14~ Escape plan
>Emma's pov
Darkness.
That was all I could see. All I could feel. A sinister, evil darkness.
A way to familiar darkness.
"Arceus, not this again!" I half groaned, half whimpered. The last time I felt like this was my mental battle with Night before she took over my body and believe me I DO NOT want to go through THAT again. One sarcastic smartass who is to sassy for her own good is enough... Actually it's one to many...
~Be calm Voice of Purity. No one can harm you here.~ A dark voice said.
I turned around trying to find the source.
"Show yourself!" I hissed.
~As you wish.~
A dark form rose from the shadows.
Darkrai.
"What do you want!?" I hissed, raising my arms to a defensive position as I began freaking out inside.
~Calm yourself. I'm here to help.~
"How can I trust you? Last time we met you 'gifted' me with Night." I crossed my arms and glared at him, trying to appear calm.
~You have a right to be mad and not trust me. But need your help and you need mine.~ He said desperately.
"With what?" I said, still not trusting him.
~Well for a start I can help you after you get out of the Team Plasma base.~
"Well that helps. How do you know I'm here or if I even get out?"
Darkrai sighed. ~Just trust me. I'm outside the gates with your Pokemon and my own masters and we have agreed to work together till our masters are free.~
I glared at him. "How do I know you're not tricking me?" I said suspiciously
~You're just going to have to make a leap of faith now aren't you?~
I sighed. "What do you want me to do?"
~*~*~
I gritted my teeth and formed the pink orb in my hands trying to expand it into a force field. As far as I knew I could only use Psychic as a defence rather than offence like the rest of my Lullabies.
The only problem is that it's not exactly the easiest type to control. Faith had said it's because I'm partially menially unstable which I can understand what she meant there.
I heard Silver mumble something under his breath but I blocked him out and continued to focus of the force field.
It expanded but blew up in my hands... AGAIN!
"I give up." I sighed sitting down with my legs crossed, burying my head in my hands.
Silver rubbed my back. "You'll get it eventually."
"Not if we don't get out of here." I stood back up and walked over to the cell door. "Who votes we should get out of here now?"
There was a series of agreements from my friends. When we first started making an escape plan, we thought it was safer if I learn how to make a force field (which I was failing at) but I was getting sick of waiting.
"Okay, we're just going to have to risk it." I held out my hand above the lock and focused on unlocking it.
After about five minutes of heavy concentration, the lock clicked and the door swung open.
The others cheered as Silver and I walked out. I went to Destiny and Sora's cell, doing the same thing as I did before to open her cell, I improved this time, only taking three minutes. Rafe and Red only took one minute to get out.
I signalled them to be quiet by holding my finger over my lips before leading the way down the halls. No one really knew where we were going but an idea came to mind that would help. I stopped walking and closed my eyes. "Guys, give me a sec. I might be able to get us to Faith or Melody."
I focused on my two Pokemon and concentrated on finding them. I had done a little practice at this but I still wasn't that good. I felt their aura pulling me as they to searched for me.
I smiled and opened my eyes. "Got it."
"Then lead the way." Silver gestured.
I lead them down various halls, Silver stuck close to my side since I still felt really weak and dizzy. We snuck threw many rooms different rooms but something just didn't feel right. It was to easy. Surely we should have seen a grunt by now.
"Guys don't you think this had been a little to easy?" I asked as we walked down another hallway.
Sora nodded and tightened her grip on her sword that we found not long ago. "It feels like we're being followed but whenever I turn to look nothing's there."
"The Shadow Triad no doubt." I said looking around carefully. "Something tells me we're being set up."
"What should we do?" Destiny asked looking around worriedly.
I thought for a moment. "It's not far now... I think. The only thing we can do right now is go forward."
The others nodded. "Lets go then but stay close."
I opened another door a crack and looked in. No one was there.
Well no one who posed a threat...
I smirked and walked down the rows of cells that had held me yesterday, stopping outside Shadow's cage smirking at him before looking at the others. "Leave him or bring him with us?" I raised and eyebrow as he looked at me in aware.
"Leave him." Silver glared at Shadow. Obviously he didn't like Shadow... But than again I wasn't his biggest fan either.
I rolled my eyes and held my hand over the lock and focused on unlocking it.
"Why thank you my dear. I see you are learning how to use your powers." Shadow smirked with false interest.
"This doesn't mean I like you." I warned. "I'm only doing this because our Pokemon have apparently teamed up and your Darkrai said he may be able to help me with something if I get you out."
The 7 of us walked down the narrow halls and we wondered into another room.
"Arceus, how big is this place?" I mumbled as we walked into a room that looked like a armoury.
Sora inspected the swords with interest while I paid no attention to any of it. I did know how to use a Bo and I could do archery to but I had my powers for self defence. Even though I was still learning how to use them, I was getting better at the ones I knew and was learning. I looked around the room for a new way out but the only other door was a large metal one hidden well out of the way before a rack of spears. The door was completely blank. Not a single mark. I put my hand on the handle and twisted the knob, pushing the door open, thinking there was no harm in exploring.
Everyone followed me thinking we were moving on but the room was a dead end. I wasn't happy with this, the room was to hidden not to have something in it. I walked into the dimly lit room, gasping when I saw who was locked in a cage tucked away in the corner of the room. I ran over and undid the lock, letting it fall uselessly to the ground.
I ripped the cage door open I got down on my knees and half crawled in the cage, kneeling next to the prisoner inside.
I pulled Rio's head onto my lap and stroked her ear as everyone crowded around curiously.
Rio looked up at me with happy, sad look in big brown eyes. ~I thought I'd never see you again.~ She said weakly, raising her head and lightly licking my cheek happily.
"Shh... Save your energy." I whispered to her, my voice cracking with relief as tears of joy streamed down my face.
Rioyaru looked as if she hadn't eaten since the day I lost her and she looked badly beaten. Scars showed though beneath her fur and her shaggy mane wasn't its normal sunny yellow colour, more of a dried straw colour.
Silver crouched down and looked at us. "How are we going to get her out?" He asked, knowing I would never leave her behind.
I gently sat her head back on her paws, stroking behind her ears while searching my pockets for the only object that could help. In one pocket I found a few dried out Oran berries which I fed to Rio who gladly munched on the sweet berries. In another pocket I found what I was looking for, her Pokéball.
I hugged her tightly, not tight enough to hurt my injured Pokémon but tight enough to show how much I loved and missed her before returning her to the safety of her Pokéball. For a moment, I held onto it tightly, furious with N for what he had done to her. I then slipped it safely in my pocket before I stood up with a fire burning in my eyes. I needed to get her to a Pokémon centre, I don't care if I get caught, I just need to make sure she's okay.
I started though the castle. N no longer had anything I wanted. My friends were with me, Rio's Pokéball was sitting snugly in my pocket and my friends were with me. So I no longer had any reason to hold back against N, he had nothing to use against me to stop me slapping some sense into that douche and get him back for beat the crap out of me, kidnapping and abusing my Pokémon as well as my friends.
We eventually found a large set of double doors, the type you'd expect to find at the entrance to a castle. It took all our effort just to open the damn thing but once we did I kinda wish we didn't... What must of been the entirety of Team Plasma was waiting for us, with N standing at the from with a victorious smirk.
