SHOT 8

Bhumi's pov!

God! It was so funny to watch his expressions.

If he were a comic character, I am sure smoke would be coming out his ear by now.

Well, serve him right!

How dare he introduce me as his girlfriend? His nerves!

He doesn't know who Bhumika Basu is?

And after today, he will think twice before playing with me.

I played the girlfriend drama to the maximum and I will continue so until he regrets what he did.

The two Mehrotra women took to me pretty quickly.

Roop Mehrotra is the matriarch of the Mehrotra family. And unlike what the tabloids say, she seems to be a very sweet lady.

I actually liked her very much.

Roop Mehrotra had remained married to her husband for only ten years, before Haresh Mehrotra died in an accident.

And in those ten years, Roop gave birth to two boys.

Naksh and Nakul.

Roop, as the business world says, is a force to reckon with.

Following Haresh's death, several people had tried to take over the Mehrotra empire, but Roop put her foot down and took the reins.

And she did that until her elder son Naksh was old enough to take over. Nakul followed his brother soon enough.

This is the information Arohi had shared with me once.

As I already mentioned, Arohi and her celebrity crushes tend to give you whiplashes, because she jumps from one to the next before you could even blink.

And Daksh Mehrotra, Aryamann's elder cousin brother, was once Arohi's crush. And Arohi had browsed the entire history of the Mehrotra and shared them with me and Bani.

Well, the crush perished when Daksh got married to the woman of his dreams. I don't remember the lady's name. I am not much into tabloids and celebrities.

When Arohi started moaning about how her crush got married, I actually zoned out.

What? Don't blame me. If it were her first heartbreak, I would have definitely lent a listening ear or a shoulder to cry on.

But her heartbreak seems to happen on a weekly basis.

How am I to keep track of all that? And thankfully, her crushes have always been limited to people whom she may never ever meet.

Okay! Enough about the Mehrotra family history and Arohi's petty crushes.

Now we are in the dining room, having dinner.

Can you believe it? I am having dinner with the freaking Mehrotra family.

Who would have thought?

The Mehrotras had always been portrayed as a cold and distant family, who only cares about their family members and not anybody else.

But the two women here seem to adore me.

How the hell did that happen in an hour?

Okay!! I am a pretty lovable person. But still.

Arohi called me in between and I told her that I will be back home soon.

We finished our dinner and the house help brought dessert.

Where did these house help and securities come from now? There was no one here when I sneaked in an hour ago. The whole place was deserted.

Well! Except for the hot-headed billionaire who caught me red handed.

I looked at the dessert served before me and my mouth watered.

Gulab Jamun.

Wow. Yummy!!!

Everyone was having the Gulab Jamun except Mr Aryamann Mehrotra.

"Darling, have some gulab jamuns," I said extra sweetly, batting my eyelashes innocently and he glared at me.

God!! If looks could kill.

"He doesn't like sweets dear. Don't you know that, Bhumi?" His mom asked in confusion.

Oh! So he doesn't like sweets.

Yes, as a girlfriend, I must be aware of that important piece of information, right?

Well, then let me give them some new information. New even for Aryamann Mehrotra.

"Oh Mom, I know he doesn't like sweets. But you know what, he likes it when I feed him the sweets with my own hands. Right honey?" I said the last part looking at him, batting my eyelashes and he looked at me in horror.

I took a gulab jamun ball with my spoon and shoved it into his mouth without any mercy.

OMG!!!

The look on his face was very very hilarious. I wanted to laugh out loud at that, but I contained my laughter, not wanting to give away the acting.

But nonetheless, he swallowed it and I heard a surprised gasp from his brothers.

Guess, they didn't expect me to do that.

Or maybe they didn't expect him to eat that.

You people might think that I stopped it there.

If you did, then you don't really know who Bhumika Basu is.

Yes guys! I am a force to reckon with.

No! I didn't stop with one!

I made him have seven gulab jamun balls.

Oh god. I hope he doesn't die from the sugar rush.

I honestly do not want a death in my conscience.

Even if the said person is an arrogant annoying jerk.

"I didn't know that my son would have sweets if his girlfriend was the one feeding him lovingly," his mom said looking at him teasingly and he just nodded jerkily and I smirked at him in victory.

After the dinner, thankfully the Mehrotra family left, leaving the two of us alone.

I heaved a sigh of relief and walked towards the living room couch. Then I took the shirt which I kept on the couch earlier and started walking towards the main door.

"Where do you think you are going, Bhumi?" I heard him ask in his usual cold voice.

"Oh I am planning a trip to Antarctica? Mind joining me, Mr Mehrotra?" I asked sarcastically and he looked at me as if I am the weirdest creature on the earth.

"Of course my home, where else would I go?" I asked, annoyed with his questions. It's pretty late and I need my bed. I need my beauty sleep.

"What the hell was that?" He asked furiously.

"What the hell was what?" I asked in total confusion. What was he asking about? What did I do now?

"Your performance in front of my family," he said in an irritated tone.

"Oh! Why are you asking me? You were the one who introduced me as your girlfriend, Mr Mehrotra. I just played my part to perfection." I said, batting my eyelashes innocently at him.

