be the reason someone believes in the goodness of people

VICTORIA AND GODRIC had arrived at Mystic falls the next night. She was driving one of Eric's car's that he allowed her to borrow, and Godric sat beside her in the passenger side. He had previously been in his coffin which was in the back, but once it hit night-time, Tori had pulled over, and got him out.

"Klaus has found you?" Godric asked after she had finished telling him about why they were going to her home town. "And he finished the transformation?"

"Yes." She nodded, chewing in the inside of her cheek. "I sacrificed myself for my sister, and he killed me. But, our biological father traded his life for mine, and that's why I'm alive. Now, Klaus has realized that our doppelgänger blood is what gives him hybrid's, so that is why he hasn't tracked me down or killed my sister yet. But, I'm guessing he's still causing problems and that's why my sister called me."

Godric nodded as he processed everything she has told him. "I have never met Klaus, but Katherine told me when she ran into my one night. She didn't know I was a vampire, but she knew I was different, and tried to manipulate me. Let's just say that she regretted ever coming to me."

Tori smirked. "That bitch needs to be taught a lesson. If it wasn't for her, my sister and I would have normal lives."

Godric smiled over at her. "You would have never met Eric." He watched as she squirmed slightly in her seat, and smirked. "You drank his blood and that's the only reason he allowed you to leave his side."

She glanced at him. "And because I have you."

He nodded and sighed, looking out the window. "You told Eric about your friend... Caroline?" She nodded and he continued, "she's a vampire, right?"

Tori nodded. "Type B, yes. And she's a bubbly person, and she brights up every room she walks in." She reached over with her right hand and laid it on his hand that sat on his lap. "She's the reason why I brought you with me. I think you two would get along even though you're polar opposites. But trust me, she'll make you look at vampirism like it's something different than you've already experienced."

Godric nodded. "I will accept this friendship."

Tori chuckled and brought her hand back to the steering wheel. "You were going to get friendships no matter what." She giggled when he smiled over at her. "Trust me, they will love you. Between Caroline and Elena, you'll feel over loved."

"I have only known love from my Childe," he said and she frowned at his words.

"You need more than that, Godric, and that is why you were willing to give up." Her heart ached as she pulled up to her house. "This is it," she sighed.

"This is a lovely home," Godric stated as they got out of the car. He looked over at Tori who frowned up at the house. "What's wrong?"

"It doesn't feel like home anymore," she whispered to him, and chewed on her bottom lip. "Is that terrible of me to feel?" She turned to him and he shook his head. "You ready to meet my chaotic family?"

"You already met mine," he chuckled lightly and she smiled brightly at that. "Lead the way."

Victoria took in a deep breath and they walked up to her childhood home, and she opened up the door seeing as they never really lock it anymore. She stepped in and stopped when Elena came running down the stairs. Right when the twins met each other's eyes, they smiled brightly, and ran towards one another.

"I was so scared that you wouldn't show!" Elena exclaimed and then frowned when she spotted Godric at the threshold, staring at them with a fond smile. "Who's this?"

Tori smiled as she turned to Godric. "This is my friend Godric." She then waved him in. "Come in."

"Thank you," he told her as he stepped through the threshold and then held out a hand to Elena. "It's nice to meet you. Victoria has told me so much about you."

Elena nodded and shook his head, raising a brow towards her sister. "You didn't tell me you were bringing someone with you."

Tori sighed. "It's a long story, but I think this trip will help him. He's in a dark place at the moment and I think he needs some Gilbert bonding, don't you?" She then rocked on her heels. "Where's Jeremy and Alaric?"

Elena opened her mouth, about to say something when Damon and Alaric bursted in through the doorway. "Um, hello?"

Damon narrowed his eyes at the sight of Godric and then turned to the twins, a smile appearing on his face when he saw Tori. "Vivi!" He exclaimed and winked at her which she simply shook her head at his action. He then turned to Elena, "We have a problem and it's all Alaric's fault."

"How is this my fault?!" Alaric grumbled and walked over to Tori, pulling her into a hug. "It's nice to see you again, kiddo."

"You too." She then gestured to Godric, "this is my friend Godric and he's here for backup if anything goes sideways." When she saw Damon and Alaric marrow their eyes at him, she informed them, "he's a two thousand year old type A vampire."

Their eyes widened in shock. "Damn."

She nodded and then looked to Alaric and Damon with playful eyes. "So... what did you two do now?"

