LothLórien
Pov narrator
➳
The Fellowship exists, Moria. Boromir tries to restrain Gimli as the Dwarf vents his rage and sorrow. Merry consoles Pippin, who lies crying. Legolas wears a look of shock and disbelief; the immortal elf's eyes show puzzlement. Sam sits on the ground, bows his head onto his hands, and begins to weep. Aragorn wipes his sword clean, sheathes it, and turns to the others. Silveria stands still, looking out at the landscape before them.
Her heart clenches at the thought that she has lost her best friend, mentor, and father-like figure. She could've saved him. She doesn't know why she stopped. She takes a deep breath when Aragorn's voice takes her out of her thoughts. "Legolas, get them up." He says. "Give them a moment, for pity's sake!" Boromir exclaims In anger and sorrow. "By nightfall, these hills will be swarming with Orcs! We must reach the woods of Lothlórien. Come, Boromir, Legolas, Gimli, get them up." Aragorn says. "On your feet, Sam. Frodo? Frodo!" Silveria turns to look where she sees Frodo. He stands alone upon the hillside. Weeping silently, he turns towards Aragorn, a single tear running down his chin.
➳
Chortling, icy blue water gurgles across the dale. Aragorn runs up onto a rock. Framed against a deep blue sky, he looks past the mountains to the green-gold woods beyond. The Fellowship jogs across a grassy field, halting under the leaves of a forest of tall trees. "Stay close, young Hobbits! They say that a great sorceress lives in these woods, an Elf-witch, of terrible power. All who look upon her fall under her spell..." Gimli says, earning a silent chuckle from Silveria.
"Frodo...." A sudden voice appears in Frodo's head. Frodo, startled, looks around. "...and are never seen again," Gimli says. "...Your coming to us..." Frodo halts in his tracks: a pair of eyes flash through his head, making Silveria pause and go over to him. "...is as the footsteps of doom. You bring great evil here, Ring-bearer!" The voocir ends. "Mister Frodo?" Sam asks, also have noticed his master's stop. "Well, here is one Dwarf she won't ensnare so easily. I have the eyes of a hawk and the ears of a fox!" Gimli gloats.
An arrow, notched, appears before his face. "Oh..." Gimli says, surprised. Silveria does nothing, only raise her hands over her head. Other bows at the ready appear around the Fellowship. Legolas has his bow out. The Fellowship looks around, alarmed. A tall, golden-haired Elf appears. "The dwarf breathes so loud; we could have shot him in the dark." He says. His eyes find Silveria, who nods in his way. His eyes narrow but say nothing.
➳
The Fellowship stands on a platform in the rustling foliage. Haldir greets them. "Mae govannen, Legolas Thranduilion." (Welcome Legolas, son of Thranduil.) he says to Legolas. "Govannas vîn gwennen le, Haldir o Lórien." (Our Fellowship stands in your debt, Haldir of Lórien.) the elf prince answers. Haldir glances at Aragorn. "A, Aragorn in Dúnedain istannen le ammen." (Oh, Aragorn of the Dúnedain, you are known to us.) he says and bows his head.
"Haldir," Aragorn says. The elf glances at Silveria. "What's your name?" He asks. "I'm Silveria, lord Haldir," she says and bows her head in her kind of greeting. Haldir's eyes flashed in recognition. "Lady Galadriel had talked about you, my lady." Silveria smiles softly at the mention of the lady. "We're friends, I believe," she answers. Haldir nods. He then moves on to Gimli. "We have not had dealings with the Dwarves since the Dark Days." He says, a disgusted expression on his flawless face.
"And you know what this Dwarf says to that? Ishkhaqwi ai durugnul!" (I spit upon your grave!) Gimli spits. "That was not so courteous," Aragorn says and grabs the dwarf by his shoulder. Haldir glances at Frodo. "You bring great evil with you." He says, then looks at Aragorn. "You can go no further." He walks away. Sam and Pippin turn to look at Frodo. He seems slightly uncomfortable. Silveria sighs as she places a hand on his shoulder.
Aragorn argues with Haldir angrily. "Boe ammen veriad lîn. Andelu i ven!" (We need your protection. The road is fell!) Haldir whispers back inaudibly. "Merin le telim." (I wish we may come with you.) Haldir answers quietly, again so that only Aragorn can hear his words. "Henio, aníron boe ammen i dulu lîn!" (Please, understand, we need your support!) Legolas turns to look at Frodo, who looks uncomfortably away, and his eyes fall on Sam. Sam looks away, a hurt expression in his eyes. Merry and Pippin do likewise.
Gimli glances at Frodo. Silveria is the only one who isn't angry at Frodo. She knows what the ring can do. Aragorn continues to argue loudly with Haldir. "Andelu i ven." (The road is dangerous.) he says. "Gandalf's death was not in vain... nor would he have you give up hope," Silveria says suddenly. Frodo looks up at her. She smiles but vanishes soon. "You carry a heavy burden, Frodo... don't carry the weight of the dead." She ends. Frodo ponders this. Haldir appears, looking less than happy.
"You will follow me." He says. A caravan of Elves leads the Fellowship along a ridge through the golden woods. Boromir glances at Frodo behind him. The group comes to the end of the high elevation and looks out. A marvelous glade of trees rises above them. "Caras Galadhon... the heart of Elvendom on earth. Realm of the Lord Celeborn and Galadriel, Lady of Light." Haldir says, smiling.
