SHOT 52
Bhumi's pov!
I leaned against him and it felt good.
It was simply a few hours ago, I told myself that I would keep Aryamann at a distance. Will never give him a chance to hurt me.
Then why am I feeling happy, being in his arms.
Why am I melting again?
Won't I ever gain self control where Aryamann is involved.
The woman in me knows that I am playing with fire.
But the mother in me is urging me to go forward. For the emotional well being of my sons. They should grow up in a family with mommy, daddy, aunts, uncles and cousins. That would give them stability. That would help them form relationships. Something I never had.
If they grow up seeing separated parents with broken hearts, they will lose their belief in love. And I don't want that.
I want them to know the joys of love, the excitement of romance and yes, the pain of heartbreak too. They should feel everything to understand life.
For that, maybe Aryamann and I should give it a fair chance.
But unlike last time, my eyes would be open. My heart would be closed. This would purely be a relationship of convenience.
Last time, I was hired for the benefit of his dadi and business. This time, I am agreeing to this for the benefit of my sons.
"For the boys," I agreed softly.
His hold tightened on me and he placed a soft kiss on my hair.
"I won't disappoint you, Bhumi. You will never regret this. I promise you," he vowed and my heart picked up its beat again.
***********
Aryamann's pov!
As soon as the sun rose, the whole family descended back to the hospital.
How Gaurav and Daksh managed to hold them back for the whole night is still a mystery to me.
Sammy was looking bewildered at the sight of so many people in his hospital room. And Abhi was taking charge and introducing everyone to Sammy.
"Sammy, This is Chidd Mamu. This is Gowlav chachu and this is Dakch papa. They are all my friends." Abhi said, clapping his hands in excitement.
"Sammy friends?" Sammy asked, looking at them expectantly.
"Of course we are Sammy's friends too." Siddharth said with a soft smile
"But they were Abhi's friends first." Abhi said smugly and Sammy's lips jutted out, indicating a cry on the way.
"Sammy, look who this is. This is dadi. She came to meet you." Bhumi said, in an excited voice, trying to distract Sammy from crying.
I gently picked up Abhi from the bed and walked out of the hospital room.
"Going where, daddy?" Abhi asked.
"We are going to have a man to man talk, little one." I said and he frowned in confusion.
I took him to the hospital cafeteria and ordered a glass of warm milk and some cookies for him and a cup of black coffee for me.
As the waitress placed the order in front of us, she cooed looking at Abhi.
"Aww. What a handsome little thing you are. What's your name darling?" The old woman asked.
"Abhay Bachu," he said, flicking his head in attitude.
My eyes widened seeing his gesture. Goodness, he might be a little me in looks and temper, but when it comes to attitude, he is a little Bhumi.
The old woman laughed at Abhi's cuteness.
"Okay Abhay, have your milk and cookies," she said and walked away.
"Abhi?" I called out.
He looked up at me and waited for me to talk.
"Next time, someone asks your name, tell them it is Abhay Mehrotra." I told him softly.
"But I am Abhay Bachu," he said with a confused look on his face.
"From now onwards, you are Abhay Mehrotra." I said.
"Why daddy?" He asked.
"Because that's daddy's name. Aryamann Mehrotra. And babies should have daddy's name." I said.
"Then why didn't we have it before?" The ever curious little mind simply couldn't accept without knowing all the facts.
"That's because daddy was away for work. Now that daddy is back, you will have daddy's name." I said.
"And Sammy?" He asked.
"Of course, Sammy too." I said.
"Okay," Abhi accepted finally.
"So, what's your name champion?" I asked.
"Abhay Meh- Mehlo- Mehla" he said and scrunched his nose when he couldn't pronounce it properly.
"Mehrotra. Me- hro- tra." I said and he repeated the words with me.
"Now tell me your name," I said.
"Abhay Mehlotha," he said and beamed when he got it right.
I clapped my hands in appreciation.
After that, he concentrated on finishing his milk and cookies. Once he was done, I started talking.
"Abhi, Sammy is ill. We shouldn't make him upset. If we make him upset, he will become more ill. Do you want Sammy to become more ill?" I asked seriously.
"No. Sammy no ill," he shook his head vehemently.
"So who will take care of Sammy?" I asked.
"Abhi, mommy and daddy," Abhi said, puffing up his chest, as though he was going for a war.
"Yes, so we will not say anything that will upset Sammy." I said and he nodded in agreement.
"Good boy. Now, let's get back to Sammy and give him some cookies too." I said.
"Abhi give Sammy. Abhi give Sammy." Abhi demanded eagerly and I nodded in agreement.
We bought some cookies for Sammy and I handed it over to Abhi, so that he can give it to his brother when we reach his room.
As we reached the room, Abhi jumped out of my arms and toddled over to Sammy, with the cookies in his hands.
He reached near the bed and looked up at Gaurav, who was standing beside him.
"Up!" Abhi demanded to be lifted and placed on the bed with Sammy.
"Abhi? Is that how you ask your chachu for help? What is the magic word we use?" Bhumi asked, making Abhi pout.
"Come on Abhi, say the magic word." Bhumi prompted.
"Gowlav chachu, up pease," he said, with an adorable puppy dog face. It reminded me of the face Bhumi makes, when she wants something to go her way.
Abhi seemed to have inherited all the mischief from Bhumi. Sammy is too exhausted now, so I couldn't figure out what his character is.
