Chapter Twenty-Eight: Warning

//Unedited//

"Is that all?"

"Yes.. actually no." A petite, feminine voice chipped in, "I would also like a..." She paused.

"Another twenty pack of nuggets."

Sans scratched his skeletal head, his fingers adjusted the red cap on his head.

"Is that all?" He asked again.

"Yes, that is all."

"Okay your total is fifteen dollars and ninety five cents."

The young lady handed the monster her money before retracting it, "Wait!"

"Oh for God's sake what now woman?"

"Add one large stack of fries."

Sans' eye twitched as he typed into the cash register, "Your total is now seventeen dollars."

The lady paid for her rather large meal, handing over the money which Sans counted and placed into the cash register.

"Here's your receipt, collect your order when it's ready."

"Thank you." She grabbed the receipt, "Oh and one more thing," she glared at Sans, "You should really learn some manners."

The skeletal monster brought forth every ounce of his energy to not lash out, instead he just nodded and served the next human.

"Welcome to McDonald's, can I take your order?"

____ ____ ____ ____

"F*cking humans," Sans plopped himself onto the couch, "EVERYWHERE!"

"Why can't they make up their f*cking mind?!"

Rolling himself off the couch he landed with a thud onto the carpet, "And I'm the one who needs to learn manners?!"

"Get f*cking real!"

Satisfied with his rant Sans let out a large breath, "I need sleep."

Lazily standing up Sans treaded toward the bedroom, he plopped himself onto the bed and wrapped himself in the covers.

Two shut eyes later an alarm went off.

"Sh*t! I have work in ten minutes!"

Stumbling out of bed and getting stuck in blanket covers Sans hurriedly scurried out of the house.

At times like these it was a good feeling to have no hair otherwise it'll be everywhere.

Huffing and puffing his feet trudged against the pavement as he ran through different streets.

He came to a halt once he reached the 'town hall library' although he had stopped running he continued breathing heavily, catching his breath while slowly trudging up the stairs and into the building.

"I'm he-re." Sans groaned.

"And you're late."

Looking at the clock which read, 'two, thirty-two.' the skeleton groaned again, "By two minutes."

"Two minutes of valuable time!" A figure about thirteen inches taller than Sans with cropped brown hair, pale skin and large, thick black framed glasses crossed his arms.

"I was rather skeptical about a monster working in my store but you said you'd try." His arms remained crossed but he took a step closer to Sans.

"And those slippers don't look like much effort put in." He gestured to Sans' fluffy slippers.

"Now listen here bud, I'll let you off with a warning but if you slip up one more time I'll have no choice but to fire you."

The human male uncrossed his arms and pointed to Sans with his index finger, "Do I make myself clear?"

Sans grumbled an answer but it was inaudible.

"What was that?"

"I said yes."

"Good now make yourself useful." The human male turned his back to Sans an mumbled, "You good for nothing monster."

____ ____ ____ ____

"Excuse me mister?"

Sans turned around, book in hand to face a small child, no other than the age of seven, she had pale blue eyes and rough red hair, small but many freckles dusted her cheeks.

"Whaddya want?"

"Are you a monster?" The little girl placed her index finger on her cheek and tilted her head to the left, "And why are you bald, are you an old man?"

The creases above Sans' eyes became more noticeable as he grew more frustrated, "Yes I'm a monster, no I'm not old and I'm busy kid," he stacked the book in its correct order, "now scram."

All was quiet for a split second before the little girl decided to start throwing books.

"Oi would you cut that out?!" Sans turned at iron speed to face the child.

"Make me." She added and continued to throw books.

Sans' eye flashed red, a red aura surrounded the book which the child was about to throw.

"I said stop." Sans raised the book from the child's grasp and made all the other fallen books rise.

Getting ahead of task Sans let the books float up toward their respected places and packed them away.

"Woah..." The little girl jumped up and down in excitement, "Me next! Me next!"

"What? No." Sans' eye returned to normal.

"Listen skeleton if you don't make me float, I'll scream."

"Look kid." Sans teeth grit together as his patience was being tested.

"My name's not kid it's Liz now make me float!"

"Nah kid, what am I f*cking Pennywise?"

"And what am I mister, an adult?" Liz crossed her arms, "You shouldn't swear near a child."

"Kid," Sans put his hands together in a 'praying' motion and held them up to his chin, he brought his clasped palms down and used them to point at Liz, "Does it look like I care now, shoo."

Liz didn't care much for an understandable response, instead she followed her word.

And screamed.

Sans spun around in a small 360 circle in panic, he peeked around the corner of the bookcase he was currently at, his panic grew more as his boss was not so eagerly storming towards him.

"Sh*t!" He cursed and looked at the human child who only grinned, "Alright fine kid I'll be Pennywise and let you float too if you just-"

Taking a large breath, he mentally cursed to himself, 'I can't get fired, Y/n will be disappointed.'

"What's going on here?" The familiar, thick framed glasses wearing glared at Sans accusingly.

"Oh sorry Mister did I disturb you?" Liz played the innocent act as her head was tilted, feigning confusion, "I screamed because I found this!" Liz held up a pop up book about snails, "I've been looking for it everywhere!"

"Ah..." Sans' boss removed his gaze from Sans but that didn't stop him from disliking the monster, "Is that right?"

"Yep!" Liz held up the book above her head and cheerily jumped.

"Alright, just," he glared back at Sans then looked softly at Liz, "If anything or anyone's troubling you, let me know."

"I will!" Liz hugged the book in her arms, "Thanks mister!" she waved the manager off as he sceptically walked away.

"What the hell was that?" Sans crossed his arms, a 'bone brow' raised.

"I call that saving your ass," Liz threw the book down and glanced at her fingernails, "You're welcome by the way."

Not liking the sudden change of attitude and tone from the human child Sans mentally rolled his eyes, "You little bi-"

"I wouldn't finish that if I were you, boss-man is a scream away."

"Where the hell are your parents?"

"None of your business now," she pointed to Sans, "make me float."

Against his better judgement the skeletal monster's eye flashed red and an aura surrounded Liz, she was occasionally lifted up but only by a mere ten centre meters.

"You have no idea how much will it's taking me not to throw you across the room." Sans grumbled although it was inaudible to human ears.

Not even a minute of floating Liz was set back onto the ground.

"Now scram kid before my patience wears thin," Sans picked up a book and slammed it into its correct position, the noise echoed throughout the room, making those who weren't expecting that level of noise in a library, Liz being one of those, jump in shock.

"You're no fun anyway." Liz held her head high and walked away.

Before she was gone from Sans' sight, with his now red eye he used his telekinesis to make Liz walk into a pole, his eye quickly flashed back to normal as he returned to his work to avoid further suspicion.
