It was now lunchtime and Piper still had the keycard. She was surprised that she managed to not get caught after having it for so long. She was expecting the soldier to search her once he realized that it was gone, but that didn't happen. Instead, she was able to eat lunch with the others.

Cora and Jane never came back, which was beginning to worry her. She wanted to express her concern to the others, but she knew how that conversation would go. But they had to be worried, didn't they? None of the girls had seen them since breakfast. Where did Janson take them this morning? Why did he want them specifically?

Like before, Piper let the others talk all they wanted while she sat there and ate in silence, trying to figure out what to do next now that she had a keycard. She was now able to go anywhere in this place, so she needed to figure out where to start. Piper looked at the entrance and found Aris entering inside the cafeteria. Relieved to see him, she ran his way and pulled him in for a hug, which threw him off guard.

"Nice to see you, too," he said, wrapping one arm around her.

Piper pulled away, sighing. "Where did they take you?" she asked in a low whisper.

"Let's sit down," he muttered back, leading her to one of the empty tables. The two sat down across from each other, leaning in. "Are you okay? Is everyone else okay?" he asked.

"We're fine, but..." Piper turned back toward the girls that were staring at them, whispering to each other, then she looked back at Aris. "They think they're safe, as if the people here are trustworthy. Janson took Cora and Jane this morning and we haven't seen them since. You didn't see anyone taking them, did you?"

He furrowed his eyebrows, shaking his head. "No, I didn't. Where do you think they're at?"

"I have no idea, but I'm now even more suspicious about this place," she told him. "So where have you been? What did they want with you?"

He huffed a sigh. "They were observing me, examining my brain mostly. They also kept asking me questions about WICKED."

"Janson asked me about them, too," she said. "He said he was going to ask the others as well."

"Was his plan to interrogate Cora and Jane all morning about them?" Aris questioned.

Piper shrugged her shoulders, looking down at the table. "I don't know, Aris."

"Ladies!" Janson announced himself, making all of them turn toward him. "If Angela and Kelsey would come with me." The two girls stood up from their chairs and walked toward Janson. He led them out of the cafeteria, not looking back at the others.

Piper turned to face Aris again, who did the same with her. "We've got to find out what these people are hiding."

Aris nodded his head in agreement. "I'm with you on that, but how are we going to get around this place without being caught?"

"I've got a keycard," she explained, carefully showing it to him, then placing it back in her pocket. "I managed to snatch it at the last minute when a soldier was pulling me off of some Glenner earlier."

"Why were you on her?" he questioned, confused.

"Just to clarify, it wasn't like that, you stick." Aris smiled a little at this. "She said some things that were uncalled for, so I lunged at her."

Aris raised his eyebrows in surprise. "Well...okay, then."

Piper tried her best to hide a grin. "I mean, she should've kept her mouth shut."

"Boy!" a soldier came up to them, grabbing Aris. "Time to go."

Piper and Aris looked at each other one last time before he was taken out of the cafeteria and no longer in her view.

The rest of the day went by quickly. Not to Piper's surprise, she didn't see Angela and Kelsey after lunch. If those girls weren't worried now, then none of them would realize that this place wasn't what it seemed until it was too late. She didn't want that for any of them, but at this point, the only way she could convince them about her theories was to get proof herself.

It was now time for dinner and Piper was hoping that she would see Aris again. But when they arrived at the cafeteria, they all got a huge surprise. "What the hell?" she mumbled.

"Who are they?" some girl asked, pointing at a group of kids inside.

"Looks like we weren't the only Maze," another Glenner spoke up.

Other Mazes? How many more Mazes did WICKED create?

The girls all reluctantly sat down at their usual table, eating and talking like they were the only ones here. Of course, to Piper's disappointment, Aris was not here. She sighed, eating small pieces of her food, listening to the others talk. She slowly began to observe the new arrivals. Unlike their Maze, this Maze had to be coed due to there being boys and girls here. If that was the case, then why was their Maze all girls and one boy? Did that mean there was a Maze filled with all boys and one girl? Where were they? Maybe they were still stuck in their Maze.

"Could any of you imagine being in a Maze for two years with a bunch of boys?" the Glenner that Piper jumped from before spoke up. "I wonder how that would turn out."

"Not good, I bet," someone else added.

So they went back to eating dinner. Just as they were almost done, Janson entered the cafeteria.

"Good evening, everyone!" he announced. "I hope the ones that just arrived feel very welcomed to be here. Now, I am here to tell you all about the Safe Haven." Murmurs began to happen all around, then Janson held up his hand, motioning everyone to be quiet so that he could continue. "I know that many of you are now curious to know about this place, but there will be time to explain for those who get to go. That means only so many can go at a time." Janson took a clipboard and held it up. "I will be calling your name from this clipboard. When I do, please come up here in an orderly fashion and line up behind me." He looked down at the clipboard, scanning the list quickly before he called out someone's name. "Jerry! Camryn! Georgina! Ross! Shay! Alexandra! Liz! And Christopher!" The eight kids that were called stood up and headed toward Janson, standing behind him. "If I didn't call your name, don't be discouraged. You will all be able to go eventually. There is always tomorrow. Your new lives are about to begin!" With that, Janson led the kids out of the cafeteria as everyone else cheered and applauded for him.

"The Safe Haven sounds nice, doesn't it?" some girl spoke up.

"We hardly know anything about it," Piper pointed out.

"I'm sure it's better than the Glen," she said, going back to her food.

Piper rolled my eyes, shaking her head. "Whatever."

Dinner went on as normal as it could be. Piper and the other Glenners were the first to leave the cafeteria to get their showers. When they went to the showers, they were given a fresh set of clean clothes and a towel. Piper stripped off her clothes and made sure the keycard was well-hidden under the clean clothes and towel before stepping into the shower. She quickly washed her hair and body, not wanting to take up much time. Once she was done, she turned the water off and quickly stepped out, wrapping the towel around her body. She quickly dried herself off and put on the clean clothes before anyone else was even out of the shower. The keycard went right inside the pocket, making sure it was safe and secured. After everyone else was done, they headed back to our room, where they were locked in for the rest of the night.

"Well, I guess we should go to bed, then," a girl spoke up, getting into her bed. "Goodnight, you sticks."

"Shut up, crackface," another girl teased, whacking her with a pillow.

"Ow!"

"Oops."

Piper was about to get into her own bed when she managed to trip over her own feet, falling on the ground, the others giggling at me.

"You okay, Piper?" someone asked.

"Yeah, I'm fine," she replied, groaning. As she was on the floor, she noticed a fairly big vent against the wall that was beside the bunk bed she was sleeping on. Piper stared at it, wanting to get closer to it.

"Piper, are you sure you're okay?" the same girl questioned.

She looked up at the girl and nodded her head, getting up from the floor. "I'm sure."

So the girl let it go and got in bed like everyone else. Piper waited until everyone was fast asleep before she got back on the floor and crawled under the bed. Fortunately, the bed wasn't pressed against the wall, so she was able to pull off the cover of it.

Piper took a deep breath. "Alright, let's see where this leads to." With that, she began to crawl inside the vent, more determined than ever to find something that would confirm her theory about this place.