IT WAS THE next day, and after finding out that Damon, Alaric, and Stefan made stakes out of White Oak, killed Finn, and then gave them to Klaus, and that Alaric's evil subconscious hid his stake; Victoria, Damon, and Elena went to go find Jeremy. They needed to figure out who aired Damon and Stefan so that when they kill Klaus, they won't die either. And due to it being daytime, they had to carry Godric's coffin with them which was weird for the others, but Tori didn't mind.

So, here they were, walking through a baseball court area, and the twins perked up when they saw Jeremy bating. They watched as Jeremy swung at the ball and missed.

"Next time we compel him, remind me to make him better at baseball," Damon retorted which made Tori snort and shake her head at him.

As the twins walked over to the cage, they both shouted, "Hey Jer!"

Hearing his name, Jeremy turned around, and smiled when he saw his sisters standing at the gate. "Toria? Elena?" Looking past them at Damon, he asked, "What's wrong?"

DAMON, Tori, Elena, and Jeremy were walking out of the batting cages after the vampire explained what had happened over the past few weeks.

"Katherine sired us, Rose sired Katherine, all we need to do is find out who sired Rose," Damon explained further to the human.

As he started to put his things away, Jeremy asked, "So, you traveled across the country to get me to talk to a dead vampire?"

Sarcastically, Damon responded, "Dead vampire is redundant, but yes."

Jeremy sighed and rolled his eyes. "Well, I can't. I could talk to Anna and Vicki because I knew them. I've never even met Rose."

"What good is you dying and coming back to life if you can't talk to a ghost when I need you to?" Damon asked, huffing, making Tori slap him on the arm with a frown.

Elena shook her head at Damon before facing her brother. "Rose spent a long time running from Klaus as well. She and Damon were close, so maybe we can use him as a connection."

Jeremy looked to Victoria who gave a hopeful stare, and he sighed. "Fine, fine, but can we do this later? My friend just got here and yes, Damon, I actually have some. I'll call you when I'm done." The youngest Gilbert kissed both his sisters cheeks before walking away.

The girls turned around seeing one the originals, Kol coming their way with a bat in his hand.

"Damon, it's Kol!" Elena shouted as she pulled Tori behind her with wide eyes.

Kol hit Damon with a wooden baseball bat making it break in half and Damon fall to the ground.

"What are you doing?!" Jeremy shouted at him, his eyes wide in confusion and fear.

Kol sighed and walked over to where the other bats were. "You know, I'll never get use to aluminum. But hey, at least it won't break." He swung to hit Damon with the bat, but Damon grabbed it and with his other hand picked up half of the broken wooden bat and stabbed Kol through the chest with it.

"Did you kill him?" Jeremy asked, his eyes wide.

Damon groaned, and even though he was clearly in pain, he made his way over to the twins. "No, but it'll give us a head start. Okay, come on."

They quickly booked it out of there, and Tori glanced back at Kol's body with wide eyes.

THE TWINS, Jeremy, and Damon were getting their luggage out of the car, and started walking to their motel room. It was later that day and they were tired.

As they were heading towards the stairs, Damon said, "For the record, she's the one who wanted to stay in a motel, not me."

Victoria laughed at his comment as Jeremy asked, "So, where are we?"

"Corner of somewhere and nowhere where Kol can't find us," answered Damon as they headed up the stairs.

Still in shock, Jeremy said, "I can't believe Kol was a vampire."

Picking on him as always, Damon said, "Well, didn't you find it weird that you made a friend so fast? Have you met you?"

"Don't be a dick, Dracula," Elena warned making Damon chuckle at her comment. "You're not helping." She turned to her sister and said, "Control your friend, he usually listens to you."

Victoria snorted. "He never listened to me, that's the problem."

As they entered one of their motel rooms, Elena asked, "Well, this should work, right Jer?"

"Yeah, doesn't really matter," Jeremy answered his sister as he moved towards the table in the room.

Sarcastically Damon spoke up as the door shut behind him, "Alright Whoopi, what do you need?" Damon drew the curtains closed adding on, "Candles? Incense? Pottery wheel?"

"That's not how it works," Jeremy told him.

Damon sighed. "I know, I know. They push from the other side and you pull from this one."

Trying to think of a way to see her, Jeremy asked, "Alright, you uh — you got a picture of her?"

Confused, he replied, "Picture? What, a trip to Disneyland? Come on Rose, you're not gonna actually make us wait, are you? I know you're obsessed with me."

