(Mariah POV)

The Hokage explained why we're here and then a different person told us the rules. I heard Sakura telling Sasuke to forfeit because of the curse mark.

"Sakura leave him alone. It's his choice." I whispered.

"But what if it acts up? What if he loses control?"

"He'll be fine."

"How do you know?"

"Because I have a curse mark to and it never got out of hand."

"What?"

I showed her my neck then she stayed quite. (Btw Kabuto doesn't forfeit, and I'm going to change the first match to Mariah and Kabuto).

Then he said to look up at the screen to see who will fight in the first match. We all looked at the screen and it said Kabuto Yakushi vs. Mariah Kira. Everyone gasped, and stared at me while going up the stairs; even the senseis were staring at me.

"She's the most powerful ninja?!" Every genin except my team thought.

I just smirked at this since I knew that everyone wants to know what the last Kira has to offer. I looked up at Orochimaru (who is in disguise but I knew it was him) and he smiled at me. I reached into my weapon pouch and took out a pill. I ate it and it made the pain go away and restored my chakra.

Now it was just me and Kabuto in the arena. We stood in front of each other until the guy said to begin. I jumped further away from him while he started to charge at me with his hand glowing green. When he was about to grab me I kicked him in the stomach. He got up and threw some kunai at me while I threw some at him. I wasn't able to dodge all of them making me wince in pain. There were only a few stuck, one on my leg and another in my abdomen. I quickly pulled them out and I grabbed all of the kunai that were scattered across the floor throwing them all in Kabuto's direction. His eyes widened as he readied himself. He ran towards me, dodging the kunai, and tried to punch me in the face but I disappeared and reappeared behind him and kicked him in the back.

He started to cough up blood but started to get up and appeared behind me. I turned to face him but he had already hit me in the arm with his chakra scalpel. I lost all feeling in my air and it wouldn't budge no matter how hard I tried. I jumped up and kicked him across the arena then appeared in his way before he hit the wall and kicked him again. He was heading towards a wall and he managed to land on his feet and jumped off it then disappeared. I felt him under the ground so I jumped into the air avoiding his hands. When I landed he got behind me and tried to kick me but it was a clone. I still had one more kunai left. I threw it towards Kabuto which flipped making then blunt end hit the back of his knee

He fell onto his knees and tried to get up but couldn't; his nerves were shot. I ran over kicking him a lot and his blood started to smear against the ground. Just as I was going to punch him they stopped the match announcing me as the winner. They took Kabuto out on a stretcher and I appeared next to my team with every single person in there staring at me with shocked expressions.

"Mariah, you need to get those injuries looked at." Kakashi said with a worried voice.

"I'm fine sensei, I'm wearing armor under here. The kunai barley touched my skin." I lied.

"It seems like they did hit you." He said sternly.

"Trust me sensei, I'm fine." I assured.

I looked down at the arena seeing the blood on the floor so they had to have someone clean it up. I sat on the ground and I leaned up against the railing with my legs hanging off. I started to read everyone's minds.

Naruto-that was so cool but scary, I don't want to ever get on Mariah's bad side. Sakura- I'm so glad she didn't do that to us in the academy. Sasuke- she's very powerful, but it seemed like she was holding back. There's no way she's that careless.  Kakashi- She only used taijutsu and is that powerful? Kurani's team- She's scarier than that sand ninja!  Gaara- She's a worthy opponent; I can't to kill her. Hokage- She's more powerful than I thought, this could lead to trouble. Orochimaru- nice work Mariah, you've gotten a lot stronger.

"Wow so basically everyone is afraid of me or can't believe my power." I thought.

Next up was Sasuke and a guy on Kabuto's team. I looked at Orochimaru and I saw a smile on his face as he watched Sasuke. Sasuke put up a good fight but he curse mark was acting up, though he was able to suppress it. He eventually won the fight with lion barrage that he stole from Lee, he started to fall but Kakashi caught Sasuke.. He poofed up the stairs next to me with Sasuke in his arms.

 "I'm going to take Sasuke for a while; Mariah you should come too."

We went into a room and sensei started to write signs on the floor with his blood. Then he told Sasuke and I to take off our shirts so that he could write the seal on us. I took off mine, luckily I had bandages on. I saw Sasuke blush for a moment but then faded away but it made me blush also. Sensei wrote signs on our bodies then asked me to sit in the middle of the circle.

He started with me first. Kakashi did some hand signs and then placed his hand on my curse mark. I felt nothing at first because the pill didn't ware off yet but after a few seconds the pills effect finally wore off and I felt pain everywhere. I bit down on my lip to prevent me from screaming.

"No....I won't.....pass out...I can't...." I panted.

"Mariah, calm down." Kakashi-sensei told me.

"I can't!"

He sighed then did Sasuke's curse mark and when Sasuke passed out Sensei took us straight to the hospital. With much protest, they still put me to sleep. They put a breathing ,mask on my face as they wheeled me into a room. Before I knew it, I was out. I awoke in panic panting heavily. I looked around to see I was in the hospital still and was greeted by a nurse. She told me that they stitched up my arms, legs, and stomach. They operated on my stomach then bandaged it up; my arms and legs were also bandaged. They put a cast on my broken arm and leg.

 They told me that I had to be monitored frequently because of my concussion. That whole time I had my left eye closed because I wasn't allowed to wear my headband. I was still in pain but at least I didn't have to go to sleep. I would do anything but sleep. I was lying in bed for an hour now doing nothing but then I heard someone talking downstairs. I focused on the voice and it was Kabuto's.

"There's such a thing as being too outstanding. We were both unfortunate to catch the eye of Orochimaru-sama."

