Gabby's  POV

I walked into the class room and sat at my seat near the window. The teacher started the lesson and I stared out the window. Shorty? He called me shorty! I started to doodle on my notebook. The year was half way done and I couldn't wait for summer. Not for the nice weather or any of that stuff. But to get away from all the jerks in this school.

Time Skip

I started down the road from the school when the sky became dark and thunder rolled over head. The rain started to fall and I continued to walk. I heard door steps running up behind me so I quickly put my earbuds in(even though I wasn't listening to music). I pulled my hood over my head. Someone, was walking next to me. Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Andy. I jumped as the lightning lit up the sky and the thunder crashed. I heard Andy chuckle. I took my ear buds out and kept walking.
"Say, Shorty. Are you ever going to give me your name or am I going to have to call you shorty?" he asked.
"It's Gabby," I mumbled, rolling my eyes.
"Nice to meet you." he said.
Thunder crashed and I jumped again. This time bumping into Andy. His arm snaked it's way around me. I looked at his arm and then looked at him. He looked down at me and gave me a smile. When I got to my house, I started to walk away but then Andy pulled me back.
"Gabby?" I looked at him. "Are you okay? Honestly."
"Yes. I'm okay. Why do you care?" I mumbled.
"Cause I do."
"You shouldn't," I said walking into my house before he could say anything else.
I walked into the kitchen and grabbed a water bottle from the fridge. There was a note on the fridge.

Gabby,
I won't be home until late tonight. I have some business to take care of. There's ramen in the cabinet. ;)

"Urgh!" I groaned.
I walked upstarts to my room and at at my desk. My cat, Happy, jumped into my lap and climbed up on my shoulders, purring. I smiled and petted his head. I pulled out my homework and got to work.

*Two frustrating hours later*

I looked down at my packet and was trying to concentrate but Andy wouldn't get out of my head. I couldn't believe he cared about me. I sighed and got up from my chair. I made myself some ramen and cooked some salmon for Happy. I watched a movie with Happy for a little until I became tired. We walked back upstairs to my room and I changed for bed. As I climbed in, Happy curled up in a ball by my pillow. I smiled and closed my eyes. Sleep took over faster than I thought it would.