"Sure, young man." Gaurav said, picking up Abhi and placing him on the bed, next to Sammy.
"Abhi bring cookies for Sammy." Abhi said excitedly.
"Brought.." Bhumi corrected.
"Abhi brought cookies for Sammy,'' Abhi said and extended the cookies to his brother, who accepted it heartily.
"Anch Mamu.." Abhi screamed in excitement, looking at the door. Sammy also looked excited.
I looked toward the door and saw Ekansh standing there.
"Ansh!" Bhumi rushed to him and hugged him hard.
To think that I used to get jealous whenever she hugged him in the past. I shook my head remembering those days.
*************
Bhumi's pov!
Finally, Ansh is here.
I rushed towards him and hugged him tight. I missed him so much.
"You said you will be here by last evening?" I asked.
"My private jet had some technical issues. I had to fly a commercial." Ansh said.
"Anch Mamu. Here here." Abhi hopped on the bed, asking Ansh to come to them.
I let go Ansh, so that he could go to his beloved nephews.
"Sammy ill, Anch Mamu.." Abhi said, as soon as Ansh reached the bed.
"I know, darling. Mommy told me." Ansh said and hugged both the boys.
"Bhumi, come have breakfast," Aryamann spoke to me and I nodded.
I have decided to give this another chance. Having meals together is simply a part of it.
We walked out of the hospital room and reached the cafe.
As we were having our breakfast, Gaurav joined us. I saw Aryamann glaring at him, but he simply ignored it.
"Why didn't you stay in touch with Arohi and Bani?" Gaurav asked and I sighed.
"I don't know. I wanted to, but somehow, I couldn't." I answered honestly.
"They were very worried. Roohi used to cry, Bhumi. You shouldn't have cut them out." Gaurav said accusingly and I felt extremely guilty.
"Gaurav, that's enough." Aryamann snapped angrily.
Gaurav sighed.
"I am sorry, Bhumi. I shouldn't have accused you like that. It's just that I couldn't watch Roohi crying over you. It used to break my heart. Bani, she is tough. She wouldn't show it outside, but it was clear that she was hurting too." Gaurav said.
Is Gaurav in love with Arohi? What did he mean by what he just said?
He must have read my question on my face, because he laughed lightly.
"No, Arohi and I are not in love with each other. Yes, I do love her. She is my best friend now. Over the past three years, she had become my confidante, buddy, partner in crime. You could call it whatever. She means a lot to me." Gaurav said and that made me smile.
"How? How are they now?" I asked awkwardly, making a small smile appear on Gaurav's face.
"You can ask them directly. They are coming over today. I will leave after breakfast to pick them up from the airport. They are excited about meeting Abhi and Sammy," he said and my eyes welled up at the thought of meeting them after three years.
How will they react when they see me?
Will they be angry? Will they talk to me?
Are they coming only because they know about Abhi and Sammy?
I shouldn't have blocked them out of my life. But it was difficult for me.
For the first few months, I was heartbroken and was simply moping around the apartment Ansh got for me.
Then came Abhi and Sammy. My little bundles of joy.
Life became so busy and hectic after their arrival. I had no time for anything or anybody.
Looking after two demanding little babies takes a lot of time. And I had immersed myself in them, in an attempt to forget my heartbreak and pain.
Gaurav left soon after and I became more and more anxious at the thought of meeting my best friends.
"Bhumi," Aryamann called out softly.
"Yes?" I looked up at him anxiously.
"Stop playing with your food and eat. It's getting cold." Aryamann chided smoothly and that's when I realised that I had stopped eating.
I quickly swallowed the food and Aryamann's eyes widened seeing that.
"Goodness Bhumi, you are going to choke, if you eat like that. Slow down, my love." Aryamann said.
My love! In the past few days, Aryamann has used many endearments when he talks to me and every time I hear it, my heart goes all gaga over it.
"Hello, there?" Aryamann snapped a finger in front of my face and I realised that I had been staring at him.
I coughed awkwardly and he smirked.
"You can stare all day, Bhumi. This is all yours," he said pointing towards him and I glared at him.
"You wish! I wasn't staring. I was thinking about something and I got lost for a moment." I said, with a casual shrug.
"I would like to get lost in you, Bhumi," he whispered huskily and my cheeks coloured as I got the double meaning behind his words.
How could he talk to me like that?
"This is a hospital for heaven sake. Stop your shameless talks." I chided him.
"So it's okay to talk about it outside the hospital?" He asked with a smirk and my eyes widened at that.
"We are not talking about anything, Aryamann Mehrotra." I said furiously.
"Do you know how hot you look when you are angry, Bhumi. I was never able to control myself around you. If you don't keep me away, Abhi and Sammy will have a sibling soon. My preference would be a cute little girl, with mischievous hazel eyes and black curls," he said and I stared at him in horror.
Where is all this talk coming from now?
Why is he talking about more babies?
Didn't he understand what I meant, when I said I am giving this relationship another chance just for the boys?
Does he expect all sorts of marital relationships?
And if I am not ready, can I expect him to stay celibate for the rest of his life?
What if he finds relief in other women!
My skin crawled at the thought of Aryamann even touching other women.
How will I bear it if he makes love to other women!
And what if he already has in the last three years.
There was nothing stopping him from that!
"Already dreaming about our baby making, Bhumi?" Aryamann asked, smirking.
