"SUMMER WE'VE GOT ONE DAY!" a female shouted down the phone.
"I'm so sorry, the phone's gone off all day" Summer replied apologetically.
""Just, pull, that phone, OUT! I don't have time for your PPI stories..." the woman seethed with a faux composure.
"No, it was condolences this time, only two PPI's" Summer claimed as she cut the other woman off.
"I DON'T CARE! JUST GET IT SORTED!" the woman yelled before abruptly hanging up.
Summer scanned through her Smartphone's browser.
"Please please please" she chanted as she selected a numbered hyperlink then placed the phone to her ear.
The phone rang...
"I'm sorry; you are current calling out of hours..."
"NO!" Summer shouted as she flung her phone beside her upon the sofa, cutting off the robotic voice. She stood up with fists clenched, rushed towards the door, grabbed a handbag near the exit, pulled the door open and left the building in haste.
Clad in yellow flannel pyjama bottoms, pink with white striped vest, fluffy boots and her black handbag; Summer roamed the isles of a large and quite supermarket.
"Excuse me" Summer called out towards the a woman in a suit pushing a trolley.
The woman looked towards Summer before she looked around.
"Are you speaking to me?" the woman asked.
"Yeah" Summer confirmed as she approached "Where are the flowers" she asked.
"Flowers are, that way, by the other entrance" the woman confirmed as she pointed behind Summer.
"Thanks" Summer said flatly as she followed the gesture.
Summer looked at the array of wilting flowers before her. She upturned her lips in a look of disgust as she shook her head.
"They'll have to do" she said out load as she reached for a bunch of red roses "OH CRAP!" she yelled as she stiffened "she said... What flowers do they want?" she questioned herself as she dropped her bag to the ground, crouched down and rooted through it "where's my phone?".
"Is everything OK?" a lady in a fleece waistcoat and a golden plaque at her breast asked as she approached.
"I forgot my phone! She text me with what they agreed on" Summer said as she looked towards the flowers above her.
"Do you need any help" the lady asked.
Summer rose, grabbed the bunch of roses before her left the isle.
Back in her home, Summer threw down her bag and carefully placed the roses down on the sofa beside her mobile, which she picked it up. She pressed a button, which animated the screen. The screen depicted 'one missed call'. Summer selected the notice.
"You gotta be joking!" Summer snapped towards the screen, which stated 'June' "I've been tryna get hold of you for since yesterday".
Summer chose to enter into her messages, she retrieved the message she wanted.
"Damn" she groaned as the screen stated 'at least 20 yellow roses' as she went limp in the sofa; forcing herself to relax.
Then...
The phone rang...
Summer hastily picked it up.
"Summer" a voice slowly uttered.
"Hey June" Summer said through exhaustion.
"Erm, May doesn't think you got the flowers, you did, didn't you?" June asked.
"I just did!" Summer said.
"You got the right ones didn't you?" June asked
"I got roses" Summer replied.
"You messed up didn't you Summer? The one job you had" June said in a blasé manner.
"Sorry I've been so busy, I'm taking this off shore telemarketing firm to court and..."
"Summer, we're trying to bury our mother!" June quietly snapped.
"Well, I know but..." Summer started.
"But nothing! This is more important" June snapped.
"You have no idea what it's like, this, harassment, I can't even focus on anything else, it's constant" Summer confessed
"Get over it!" June said flatly then hung up.
A black car lead a trail of matching vehicles, behind them, assorted cars followed. The first car stopped at a church on a main road. One young woman wearing corn-rowed purple extensions and a black trench-coat stepped out of the car, followed by an identical looking female; differences being her hair extensions were dark green, followed by summer, wearing a silky black two piece pants suit.
Sat in the church, the priest ended his segment with.
"Aprils daughter Summer has a few words to share with us" he stated as he looked in the direction of Summer and the matching females on either side of her.
Summer looked startled at his words, along with nervous at the prospect, though she warily left the pew and moved forward towards the podium.
Summer stood at the priests' position, she gazed at the sea of faces before her. Her gaze fixed on the two young women she had sat between, one gave a thumbs up and smiled whilst the other smiled and nodded her head.
Summer inhaled deeply and looked ahead of her.
She began to speak "My mother..."
Then...
The phone rang...
