When Nero woke up, he noticed he was in a soft, warm bed. For a moment he thought he was back at the orphanage, but then he remembered what happened and shot straight up in bed. He saw Vergil and was about to move but the young man immediately said "If you want to stay alive and not be hurt then don't move and don't make a noise." Nero immediately stilled and stifled a cry, tears starting to pour down his cheeks.

Vergil got up and walked over to the kid. He sat down on the bed and pulled Nero on his lap, he wrapped a protective arm around him and stroked his hair while asking "What's your name?" Nero sniffled and said "N-Nero."
"Where are your parents?" Nero wiped away his tears and said "My mommy is dead, my daddy is somewhere. Mommy said he had taken a really good job and would come back for us and we would be a family." Vergil felt like his heart was in a hammerlock, this is his son.

Vergil held Nero close and said "Do you want me to be your daddy? I'll keep you safe and love you as if you were my own child." Nero looked up at his father with wide, hopeful eyes and said "Will you get me out of here?" Vergil smiled lightly and said "Yes, I promise, but it will take some time." Nero smiled and hugged Vergil tightly, excited to leave this place and have a father. Vergil was excited too, excited to have his son back.

The young father set Nero down on the bed and said "Okay, if you want to get out of here with me alive, you have to listen and obey rules, okay?" When Nero nodded, Vergil smiled lightly and said "One, do NOT leave this room unless I tell you too. Two, if someone is coming in here, hide. You cannot be found. Three, do not make any noise, bad people will find you and do bad stuff to you if you do. Understand?" Nero nodded and said "Yes, daddy." Vergil smiled and patted his son's head and got up, saying "Good. Now I'll be back, I have to do some stuff. I'll get you something to eat on my way back."

Vergil set Nero on the bed and said "The bathroom is right there," He pointed at the ajar door next to the wardrobe. He then pointed towards the bookcase and said "There are books in case you get bored." He then grabbed the T.V. remote and handed it to the little kid, saying "You can watch T.V. but the volume has to be all the way down." Nero smiled and nodded, quickly turning the T.V. on and muting it. Vergil patted his son's head and left the room.

He calmly walked down the stairs and out of the living quarters and into his lab. Vergil was given his own personal lab when appointed head doctor. He quickly started mixing chemicals together, using a special machine to combine them and make one more potent than the other. It only took him a few minutes to finish his creation. It was a lethal liquid chemical that when exposed to air would turn into a gas and spread over an area quickly. If by some chance someone decided to hold their breath and try to escape, they wouldn't get far.

Vergil knew he was working with no idiots, he knew as soon as they see someone drop they will know something is in the air and will try to hold their breath and escape. Well if they tried to hold their breath and escape, they wouldn't get very far. They may be smart but Vergil is smarter. After 5 seconds of exposure, the lungs and heart will give out. After 30 seconds, the gas will eat away at the body. No one will escape. Of course, except for him and Nero.

Vergil had put the chemical in specials containers, ones that would explode on the push of a button. He put the containers in the vents, he threw and rolled some so they would get farther into the vents and even get to other rooms. He fingered the remote in his pocket, avoiding the button. Deciding everything was perfect, he left and locked the door to his lab. Heading to the dinning area to get lunch.

As soon as he entered the dinning area, he smelt something delicious and instantly knew what it was. Chicken and cheddar BLTs, chef Lilith's favorite thing to cook. Vergil hid his joy, he would bring one to Nero, hopefully that would help him get through this a bit easier and maybe that could help him make up for what he did. Vergil walked over to Lilith and said "Hello, Lilly." The young chef giggled, she loved hearing her nickname from Vergil.
"Hey, Vergil. I made my best dish as a way to congratulate your achievement." Lilith said with a smile. Vergil returned the smile and said "Thank you. Can I have my lunch to go? Also would you please tell the others I will be eating my meals alone, I am working on something great and I would like to still work while I eat."

"Of course, Vergil. I hope you will show us the great thing you are working on when it is done." The head of the facility said and clapped his worker on the shoulder. Vergil smiled and said "I'm sure that you will be very pleased with my work." Lilith handed the young doctor a tray of food while the boss said "Of course I will! It's your work. You never disappoint." Vergil kept the smile on his face and headed towards the living quarters.

Nero was watching SpongeBob when he heard someone outside the door. He immediately turned off the T.V. and crawled under the bed. He watched as the door opened and someone walked in. They closed the door and set something on the bed.
"Nero, it's okay, come on out, it's daddy." Nero immediately sprung out from underneath the bed and said "I hid, just like you told me to, daddy." Vergil smiled and picked up his son, saying "Good boy, I brought you lunch." He set Nero on the bed and walked over to the bookcase, grabbing a Stephen King book and settling in a chair to read it.

Nero looked at the food on the tray. There was the chicken and cheddar BLT,  french fries seasoned with garlic salt, tiny oranges slices that have been stripped of their thin skin, and a bottle of cranberry apple juice mix. Nero had been in the cells for 3 days and he wasn't given anything to eat or drink the entire time he was there.
"Thank you, daddy!" Nero said and immediately started eating, going with the french fries first. Vergil smiled at his son for a second before turning his head back to the book while his attention was on something completely different.

Vergil was thinking of exactly how it should go down, he wanted to get Nero out alive more than himself. But what he wants more is for them both to get out alive so that way they can be a family. Vergil wants to make up for abandoning his son and leaving him alone for so many years. Suddenly an idea popped into his head and a smile crept on his face, he knew exactly what he was going to do. Vergil set the book down and watched Nero eat before locking his eyes on the window. All that needs to happen now is for it to rain.