I saw him taking deep breaths, as if to control his temper.

Oh yes!! Learn to control Mr Mehrotra. I won't be here to teach you again.

"Whatever. Be here tomorrow morning. Sharp ten. We need to discuss more about this relationship. We need a background story too," he said in a serious business tone.

"Why would I come??" I asked, raising an eyebrow at his bossy tone.

If he thinks he can boss around me, he is absolutely mistaken.

Because Bhumi Basu is no pushover.

"Because I said so," he said as if that was enough explanation.

"Forgive me Mr Mehrotra, I don't take orders. Not from anyone." I said in the same tone as his.

"Is that so? Then I will make it my personal mission to teach you how to take orders," he said, stepping closer, trying to intimidate me.

Tough!! Bhumi Basu is not easily intimidated.

"Like I will let you," I said, daring him.

"Oh you will, kitten. You know what will happen if you deny my orders? I can just call the cops now and get you arrested for trespassing," he said, pissing me off.

Oh I need to get out now.

I will just agree that I will come by tomorrow morning. After all, he doesn't know anything about me.

"Fine," I hissed angrily.

"Okay kitten. Tell me your full name," he asked with a smug look on his face.

"Don't call me that you idiot." I said angrily. I hate him calling me that.

"Tell me your name," he demanded.

"Bhumi Gupta." I said, without skipping a beat.

Like hell I would tell him my real name.

"Okay. Give me your contact number Ms Gupta," he asked, turning to take his mobile phone from the tea table.

I quickly switched my phone off without him noticing and told Arohi's old number which is not being used anymore.

He dialled the number.

"It says it's switched off," he said, frowning.

Of course I know it would be switched off. That is why I gave him that number.

"The battery is dead, so I didn't bring my phone here with me." I said with a casual shrug, praying that he wouldn't remember that he had already seen my phone when he first caught me.

"Are you a student? Going to college?? Or are you working??" He asked.

"I am a working woman," I said proudly

"Where?" He continued his irritating questions.

"Logos cafe," I said annoyed with his high handed behaviour.

"Fine, come here tomorrow morning at ten sharp." He said and I nodded like an obedient girl, which obviously I was not.

Like hell I will come back to this hell.

"Now come on. I will drop you home," he said and his eyes widened, as though he himself was surprised by that offer.

"No. I have my two wheeler with me." I said and he nodded instantly.

Seems like he already regrets extending the offer of dropping me home.

I should have just accepted that offer, if only to piss him off.

But spending another minute with this arrogant jerk is impossible.

I was about to walk out when a tall well built man came in. He looks like a security officer.

"Rey. Escort her till the gate," Aryamann ordered.

"Yes Mr Mehrotra," Rey said, agreeing to his master immediately.

"Is he your security officer?" I asked, pointing at Rey.

"Yes," Aryamann said.

"Fire him," I said jokingly and Rey looked at me in horror, making me chuckle.

"Oh come on, Mr Aryamann Mehrotra. He is of no real use. You know how easy it was to sneak into the mansion. The gate was left wide open. And there was a ladder kept ready for me to sneak in. Can you believe it? A freaking ladder near the balcony and the balcony door was left open. It was so tempting to sneak in, you know. As though someone was inviting me to sneak in," I said, reminiscing those moments and both the men looked at me in horrified disbelief.

"You climbed up to the balcony? Using a ladder?" He asked in disbelief and I just shrugged.

"Are you crazy? What if you slipped and fell down? You would have had a broken leg and neck." Aryamann yelled at me, making me flinch lightly.

"Well, I didn't fall off, did I? Look at me. All hale and healthy." I said and twirled in front of them just to prove that I am all okay.

"Unbelievable," Aryamann muttered under his breath.

"Okay Mr Mehrotra. Good night. You too, Rey." I said waving my hands and walked towards the main door.

It would have been more fun to climb down the ladder, but I don't think Mr Mehrotra would be very welcoming of that idea.

I had irritated him enough for a day, and he might have reached his threshold now.

So I decided to take the main door instead.

"Hey! My shirt. I can't let you take it Ms Gupta," he said pointing at his shirt in my hands.

"Oh come on, Mr Mehrotra. It's not like you will go bankrupt if I take this shirt." I said, waving the said shirt in front of his eyes.

"That's my favourite shirt, Ms Gupta," he said and closed his eyes in disbelief.

Seems like he didn't intend to share that particular information with me.

"Well! Forgive me, Mr Mehrotra. I can't go back home without this shirt. My whole effort will be futile if I go without the proof of my adventure. I can't let my reputation of being the dare queen bite the dust," I said and he looked at me in confusion and disbelief.

"Crazy girl," he muttered under his breath.

"I heard that." I said glaring at him.

"Good," he said in a devil may care attitude.

"And I take it as a compliment, Mr Mehrotra." I said, winking at him and he just rolled his eyes at me.

"And do not worry, Mr Mehrotra. I will return your favourite shirt safely tomorrow." I said, gesturing to the shirt and walked out of the mansion.

Hopefully out of his life for good.

Dare completed!

Mission accomplished!
