Chapter 3

Frankie

The bell rung for lunch time which made me cheer internally, knowing that I'd be leaving the most boring lesson ever. I got up from my seat and began to pack my books in.

On the bright side, this school is everything I thought it would be. It's spacious, social, everyone has a place here. Everyone seems friendly and the art studio is simply extravagant. The whole building is just amazing.

And plus I made four new friends.

Perrie was the first who was the blonde girl who showed me around most of the time. She was friendly, fun and super funny. She introduced me to the next friend who was called Leigh-Anne, Leigh for short. Then I met Jesy and Jade in math, who coincidentally were best friends with Perrie and Leigh.I found it really cool that the four of them were the closest of friends, and I adored their friendship. They were practically quadruplets. And shockingly,  they just really seemed to like me, which was strange, since most people don't act like that how they did when they first met me. But I'm grateful.

I walked towards the front, where the cafeteria was and stood by the entrance.

Perrie told me to meet her there, so I could sit with her and her friends at their table.

"Hey there." A voice said behind me. I turned around to see the bright smile that Perrie gave, which made me smile back at her. Smiling is something she seems to do a lot. And her smile was simply contagious.

"Hi." I grinned.

"How are you enjoying it here so far?" She asked, as we got in the cue for lunch.

"I'm loving it here, it's really cool. So many nice people, and it's bigger than I expected." I replied, picking up a cheese and turkey sandwich.

"I'm glad you're having fun. Trust me, it'll get better than it already is." She smiled again at me.

Finally paying for our lunches, we proceeded to walk- well, Perrie practically ran, and I followed, to her usual table.

I recognized the faces of the other three girls I've met today once we got to the table that was in the middle of the cafeteria.

"Hello!" I greeted cheerfully sitting on one of the bench chairs.

Smiles and waves were passed to me as I got settled down.

"How's your day been?" Jade asked.

"Better than I thought it would be." I replied.

"Are you thinking about joining any after school clubs." Leigh went on.

"I haven't really thought about that, but there's something about that in my starter pack, so I'll look more into it when I get home."

"I really love your accent!" Jade piped up again.

I laughed at her positivity and said a 'thank you'.

"What part of America are you from?" Jesy asked.

"New York, but I've lived in New Jersey, and Miami for a little bit." I replied.

"That's so cool, I've always wanted to go to Miami. Lucky!" Perrie joined.

I laughed again.

"It's not all that, but the beaches are amazing and the sun is scorching. It's great."

"Yeah, well living in England for this long, I need some sun in my life." Perrie said again. She said pointing at her skin.

"That's strange though, you're really tan." I said laughing at her.

"It's called fake tan, sooner or later I'll have to show you the place." She replied, making all of us laugh.

We continued to talk more and more about me. I revealed a lot to them, but not too much. Just a few basic things, like my hobbies, interests, music, just that. I don't want them thinking I'm a freak on their first day knowing me. At least not yet.

"If you want, you guys can come over to my house later. I live about twenty minutes from here." I suggested.

"Today? Sure but I'll have to leave early. It's Movie Monday at mine." Jesy answered.

"No problem. What about you guys?" I replied, and looked towards the others.

All I got in return were smiles.

Suddenly, I started to feel uncomfortable as we continued our conversation. Like I was being watched. I shifted a bit, but the feeling couldn't go away.

I sat totally focused on what the art teacher was saying. Art and P.E are my best subjects, but art comes first. I love the fact that I can explain my words through art.

Missing most of my school days, and being dyslexic, I can't right that well. If I put a lot of work into it, I would probably get at most a C. So art has been the one thing I knew, and worked hard on, so I can share my feelings through pictures instead of words.

Perrie, Jade and I have this class together, which is good because I don't want to have to do this alone and be around a bunch of strangers by myself.

Earlier, I found out that the art teacher was called Ms. Rhodes. She seems like the type to be really passionate about art. I love teachers like that.

Finding it hard to see what she was writing on the board, I took my glasses out of my cardigan pocket and put them on. I felt a little self-conscious when it came to my glasses because I've been teased a lot about it growing up. But later on, my eye sight got better, and the doctor said I could now wear them when reading or writing instead of all the time. But if I did want to wear them all the time I could.

"I completely forgot to take down the register. Say 'present' if you here your name." Ms. Rhodes abruptly turned around and looked to the class.

"Milo." "Present"

"Allie." "Present."

"Aiden." "Present."

"Christian." "Present."

"Annabelle." "Present."

"Niall" "Present."

I turned around at the foreign accent, much to my dislike, I saw that it was the blonde bombshell from this morning who gave me the "sex" eyes.

When he noticed I was looking at him, he made eye contact with me, giving me a small smirk and a little wink.

I was broken from my thoughts when I heard my embarrassing full name being called out.

"Francesca" "I-I sort of go by Frankie actually, but present." I said, stuttering a bit.

Ms. Rhodes looked at me with a smile on her face. Along with all the other faces in the class, making my cheeks redden a bit.

"I like Francesca more. Do you mind?" She smiled.

"No, not at all." I replied, a little softer.

"And finally, Zayn." She said again.

Silence.

"Zayn?"

Silence.

I heard Ms. Rhodes, mumble something about disappointing her, and then she continued.

"Okay class, now I want you to use the rest of the lesson to create a picture, then do a small written view about what it's about. In the next lesson, we'll use 45 minutes to complete them, then we'll pass them around and everyone will put their views on about everyone's pictures. Don't put your names on it." She explained.

Something clicked in my brain when she said create, so feeling creative, I stood up and got in-line for paper, and the chalk pastels.

Settling down, I tuned everyone out and...created.

"Okay, I'll see you around 4 then?" I asked Leigh-Anne, as she got into her car.

"4." She said with a smile before driving off.

Leigh needed to drop her car at her house before coming to mine. But in the morning she gave Perrie, Jesy and Jade a ride, since they live really close to each other, so the other they could come with me straight to my house.

We walked and laughed together as we neared my car, seeing that the Mercedes I parked next to before, was now gone.

I unlocked the car, getting in the driver seat. Perrie sat in the passenger and Jade and Jesy went in the back.

"Your car is gorgeous, like seriously, are you rich or something?" Jade asked in awe.

"Thank you, and I wouldn't consider myself rich, my sister's a model and she got it for me for my birthday." I explained.

"I knew it! She's that model right. Sacari Sandford? Your last name sounded familiar, I just couldn't piece it together." Perrie piped beside me.

"Yeah, she is. I didn't know she was that big." I smiled at her, before slowly pulling out of the lot.

"She is." Perrie replied.
