SHOT 32

FEW DAYS LATER

Bhumi's POV!

"What do you mean I am not allowed to work?" I asked, looking at him in disbelief.

"You can't go to work anymore. Not until the contract is over, Bhumi," he said, more like commanded.

How dare he? Did he think he could get away with ordering me around?

"And who the hell do you think you are to order me?" I asked furiously.

"I am not ordering you to do anything, Bhumi. I am simply telling you what you have signed up for," he said, and I looked at him in horror.

"Don't tell me that was also printed in that stupid contract," I asked suspiciously.

"Smart girl," he said, flicking my forehead and walking into the washroom to get ready for the office.

Seriously? He gets to go to the office. But not me.

What kind of a sick chauvinist is he?

Aryamann Mehrotra! You messed with the wrong person.

Just wait and watch what Bhumi Basu is capable of.

As I was already dressed to go to the cafe, I went downstairs and waited for him, hiding in the kitchen, so that he wouldn't notice me when he passed by.

A little while later, I saw him passing by the kitchen, towards the main entrance, where his car was already there, courtesy of people who are ready to ask how high, when Aryamann tells them to jump. He was looking around searching for someone.

Maybe me!!

Oh! Have no worry, Mr. Mehrotra. You are not getting rid of me anytime soon.

As he got into the car, I ran towards the car and entered the passenger seat, leaving him stunned.

I passed a sweet smile at him, and he frowned at me.

"Where are you going?" He asked authoritatively.

"Coming with you, of course!" I said in a duh tone.

"Where?" He asked again, in the same tone.

"To your office, dumbo," I said, shrugging casually.

"What the hell, Bhumi. Go back. You are not coming with me," he said through his clenched teeth.

Yes! He is getting mad, and that is what I want.

"Yes, I am. You can't keep me locked in here, Aryamann. If I can't go to work, obviously I am going to follow you around. Now come on, my love, start the car. Don't be late to the office and be a bad example for your employees," I said, smiling sweetly and fluttering my eyelashes innocently at him.

He huffed in irritation and started the car.

Office!

As we reached the office, everyone stood up to greet Aryamann, and I waved at Aaron, the cute nerdy guy I met the first time I came to the office.

"Hey, Aaron," I called out, waving energetically at him, and he waved back awkwardly.

Aryamann turned around, frowning at me.

"You know him?" He asked me in confusion.

"Yes. We met the first time I came to your office. He was the one who showed me the way to your cabin," I said, and he rolled his eyes.

As we neared Aryamann's cabin, I saw Riddhi Seth glaring at me, and I immediately wound my arms around Aryamann.

"Honey, are you busy today?" I asked loud enough for her to hear, and Aryamann looked at me weirdly.

"Yeah, kind of," he said casually.

"Aww. That's so sad. I am going to miss spending time with you, my love," I said in a sickeningly sweet tone, which made Aryamann frown more.

As soon as we entered the cabin, I took off my arms and walked directly to the couch and plopped on it as if nothing happened.

"What the hell was that?" He asked, standing in front of me, with his hands folded across his chest.

"What?" I asked innocently.

"All this honey and baby nonsense," he asked.

"Oh, just a show in front of your receptionist, who happens to hate me, for god knows why. And I thought, why not rub it on her face," I shrugged, and he shook his head in disbelief.

He walked straight to his desk, opened his laptop, and started working on something.

Ah! Time for action, Bhumi Basu!

I took my phone out and started playing the American show named "Originals," and kept the volume high enough to disturb him.

"Bhumi, I am working. Stop it," he said.

"I am bored, Aryamann. Let me watch the series," I said, not taking my eyes off the phone screen.

"I can't work, Bhumi. It is distracting," he said, annoyed at me.

"That is not my problem, Aryamann. You are a businessman. You should learn how to focus on your work. You can't just let Phoebe Tonkin distract you. I know she is beautiful. But that doesn't mean you lose your focus on your work," I said, shaking my head in mock disappointment.

"Who the hell is Phoebe Tonkin?" He asked in utter confusion, and I gasped in outrage.

"You don't know Phoebe? Tell me you at least know Joseph Morgan," I demanded.

"Uh, no!" He said with a frown, and I let out a dramatic gasp, clutching my heart.

"How can someone not know Joseph Morgan? Why are you even alive? Haven't you heard of Klaus? Niklaus Mikealson?" I said and played a scene where Klaus is in action, in full volume.

"Arrghh!" He came up to me, snatched my phone, and switched it off. He then kept it in his pocket and walked back to his desk.

"Heyy. I was watching that," I protested.

"And I am working here," he said and got back to his work.

Fine!! As you wish!

I walked towards the bookshelf in the corner and pretended to check it out, and when his focus returned fully to the laptop, I pushed all the books onto the floor, and the books landed on the floor with a loud thud.

"Haww. I am so sorry, Aryamann. I don't know how it happened," I said in a dramatic way, and kneeled on the floor picking up the books.

I heard Aryamann cursing under his breath, and he came forward and helped me pick up the books and arrange them back on the bookshelf.

Once all the books were placed back, I turned around to see Aryamann glaring at me, and I smiled back at him innocently.

"I think I should go and make some coffee. Do you want some, Aryamann?" I asked, smiling brightly at him.

"Of course. I would love some coffee for the headache you have been causing me since we arrived here," he said in exasperation.

