Chapter Nine

A few weeks have passed and my stitches are gone and so is the bandage. Me and Woobie are in the same room now and we are ready to go back to the house with Matt who now has his own car and drives. Woobie's bandage is getting removed from his head today. The vet said it would be different than his other eye and you would be able to tell he was blind in it because it will be foggy and he will have a slight scat. He will be fine. Then the main vet they called a doctor, took something that looked sharp and clipped the bandage. It fell off on its own. His 'new' eye was darker than his other and it had a bit of a lighter stuff in it by the pupil. Matt said it looked cool because his 'new' eye was brown with a bit of light blue and his other was ocean blue.
When we got back in the car, I wasn't sure if I wanted to leave anymore, but Woobie was ready to run away again. As we got out of the vehicle I approached the porch and sat down. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw dried blood. Mine and Woobie's. Matt called me back to the car though. I got back in and he drove off. He stopped on the edge of a forest. He got out and grabbed the door I was next to. He hesitantly opened the door and sighed. Woobie jumped out and waited on me.
"You lived in the woods. You were wild and I understand that.... You're quite smart and I hope I will see you again. Maybe sometime soon." I jumped out and he slipped on my bandana, no blood was there, he must've cleaned it. He then closed the door and got back in the car. He nodded to me and I nodded back, he smiled and drove off. I padded into the woods with Woobie.
"Where to?"
"I want to find more friends that understand me."
"Why not go back to your pack?"
"No," I paused and shook my head, "they probably think I killed Alpha Stream and Alpha Stone. That's why Fang attacked I guess..."
"Am I not a good enough of a friend?" He smirked.
"No, you're my best friend. My only friend... I'm just curious if there are others like us. That understands us."
"Okay, whatever you say Shade."
I grinned and sniffed the air. There were wolves nearby. Our age. I followed the scent, Woobie behind me. We paused to see three wolves surrounding a large wolf.
"Tank, you violated the rules of a Rogue."
"You can't be violating the rules!"
"Loyalty isn't everything!"
"Yes it is. Without loyalty, there wouldn't be trust!" Snarled the wolf in the middle, defending himself.
"You know the rules Tank!" A smaller wolf barked.
"I think he can handle them, let's go." Woobie whispered.
"Nah, let's help him." The middle wolf, Tank, then noticed me and Woobie.
"Loyalty is everything!" I barked to get their attention. Woobie rolled his eyes, but joined my side. The three wolves faced us.
"Trespassers!" Howled the small wolf again.
"We wouldn't have trespassed if you would've kept your territory marked!" Woobie growled.
"It wouldn't matter if we mark them for a dog and a hybrid. They would be too stupid to notice." I then recognized the shepherd.
"Traice?" I stepped forwards.
"Stay back, doggie." The German Shepherd growled.
"Traice, it's Shade. Your niece!" Woobie stopped me from going any closer.
"It might not be your uncle..." He warned me. I nodded.
"Just leave." The shepherd growled.
