"Mary? Mary? Mary!" Vince ran to her side as she collapsed onto the ground, catching her and laying her in his arms. "Mary. No, Mary..."
By the time she laid in his arms, it was too late. Mary Cooper was already dead.
"Come on, Janson," Dr. Paige told him as he placed a gun back in his coat pocket. "Load them up. Let's go. Get rid of all these people."
With horrified looks on our faces, the soldiers began to grab us one by one. "Let go of me!" Sonya yelled.
"Sonya!" Harriet shouted her way, grunting at the soldier's grasp.
"No! Don't do this!" I protested, struggling to stay in my place while soldiers tried to grab me.
Thomas was about to walk, too, when he elbowed a soldier in the face and pulled out a bomb and its remote from his jacket. "Get back! Everyone, stand back!" He waved the bomb around at the soldiers, trying to get them to back away from the Immunes.
"Hold your fire!" Janson commanded.
"Let them go!" Thomas screamed.
"Thomas, put it down!" Janson yelled.
"Let them go!" he repeated, more angrier this time.
"You know I can't do that!" Dr. Paige protested.
"Thomas, please stop!" Teresa intervened, her voice desperate. "I made a deal with them. They promised that all of us would be safe."
"And we're supposed to trust you now?!" Thomas retorted.
"It's true! It was her only condition!" Dr. Paige backed her up, trying to sound convinced. "Everything can go back to the way it was." She sadly shook her head. "Do you really want all of them to die, Thomas?"
"Listen to her, Thomas. Think about what you're doing," Janson warned him.
And so Minho, Newt, and Frypan all gathered behind Thomas, who was breathing heavily and at the verge of tears. "We're with you, Thomas," Newt stated.
"We're all with you," Maeve added, motioning towards Lillie, Gwyneth, Harriet, Sonya, Aris, and I.
Teresa shook her head in desperation. "No..." she croaked out.
"Don't, Thomas," Dr. Paige said, shaking her head as well.
"Do it, Thomas," Minho said.
"We're ready," Frypan added.
Thomas' breath became shaky. "We're not going back there." He raised the bomb, huffing a loud sigh. "It's the only way." With that, we all closed our eyes, waiting for the bomb to go off.
"Thomas!" Dr. Paige shouted.
All of a sudden, the sound of a vehicle approached us, the horn going off. All of us opened our eyes to find Jorge driving through the camp at full speed, shouting and laughing all at once. We all moved out of the way as WICKED's soldiers shot at the truck while Jorge collided with the helicopter, sending the blades towards everyone's heads. Everyone got to the ground, the chaos beginning once more.
"Come on!" Gwyneth shouted at me, throwing a gun my way.
The Right Arm began to tackle down WICKED soldiers, taking their guns and fighting back. Some other soldiers took Dr. Paige and Teresa back to the Berg. I was tempted to go ahead and shoot both of their brains out, but I knew that my friends needed me out here.
"Freeze! Don't move, kid!" a soldier yelled at Thomas.
So he took the bomb, threw it their way, and ran to the ground. "Get down!" he shouted at all of us.
We obliged as the loud BOOM went off, sending the soldiers in the air and then to the ground. I got up and scurried around the camp, shooting and hitting at every soldier in sight.
"Piper, look out!" I turned to see Aurora shooting a soldier that was about to take me down. "You're welcome. You're lucky I even saved your ass after elbowing me in the damn stomach."
I rolled my eyes. "Just go! I'll cover you!" I stated, going back to fighting as we made our way towards safety somewhere in the camp. When my gun ran out of ammo, I began to use it to whack soldiers with it in the face, knocking them to the ground.
"Looks like you need to be covered!" Aurora retorted, still shooting her gun at WICKED's soldiers.
Vince and Lillie were now on the back of trucks, firing off machine guns back and forth all over the camp. Once there were no more bullets to fire, she hopped down and took a gun nearby, cocking it and preparing to shoot. "Mae, come help me out!"
"Got it, stick!" Maeve yelled back.
"Piper!" Aris yelled, grabbing my arm.
"Aris, we've got to go!" I told him.
"No, you go! Get to somewhere safe!" he said.
"What? No, we're going together!"
"I'm staying to fight! Be safe! Please, Piper!"
"Aris, I--"
But before I could finish my statement, he pulled me in for a long kiss. I froze in my place, taking in the moment. I felt him pull away, the warmth that was there suddenly vanished. "Go. Please just go!"
I gave him a sad look before reluctantly nodding my head. "Be careful, Aris."
"I will. I promise."
So I ran for safety beside Gwyneth and Harriet. With the gunshots and explosions ringing in my ears and the sight of the fires and the flashing lights of the Berg messing up my vision, we watched the world around us go down in flames.
Thomas, Newt, and Frypan joined us, ducking down behind some boxes. Then, the next thing we spotted made us all gasp in horror.
"Minho!" Thomas shouted, trying to go after his friend that had just been electrocuted by a soldier with his gun.
"Thomas, no!" Frypan shouted, running for him, along with Newt and Jorge.
The next to go down was Maeve. She was whacked upside the head with a gun, knocking her unconscious. "Mae!" I shouted in horror, covering my mouth, trying to stand up.
"You can't go after her!" Gwyneth told me, holding me back.
Lillie was the third to finish her fight as she was also shot down by a soldier. I screamed as loud as I could, the tears flowing down my face. My heart was sinking so low that I wasn't sure how much more I could take.
That was when I saw WICKED take Sonya and Aris.
My eyes widened as my friends were all piled onto the Berg either by force or because they were unconscious to fight back. All of us got out of hiding and watched as the Berg closed its door and lifted off the ground, flying off into the sky.
I began to pant, shaking my head in disbelief. "No. No, this...I can't believe this..."
"Piper, just stop," Aurora spoke up. "It's over. We lost."
"No. No, I just got my friends back!" I protested, crying even more.
"Calm down, Piper," Harriet said, pulled me for a hug. "Just calm down..."
I felt the arms of Gwyneth wrap around us as I kept crying even more. I cried and cried until there were no more tears left to cry out. Harriet and Gwyneth led me to a nearby truck and laid me down in the back seat, letting me rest. "Just leave her alone and let her get some sleep," I heard Harriet say to the others. "I think we all need some sleep, actually."
"Yeah, we've got a lot to do and talk about tomorrow," Vince stated. "Let's just all try to get some sleep. We'll regroup in the morning."
I was listening to the sounds of rustling and everyone getting situated in what was left of the camp. I huffed a long sigh as the last of my tears rolled down my face. I closed my eyes, wanting to block out everything, forget the images of the chaos that we had just endured tonight.
But of course, there was no way that was happening.
So all I could was try my best to fall asleep, despite the fact that everything was not okay. In fact, everything was far from it.

A/N: Well, that just happened, too.
What does everyone think of Aris and Piper?