I walked out of the cabin and waited for ten seconds before returning back.

"Black coffee or milk coffee?" I asked, peeping my head in.

"Black," he said, and I walked out.

Again I waited for ten seconds and went back.

"Strong or light?" I asked.

"Strong one, Bhumi," he said through gritted teeth.

I smiled at him and walked out and waited for another ten seconds before going in again.

"How many sugars, Aryamann?" I asked sweetly.

"Good God!! Bhumi, bring anything. And yeah, take your time. There is no hurry, okay. Just go and make some coffee," he yelled out in frustration.

"Okay okay," I raised my hands in mock surrender.

I walked out and went to the brewing machine and made two coffees.

After ten minutes, I walked back into Aryamann's cabin with two coffees in my hand. I placed mine on the tea table near the couch and took Aryamann's coffee to his desk and kept it on the table.

"Thank you," he said.

"Oh no mention please," I said, waving my hand in a dismissive gesture, and knocking the coffee cup in the process, staining the papers on the desk along with that.

Aryamann stood up with a start.

"What the hell, Bhumi," he yelled in frustration.

"I am so sorry, Aryamann. Were those papers important to you?" I asked, bringing on my most innocent face.

He took a deep breath and looked at me, his eyes spitting fire.

"Listen, and listen very carefully. Now, you are going to the entertainment room on the ninth floor and wait for me there until I come to get you," he said with a very serious look on his face.

"But-" I tried to interrupt, but he raised his hands asking me not to.

"And tomorrow onwards you can go to the cafe. There! You got what you wanted, right? Now let me work in peace," he said, and I tried not to show the triumph on my face.

Keyword tried, because he is glaring at me even more fiercely which says that he saw that look on my face.

"Sure, Aryamann. Whatever you say. I will wait for you there. Bye," I said with a happy wave and literally skipped out of his cabin.

Aryamann's POV!

I watched in disbelief as she skipped out of my cabin merrily.

What is she made of??

It has been a few days since our return from the honeymoon. A honeymoon with awkward days after our intimate encounter.

I started getting aroused, just thinking about the moments we shared.

The way she moulded against me, like the missing piece of a jigsaw puzzle.

But then, her words came to haunt me again

My body comes with a heart attached to it.

And that is one complication, I have no interest in.

I was actually relieved when the honeymoon was over. The temptation of having her a few feet away was too much for me to handle.

And today, we had a fight about her job at the cafe.

She is getting a huge amount as a part of this contract, then why the hell does she need to go to that cafe and serve people.

She is a Mehrotra for crying out loud.

But who are we talking about?

Bhumika Basu Mehrotra, as she likes to call herself now, is a force to reckon with.

She did everything in her power to drive me mad and get her own way. And she succeeded quite spectacularly.

I grimaced as I saw the coffee stains on the contract papers needed for a meeting the next day.

I dialled my PA through the intercom and asked her to get another set of the contract papers printed out immediately.

Two hours later!

I looked at my watch and saw that two hours had passed.

"I should go and check on Bhumi. God knows what trouble she is up to now," I spoke to myself and stood up from my chair.

As I walked out, I saw my receptionist Riddhi Seth.

"Ms. Seth. Did you see Bhumi? Did she come down from the entertainment room?" I asked.

"No, Mr. Mehrotra. I didn't see her," Riddhi said. I nodded my head and walked towards the elevator.

I didn't find her in the entertainment room. I took my phone and dialled her number. The network operator said that her phone is switched off, that's when I realised that I had switched off her phone and kept it in my pockets.

Damn!

Now, how am I going to find her in this twenty-two storey building?

I walked straight to the security rooms and decided to check the CCTV footage, which was the right decision because I found her in the eleventh-floor cafeteria, munching on some pastries and engaged in an animated conversation with some of my employees.

I even saw a male employee throwing an arm around her shoulder and laughing.

I saw red!

How dare he?

I walked briskly towards them and glared at the man, whose company ID card said that his name is Arthur Matthews.

"Hands off my wife, Matthews," I thundered, startling the little crowd.

Matthews immediately withdrew his hands from Bhumi's shoulder and stood up awkwardly.

"Aryamann. What are you doing here? I thought you would be busy till evening," Bhumi said cheerily, making me more furious.

"I told you to wait for me in the entertainment room," I said, trying to control my anger in front of my employees.

I can see that they are getting scared seeing me there. But Bhumi is as cool as a cucumber.

She simply shrugged.

"I got bored there. What is the entertainment there? A billiards table, chessboard, and some other board games, suitable only for stuck-up people like you. How did you expect me to be entertained there?" She asked, and I looked at her in disbelief.

Only limited people in Mehrotra' empire have access to the entertainment room, and here she is calling it useless.

"If you let me, I can turn it into a real entertainment room. There should be a bookshelf in the right corner. There should be a flat-screen television, with video games connected to it. There should be a drinks counter in the opposite corner, with a variety of drinks available. There should be a music system in the room. That's what you call an entertainment room, Aryamann. Not the one down there," Bhumi said, and I saw my employees looking at her in fascination.

"That's it. We are done for the day. We are leaving," I said, took hold of her hand, and pulled her up.

I shot a murderous glare at Arthur Matthews, conveying my intentions 'stay away from my wife, or I will kill you', before walking away with Bhumi.

Damn it! Why am I being so possessive?
