Chapter Six
Later that night, I was in Matt's room and Woobie was in Chase's. I think Chase's door was open, so Woobie could leave freely, but Matt's door was closed so I couldn't leave. I waited at the door, curious if I should wake Matt up so he can let me out. But before I did, the knob turned slightly and the door opened slightly. I stuck my muzzle through and opened it to see Woobie on the other side.
"I have a few tricks hidden in my fur." He grinned mischievously.
"I can tell." I nodded and we headed out and down stairs to the living room door.
He led me to the door and I watched closely as he jumped up and rubbed his paws on both sides of the door knob and he instructed me to pull the bottom of the door with my teeth. With our team work, the door opened. He ran outside and turned to me, waiting. I followed and stopped as I heard Matt's voice, "Bandit! Come here, girl!" I looked at Woobie and he looked at Matt on the porch.
"Go. You're meant to be there." I ignored Matt's voice and began towards Woobie.
I kept walking past Woobie and entered the clearing that led to the woods. I waited for him to catch up, Matt's voice echoed behind us, calling my name repeatedly. As we were about halfway through the clearing, I stopped and crouched in the tall grass. Woobie quickly joined me.
I kept my muzzle in the air. It was a familiar scent and an unrecognizable scent. One was close to Fang's but I couldn't tell, the grass was messing with my senses. I peered through the grass as the wind blew it around. Soon I was tackled by a large wolf. Fang. I was rolled away from Woobie.
"Murderer! You killed them!" He snarled and snapped at me repeatedly. His dark pelt made it difficult to see his moves. I had to rely on his scent line to notice where he was. I threw him off and backed into the tall grass to remain hidden I backed into Woobie. "Woobie, there are two, we can't fight them in this grass, we have to get into the open. We have to go back to the house to fight them." He nodded and stood up. We waited as our opponents got closer. Just as they were at least five feet away, we bolted the way we came. Woobie ran in front of me and made it to the yard. Matt was on the porch with a blanket. He stood up quickly and yelled my name in excitement. He began my way and I snapped fiercely at him. He froze in fear.
