Chapter 10. Fun Then Another Nightmare
After sitting here staring at the wall for thirty minutes, I grab my car keys, cell phone, and wallet from my desk. Every hard, frustrated step I take echoes down the hall leading into the kitchen.
"I just won't go to that diner to meet her," I say as I open the fridge to grab a bottle of water.
"Hey, babe," Aubrey says as she wraps her arms around me.
"Hey, is this for me?" I point to the blizzard in her hand.
"Yes, this is for you."
"Thank you. It looks delicious."
"Cruz, you feel so tense, Is something bothering you?" I sigh knowing I should come clean, confess my sins, but as usual, I chicken out.
"I'm fine. Aubrey, where is Braylee?"
"Well, as we were making our way towards the car at Dairy Queen, Lydia pulls in beside us with Emily."
"And once Braylee saw Emily, she begged to go home with her and Lydia?"
"You know our daughter so well. I told Lydia I will pick Braylee up in a few hours. You know we are now all alone? I think we should take advantage of these few hours we have alone, babe," her hands reach up and unbutton my shirt.
"Is someone a little eager to have her way with her husband in every room and in every naughty position?" I ask as I lower my mouth onto her neck. I feel her hands aggressively pull at the zipper on my pants.
"Damn, babe, you want me, don't you? And I'm wanting you just as much," I grin as I lift her up on the counter next to the sink. Her legs open, inviting me between them.
"I want you, Cruz," she moans as her fingers travel down my bare chest. My hands grab her hips, pulling her to the edge of the counter for better access to her entrance. I position myself at her opening and thrust forward.
"Oh god, Cruz," she moans.
"Shit, Aubrey. Come here, I want to be deeper inside of you," I whisper. I once again lift her up with her legs wrapped around me. We bounce off the hall wall, unable to keep our mouths off of each other as we make our way into the living room, wanting to get on the sofa.
"Oh my god, yes," she moans as I lower her onto the sofa and thrust myself deeper. She violently thrust her hips, causing me to lose control and thrust harder.
"Oh god, Cruz, harder," she insists. The sight of her breasts bouncing with every thrust and hearing her moan my name pushes me over the edge.
"God, Aubrey," I moan as I feel myself spill inside of her.
"Wow! she looks up at me with a look of satisfaction.
"Right back at you," I lean over and press my lips on her.
"Cruz, is that your phone I hear coming from the kitchen?"
"Yes. Stay here. I will be right back.
As I make my way back to the kitchen, the thought it could be Kendall sends a chill down my spine. I take a deep breath before picking up my phone from the table. Part of me doesn't want to look at the text, but I slowly look down and gasp once I see the text.
"Cruz, I am trying my best not to lose my patience, but if you don't get to the diner within twenty minutes, I'll have no choice but to come to your house. I was serious when I told you I have something important to tell you. You either come here, or I will not hesitate to come to your house. Wonder if your wife will want to join in our important conversation?" she says before hanging up.
"Oh my god what have I gotten myself into? How the hell does she know where I live? Damn it, I now have no other choice but to meet her or she will come here and blow me and my lies right out of the water. If only I could turn back time. I know sure the hell wouldn't go to New York.
"Cruz," Aubrey causes me to jump.
"Hey, babe."
" Cruz, what is wrong, why do you look so nervous?" She questions me.
"I, just want to-"
"Oh don't even tell me, Cruz. The last time you were this nervous, you had to go out of town. That's why you're so nervous, isn't it?" She scolds me as she places her hands on her hips.
"Aubrey, I can assure you, I do not have to go out of town."
"Oh, okay, then what has you so nervous?"
"Well, I have a meeting that I cannot miss, but it's local," I reply and see her smile.
"Oh, well, that makes me feel a lot better. What time do you need to go?"
"I'm sorry, but as soon as I take a shower. I promise I will be as quick as I can. Why don't you go pick up Braylee and bring home some Chinese and we will have a family night and dinner?" She apparently loves this idea from the big, beautiful smile on her face.
"That is a great idea, Cruz. We all can have dinner in the family room and watch a movie together," she quickly pecks my lips before grabbing her purse and leaves.
"Dear lord, if she ever finds out what I did, that's it, my marriage will be over," I sigh as I rub my forehead.
After grabbing my keys and wallet, I peek out the window to make sure Aubrey has left. Once I see she has, I make my way out to my truck and head towards the place I do not want to be at. The entire drive there I go over in my mind what could be so important that Kendall insist on telling me? We have nothing important to discuss. We had our one-night fling and now it's over. There will be nothing else between us.
"Okay, I'm here. I will insist she tells me what is so important I need to know about, then I am out of here." I growl as I make my way into the diner. My eyes soon roam the entire dining area and I see red hair I am all too familiar with. She turns and looks directly at me.
"Hello, Cruz," she says as I step beside her.
"Kendall, I'm here, so just tell me what is so important you need to talk to me about? If you think we are about to pick up where we left things in New York, you need to think again. I was drunk, my wife and I had a horrible fight, and I should never have gone to New York. You need to understand you and I will have nothing between us ever again.
"You finished?" She asks.
"Are you going to tell me what is so important or not, Kendall?"
"Cruz, maybe you should sit down.
"No, I don't plan on staying here, Kendall. Just tell me what is so important?"
"I think you should have a seat, Cruz," she insists.
"Fine, but I am leaving after listening to what you need to tell me."
"Would you like to have dinner with me during our important conversation?"
"Kendall, stop trying to drag this out. Just tell me what it is you need to tell me."
"Okay then. Cruz, it would appear our amazing night together has ensured there will always be something between us. In fact, we will now always have something connecting us together for life," she grins.
"What the hell are you talking about, Kendall?"
"Do I really need to spell this out for you, Cruz?"
"Wait, something connecting us for life? Oh hell no, Kendall."
"That's right, Cruz. I'm pregnant. And yes, you are the father."
"Oh dear god. This cannot be happening."
"Oops, we didn't use protection," she smirks."
"Shit, how could I be so careless?"
