Recap: 

"No, no, back away." I said, voice breaking. 

He pulled me by the waist and forced his mouth on mine. I struggled under his grip, but it was no use. I almost puked when he invaded my mouth. I tried to pull away, yet again.  

No dice.  

He started undressing. I screamed. He covered my mouth with his own. 

He ripped my shirt off. My jeans followed. I tried to scream, but it was muffled. He was about to remove even more clothing; then suddenly, the door was kicked down. 

We both looked over, and the person I saw standing there, infuriated, was exactly the person I had been calling out to in my mind. 

Surprisingly, considering the circumstances, I was happy. 

Not because I was this close to getting raped, but because, he came to save me. 

He came.

Rachel's P.O.V

"LET HER GO!" I heard Adam scream.

"DON'T COME ANY CLOSER OR I SHOOT HER!" Ricky yelled. I was about to make a smart a** comment about how there was no gun, until I realized there was a gun, and it was pointed to my head. That's going to hurt.

"Eh me gawd!" I screamed, looking over to the gun that was right by my face.

"RACHEL!! JUST STAY THERE!" Adam told me.

Adam stayed in his place, and at first, it didn't seem as if he were going to do anything to save me. Then, so fast I barely saw it he threw my lamp at Ricky. His aim was good; it hit Ricky square in the jaw. Hmm. That's strange. His aim had improved; a few years ago, he couldn't hit a target if his life depended on it! Then again, neither could I, so who am I to talk?

"YOU MOTHER F*CKER!" Ricky screamed.

Enraged, Ricky accidentally loosened his grip; I ran free.

"OH, NO YOU DON'T!" he screamed.

I heard police sirens coming from a distance.

"RACHE!" Adam screamed, pushing me out of the way, just as I heard a gunshot; I fell, hitting my head on something on the way down. Then, I heard police sirens from right outside.

"Rachel." Adam said, in a choked tone.

I saw Adam for about a millisecond, and then, darkness.

"Rachel?" I heard, although it seemed so far away.

"Rachel?" I heard, again.

"Rachel, please, wake up," I heard a voice plead.

I tried to open my eyes, but it was as if I was no longer in control of my body.

"Doctor, why won't she wake up?" I recognized these voices; they belonged to Kia and my mom.

"She hit her head pretty hard; might not wake up for a while," a man's voice answered-the doctor's, I assumed- "Not as bad as the other boy they brought in, though," he mused.

'Adam?' I immediately thought. Again, I tried to open my eyes with no luck. I tried to get up, but I couldn't do that either.

"Eh me gawd, Rachel's going to be heartbroken." Mom sniffed.

"Yea, I don't think she ever realized just how far her feelings for Adam went." Kia said.

'My feelings for Adam? What do they mean by that?'

"Yes, she really does love him." Mom answered.

'Love him? Yea, I love him. As a friend. How do they think I fell about him? I don't love him! He's my best friend; best friends don't feel that way towards their best friends! And I am not going to be the one to break that rule! It would be like me loving Kia, or Adam loving Drew! It's just not right! Not possible! But I don't care about that right now; I just want to know he's okay. What happened? Why can't I get up? Why can't I talk? Why is there a doctor here?' my brain was filled with many thoughts. Too many. I drifted away again. 'I need a nap.' Was the last thing I thought before falling back into my peaceful slumber.