Even though I was in tremendous pain I got out of bed and jumped out of the window. I felt a floor then grabbed the ledge of a window, swung thru it, broke the glass, and kicked Kabuto with my good foot. He went flying into the wall. I saw that this was Sasuke's room and that there were three ANBU dead on the floor.

"Mariah-sama, you should be in bed resting. Orochimaru-sama wouldn't want you to miss the final exam because you didn't follow the doctor's orders."

"Shut it," I said hiding the pain in my voice.

He suddenly appeared behind me and kicked my broken foot. I didn't want to give him the satisfaction of me screaming so I but my lip. Then he kicked me in my ribs making me fall to my knees onto the floor clutching my ribs. Then he threw a scalpel behind him.

"Just what I'd expect of you, Kakashi. To stop my attack on you from your blind spot.

"You, you're no ordinary genin, are you? Noticing my presence and immediately attacking with your weapon, you're quite a guy." Kakashi said.

"No, not really." Kabuto replied.

"What did you want with Sasuke? Depending on what you want and intend I'll have to capture you and have you interrogated."

"Can that be done? By the likes of you?"

"You want to try me?"Kakashi threatened.

"Why is Kabuto doing this? Is he working with Orochimaru?" I thought.

During their fight I kept an eye on Sasuke. Thanks to Kakashi, he wasn't able to get to Sasuke but he managed to get behind me holding a kunai to my neck. Normally I wouldn't be caught in this situation but I was far too weak to even move. Sensei ran and hit Kabuto away from me only earning me a scrape on my neck. I then felt someone moving and I saw one of the ANBU get up. He ran for the door but Sensei was too fast and had a clone block the way.

I felt another person get up and it was another ANBU. He jumped through the window that I smashed earlier. I started to copy whatever Jutsu he used to escape.

"Just as I thought. This is the dead soul no Jutsu. Where you control the dead body by making a heart beat for a short period of time. As if that weren't enough, he even changed the dead guys face surgically to look like him. I see, he was even careful enough to erase the body odor so I couldn't figure it out by smell. He stopped his own heartbeat and disguised himself as one of the ANBU that he had killed so that he could prepare his escape route. He is worthy of having been raised as the adopted son of the medical unit's squad leader; controlling the dead bodies like this." Kakashi thought.

He turned to me.

"Mariah, are you alright?" He asked.

"Yeah, I'm going to my room now." I said trying to get up but fell.

"I'll carry you there. You're full of surprises Mariah, you fight through your pain. You're in so much pain and just got out of the emergency room but here you pull this stunt."

"Sensei?" I asked.

"Hm?"

"Is Kabuto working for Orochimaru?"

"I believe so."

The rest of our walk was quiet even when We got to my room, he  hooked me up to the machines again and left. ANBU were in front of my door guarding it just like Sasuke's. After a few days everything cooled down and people could visit me which I honestly was excited for. Nurses and Doctors and very boring and too serious. At least my team entertains me. Sakura visited me and told me everything about the final exam. I was fighting this girl from the rain village.

"Thanks Sakura," I said.

"Um Mariah, what happened to your legs and arms?" Sakura questioned.

"Training," I told her, "I train too hard and never got proper treatment so since I have so many scars I keep them covered."

"Well I have to visit Lee and Sasuke-kun. Bye Mariah."

"Bye,"

I was happy she left but also sad since I was all alone in my stupid hospital room. I was completely bored. There's nothing to do in this hospital since I couldn't walk. Around ten at night  I decided that I could technically go on the roof and just lie there for a while. It took some effort to get onto the roof from my window but it was worth it to look at the stars.

After a few hours staring up at the stars I felt someone not too far from where I was so I looked around. Shortly, I spotted a figure in the distance on a roof looking up the sky also. After I studied the figure I recognized it as Gaara; he looked in my direction. I laid back down staring at the stars seeing them twinkle in the dark black sky. They're free out there just being beautiful, have no worries, so many light years away, but they're alone.

After a few hours I went back into my room since the nurses will check on me soon. I went thru the window and into the bed painfully. A few minutes later a nurse came in just to check up on me. She had long brown with blonde highlights. She was a little taller than me and was on the chubby side.

"Miss Kira, you should get some sleep. You'll recover faster." The nurse said.

"Can't sleep," I replied.

"But you have to sleep, it's good for you."

"I refuse to sleep. It brings nothing but pain."

"Sleeping is peaceful miss. You'll feel a lot better if you sleep."

"Nope, I ain't sleeping."

Then she started walking over with a needle in hand.

"What are you doing with that?" I questioned.

"You need sleep. This will help you."

"No! No no no no no no no! Get that away from me! I refuse to have that in me! I hate needles!" I screamed.

Some more nurses and doctors came in to hold me down so that the nurse can put the needle in me. She was getting closer and closer with the needle. I started to panic and sweat was beading down my head. I started to jerk back and forth trying to get free.

"Stay away! I won't sleep! I can't!" I screamed at them.

The needle was almost at my arm; almost an inch away from my vein. Then I summoned my shield and forced them all back away from me. They all hit the wall while I was getting off the bed. They got up and ran at me but none of them were official ninja so it was easy teleporting of the room. Unfortunately, I'm terrible at it and can't aim. I landed in a tree a few blocks away from the hospital but it was a short tree so I had no trouble getting down.

I ran as fast as I could which wasn't that fast because of my foot. I was only at the park which wasn't really that far. I was still in the hospital gown but I didn't really care, since I'm only in a gown. I was there on the swing for hours just staring into space. Then it started to rain really hard. I just sat there unmoving until I heard someone coming towards me.
