Sort-of-permanently finding your writing motivation: Part 3 of 6
Recap: We've all gotten to know each other and some of us have shared the writing dream that is in our hearts.
Today let's talk about nourishing our soul and feeling our love of writing that comes from deep within our heart.
To do this, I recommend immersing yourself in an environment that is known to inspire you and that helps make you feel connected to writing (please don't do this if it isn't safe right now due to the pandemic! In that case, your imagination may help).
For example, I love walking in forests or by trees alongside a creek. I'm a big nature lover so many of my stories are about protecting the environment and/or take place in natural settings.
I also love being around books. There is something about a bookstore and looking at notebooks and new books that makes me feel excited about writing and feel like a writer.
Another source of inspiration for me: music. In high school I wrote an entire book (called More Than This, part of which is here on Wattpad) that was inspired by my daydreams to The Lord of the Rings and The Pirates of the Caribbean soundtracks.
In fact, my story Lavender Fields is a collection of ideas that came together while my husband and I were riding in the car alongside sprawling fields and beautiful clouds while listening to wordless music (nature + music).
I invite you to find what's in your heart by visiting places or creating environments that nourish your soul so the words, ideas and motivation come to you.
Where do you feel most connected to writing and to what's in your heart?
