WHY ME!!

Chapter 1: A Life Unraveled

_____________________________________________

Notice to Readers

Dear Readers,

I want to thank you for giving my story a chance, but I have an important message to share. After much reflection, I’ve realized that this story is far from what I hoped it would be. As a new and inexperienced writer, I made many mistakes in this book.

To grow and improve, I’ve decided to start fresh with a new book that reflects the lessons I’ve learned and the research I’ve done to create a better experience for you. I invite you to check out my latest work:

New Book: THE FALLEN HERO

This new story is the beginning of a journey where I aim to craft a world and characters that you can truly connect with. I’m excited for you to explore it and share your thoughts.

Thank you for your understanding and support as I continue to grow as a writer.

Warm regards,
[ @DJ_SIDDIQUI ]

Satsuriku no Tenshi trudged through his days, burdened by a weight only he could feel. Life in the mundane world had long since dulled. His dreams, once vibrant and full of possibility, were now little more than a pile of ashes. Every morning, he woke with the same gnawing question: Why bother?

The darkness within him wasn't just a passing feeling; it was a constant companion, a shadow that grew deeper each day. It taunted him, filling his thoughts with unrelenting self-doubt. You're nothing. You've accomplished nothing. No one would even miss you.

It was a haunting mantra, one he had repeated so often it had become the truth he believed. He found himself musing bitterly, If I disappeared... would anyone even care? The thought was familiar, almost comforting in its bleakness. For him, it felt like a certainty-a silent acceptance of his own insignificance.

Then, on a day like any other, the world shifted.

Satsuriku was walking through the crowded city streets, lost in the haze of his thoughts. People bustled around him, laughing, talking, living-each one seemingly unaware of the silent battle raging within him. The air was thick with the scent of exhaust, and the sounds of distant laughter echoed like a cruel reminder of a world that had moved on without him.

And then it happened.

A high-pitched, gut-wrenching screech shattered his trance. Tires skidding, a blaring horn. It was as if time itself slowed, stretching the moment out, forcing him to take in every detail. He turned, his eyes catching sight of a truck barreling down the street. In its path stood a young girl, frozen, her eyes wide with terror as the massive vehicle bore down on her.

In that instant, something awakened within him-an impulse, a raw and unfiltered drive. Without thinking, without even understanding why, Satsuriku surged forward, his body moving with a purpose he hadn't felt in years. All his pain, his failures, his darkness-they melted away. In that moment, he wanted only one thing: to save her.

He pushed her out of the truck's path, feeling her small, fragile body stumble away from the danger. Relief, fleeting as it was, passed through him like a wave. But before he could fully process it, a wall of pain struck him. The impact was overwhelming, blinding, and in the blink of an eye, his world faded to nothing.

The Void

In the darkness, Satsuriku floated, detached from everything he had ever known. He thought this was the end, that he would finally be free from the burdens he had carried. Yet, as he waited for oblivion, something unexpected appeared.

A light. Blinding. Warm. It was like nothing he'd ever felt-a warmth that seeped into his very being, dissolving the shadows he had clung to for so long. Confusion overwhelmed him, swirling with a flicker of hope he didn't understand.

And then, he heard a voice. Calm. Ethereal.

"Your life is not over yet."

Satsuriku recoiled, struggling to make sense of the words. Not over? He was dead-he was sure of it. Yet the warmth, the light, the voice... it felt so real. "What... what do you mean?" he stammered, his voice faint, as if speaking were a foreign concept.

The light surrounded him, pulling him further away from the void, enveloping him in a strange serenity. As his vision adjusted, he found himself in a realm of nothingness, an empty space untouched by time or form. He was not alone.

A figure approached, cloaked in shadows, yet draped in a shawl of black and gold that seemed to shimmer with a light of its own. Its face was hidden, obscured by an ethereal veil, but its presence was undeniable-a force that felt both ancient and unyielding.

The figure spoke, its voice resonating in the silence, calm yet commanding. "You are not done yet," it said. "You have another path to walk. Another life to live."

Satsuriku's mind reeled. Another life? But... I'm dead. He felt the absurdity of his own words. He was supposed to be gone. And yet... here he was, speaking, thinking, feeling.

The figure nodded, as if reading his thoughts. "You did die, but death is not the end. There is a world beyond this one-a world that needs someone like you."

A flicker of something unfamiliar stirred within Satsuriku's chest. He wasn't sure if it was hope, curiosity, or something more elusive, but he couldn't ignore it. "A world beyond?" he whispered, his voice hesitant, almost fearful. What could possibly need me?

The figure's voice softened, but it remained unwavering. "A world filled with magic, dragons, and ancient forces that shape its fate. You, Satsuriku no Tenshi, have a role to play."

Satsuriku's thoughts tumbled over themselves. Magic? Dragon? He had spent his whole life knowing the limitations of reality. Magic was a myth, something reserved for stories. "That... it's impossible," he muttered, struggling to process the idea.

With a graceful motion, the figure raised its hand. The void around them shimmered, and images began to take shape-a grand land of towering castles under starlit skies, warriors wielding swords that glowed with raw energy, mages casting spells that split the heavens. Creatures from legends-dragons with gleaming scales, griffons with wings like thunderclouds-soared through vast landscapes.

"This," the figure intoned, "is where you will be reborn." Its voice was steady, almost reverent. "A world where light and darkness are locked in an eternal struggle. The Rulers of Light command purity and order, while the Monarchs of Darkness seek to unravel it."

A shiver ran down Satsuriku's spine. This wasn't just an escape from his old life; it was a chance for something entirely new. Could this be real? Could he truly be given a purpose beyond the life he left behind?

"I... I don't understand," he murmured, his voice wavering. "Why me? I've done nothing. I'm... no one."

The figure was silent for a moment, and when it spoke again, its voice carried a note of something Satsuriku couldn't place-pity, perhaps, or wisdom. "You have survived," it said simply. "And that is enough."

The void around them trembled, fracturing as though an unseen force were tearing it apart. Cracks spread across the space, each one radiating an intense, otherworldly light that threatened to consume them both.

Satsuriku felt a surge of panic. "What's happening?" he cried, his voice raw with fear as the void continued to break apart.

The figure's form began to fade, its edges blurring into the shifting light. "The time for words is over," it said, its voice echoing as it drifted away. "You will be reborn. We shall meet again when you have grown stronger."

The cracks deepened, filling the air with an overwhelming brightness. As the void shattered, Satsuriku felt his consciousness slipping away, drawn into the blinding chaos. The last thing he heard was the figure's voice, fading into the distance.

"Go now."

Rebirth Warmth enveloped him. Gentle. Comforting. As he slowly opened his eyes, his vision blurry and his body weak, he became aware of his new surroundings. He was cradled in someone's arms, feeling fragile and small. Blinking against the soft light, he realized with a start-he was a newborn.

A man's face came into view, his eyes brimming with pride and joy, a broad smile stretching across his face. My... father? The thought was distant, hazy, yet it felt strangely familiar.

Beside the man, a woman leaned close, her expression soft with love. She brushed a tender kiss against his forehead, her voice gentle, soothing. "He's perfect," she murmured, her words like a lullaby.

A strange mixture of emotions stirred within him-confusion, curiosity, and a faint, tentative flicker of something he hadn't felt in so long he barely recognized it.

Hope.

He was here. Reborn. In a world beyond his imagination. This was his chance to begin again, to carve a path beyond the pain of his past.

This was his new beginning.
