon is staring to rise. We laughed get some sleep." Tank laughed. I nodded and looked at Galaxis instead of Radium since he kept the skull on, "You can sleep here with us."
"Thank you, Shade." She nudged Radium and they laid down towards the back and by the left wall. They curled up together, Radium with the skull on his head still. I sat in the back towards the right wall. Tank laid down in the center.
"Why are you so lonely?" Woobie padded to me and sat by me. I yawned and shrugged. I laid down. He laid down next to me, our pelts brushing slightly, just enough to share warmth. I laid my head on my paws and drifted off to sleep.
"Shard. Wake up Shard." I opened my eyes slowly to a bright light.
I stood up and, after I blinked a few times, looked at a light gray wolf with shining blue eyes. Wait... I could see color? This must be a dream. I stood up. Instead of being in the den with Woobie next to me, I was in a beautiful green clearing with bugs and butterflies.
"S-Stream? Stone?" The two wolves sat next to each other with a pup at their feet that was AT LEAST the size of my muzzle.
"Yes. It is us. You are dreaming, you're dreaming of us." Stone smiled warmly.
"We miss you. And this pup here is our daughter who was soon to be born." Stream smiled warmly as well.
"Her name is Cloud." Stone added. I ran over to them and pressed my muzzle into their shoulders tightly. I breathed in their warm, welcoming scent.
"Please, come back..." I sound like a small puppy crying for their deceased family to deny the physics of nature and return to earth. I jumped as Cloud tugged at my bandana.
"My father didn't give me this, did he?" I mumbled as I role onto my back and licked Cloud jovially.
"Technically he did..." Stream smiled and nudged Stone.
"Stone...?"
"I went out and got that bandana the night before your ceremony and asked her to give it to you. I may have been a strong alpha, but I loved you as my own like Stream did." He bent down and licked my forehead. I smiled licked underneath his muzzle before returning to playing with Cloud.
"We want to give you a gift. Or a skill of ours as a birthday gift since you're going to be a year older tomorrow." Stone smiled and sat straight again. I rolled over and sat up.
"Shade, I will gift you my skill of Strength. These skills will come naturally, so don't expect them immediately." I nodded to Stream, accepting her gift.
"Shard, I gift you my skill of leadership. You will lead when it is most needed and you will like to be alone a lot of the time. You won't be seeing us anymore until your third year birthday or until your first litter of pups. Whichever comes first." They then faded. Everything went black.