Elena scoffed. "If anyone is obsessed with you, it's yourself." Damon rose an eyebrow at her and she simply stared up at him with narrowed eyes.

"All right, uh — tell me something about her," Jeremy told him.

Damon sat down on the end of one of the beds, and rose a brow. "She spent her last day in paradise. Soaking in the sun and reminiscing about what it means to be human. And when death came, she didn't fear it."

"It was in the dream he gave her. She's here," Jeremy said and Damon looked around, not being able to see her, but Rose was sitting on the bed next to him.

"Is she lonely on the other side?" Elena asked her brother, frowning. Even though Rose did try to kill her and Tori months ago, she still liked Rose, and they would've been friends if she didn't die.

"She says not to worry, she's happy," Jeremy told them after a moment of silence. "And that she misses you and Tori."

"I miss her, too," Tori said with a small smile as she looked around the room.

It was another moment before Jeremy said, "She was sired by someone named Mary Porter."

Damon groaned at that. "Uh, Scary Mary. Well, where is she, Rose?"

"WELL, THIS ISN'T creepy at all," Victoria commented as she turned her flashlight on to look around the house. It was a mess. Dust, cobwebs, it looks like no one has been there for a long long time. "I've been in worst places, though."

"It looks like the vampires were hoarders." He nodded in agreement, keeping close to her. He knew she could protect herself, but he still worries for her, especially after he noticed how when someone — specifically a man — moves too fast near her, she flinched. He knew the signs and knows that someone tried to do something against her will. It angered him, but if she wanted to tell him, she would, he wasn't going to force her to.

"Who is this Mary person?" She asked after a moment of silence.

"Scary Mary. Really old, super creepy."

"And how do you know her?" Tori asked before pausing as she saw his hesitant face. "You guys slept together?" She chuckled as she saw his face. "You don't have to feel bad, Damon. I know you're a manwhore."

He scowled and shoved her lightly. "You're annoying, you know that?"

There was a creaking like noise from from behind them, and they quickly turned around to see a door opening. Once they walked inside the room, Echo pointed the beam on the wall and they saw a woman staked with blood everywhere.

"Mary..." Damon breathed out.

"That's just... gross," Tori stated with a sigh.

"Quite the contrary," they heard a voice behind them. The light was turned on, and Kol was shown with a baseball bat in his hands. He smirked as Damon pushed Victoria slightly behind him. "Shame about Mary. She used to be a blast. I quite know what happened. I fear all the time she spent with my family might have ruined her. She was a bit of an original groupie."

Damon narrowed his eyes. "And you were her favourite?"

"You mean, did I turn her? I think I did. But no, wait." Kol smirked as he placed his finger on his lips like he was thinking. "Maybe it was Rebekah. But there was also a Klaus period. And let's not forget about the Elijah affair. I spoke to my brother. I know you're trying to find out about who you are descended from. Now you never will. So... where did we leave off?" He roughly hit Damon with the baseball bat who fell to the floor.

Tori gasped as Kol kept hitting Damon over and over again. She then glared harshly and grabbed a vase from the floor and hit Kol so hard across the head with it that he fell to the floor. The case shattered and went all over the place.

Kol was up on his feet so quick and before he was able to hit her with the bat, Godric was in front of her, and he had a hand on the bat. Kol's eyes widened in surprise before Godric quickly grabbed his face, and snapped his neck. He watched emotionless as the Original's body fell to the floor before he turned to Tori.

"Eric will not be happy about this," he commented and checked her over with his eyes to make sure she didn't have any scratches on her. "You better call him when you get home."

She nodded and then turned to Damon, and helped him up with a grunt. "You really like getting hit on by baseballs, don't you?"

He chuckled and then groaned in pain. "I hate you."

She giggled. "You love me." She smiled as he healed properly and then looked over at Godric who was watching them with soft eyes. "Thank you for helping us."

He nodded. "Of course."

With that, they made their way back to the motel, where Tori had to call Eric to make sure he knew she was fine. It was a long phone call that had Elena snorting and making weird faces at her. But, Tori eventually got him to calm down, and for him to stay in Bon Temps where apparently things were getting weirder by the second.

Sighing, Tori laid down on the bed with Elena, and they cuddled together. "I missed this."

"Me too." Elena ran her fingers through her sister's hair and sighed heavily. "I love you, Tori, you know that, right?"

"Of course I do." Tori looked up at her sister. "I love you too, and that's why I'm going to do this." She watched at Elena furrowed her brows before she tickled her, making the younger twin of the two squeal loudly.
