George
"Bye, Clarkson!" I wave goodbye at him.
He stops at my front door and gives me a serious look.
"W-why?" I look at him to meet his gray gaze.
"You and... Mister Greyson are that close," he speaks.
"Oh," I bit my lips before continuing my sentence. "It's probably because we started as neighbors, not professors and students," I explain.
He nods and turns his back.
"B-bye!" I yell.
He waves goodbye and rides on his white motorcycle.
"We're not close," I mutter.
I close the door and stare at the pile of papers Jared's hands over.
Sigh.
I see some writings on my classmates' output.
'Your straight lines aren't straight lines.'
'.__.'
'Focus on your curve lines.'
'You call these lines?'
My eyebrows furrow after reading his blunt comments.
I immediately search for my paper to check how harsh his comment would be.
'Nice.'
That's what I see.
I don't know why, but I feel very happy with that one-word comment by him.
"Maybe that's sarcasm—"
I pause after seeing a reply to my question that I almost forgot.
'Why are you here?'
'I'm looking for the lost wolf.' He wrote in neat handwriting.
"I'm looking for a lost wolf," I whisper as I hand the papers that Jared ask me to return.
"Bianca," I say as I look around.
"Here," Bianca.
'You could've practice drawing than doing that winged eyeliner.' I read Jared's comment on her paper.
I look at their output. Some aren't really that horrible. Jared is just harsh with his remarks.
Our professor comes. I stopped handing out their papers and go back to my seat.
"Your boyfriend has no filter," Shane says while looking at her paper.
"Your work is beautiful and neat though," I say.
Once our morning class ends, we step out of the room. We go out to eat.
"I know!" Shane yells as we walk to our next class.
"She should be nice to you," Clarkson comments in Shane's rant about her roommate.
I frown after remembering what was written below my question on my returned output.
I decided to Google for some answers. My lazy self only typed, 'Vampires Wolf.'
'Werewolf.'
'Werewolf vs. Vampires'
That's what I read after clicking the search button.
"Werewolf," I read out loud. "Oh, my goodness. What would happen next? Werewolf invasion?" I exclaim. My mouth gapes.
"Werewolf invasion???" Shane asks in confusion. "What are you saying?"
I sharply move my gaze at them.
I almost forgot that they're still with me. Shane gives me a confused look and raises an eyebrow. Clarkson looks at me as well and takes a bite from his hamburger.
"O-oh, I'm actually reading some fiction story. The scene was intense," I lie.
"A story about a Werewolf?" Clarkson tilts his head to the side.
I just nod in response.
"What's the story all about?" he asks and peeks at my phone. His gray gaze stares at me.
"Um, the part that I'm reading...." I bite the bottom of my lips and think. "The vampire is looking for a werewolf–"
"Girl, I thought you are listening to my rant, but you are busy with your Edward Cullen fanfics," Shane complains.
Clarkson stares at me for a while. He moves his gaze back to Shane.
"So, what happens next?" Clarkson asks Shane.
"I just saw my shirt stained with marinara sauce!" Shane slams the table. "I rushed towards her. I'm like, look at what you did! This is my favorite shirt!" Shane says while waving her bag of chips.
"What did your roommate do after that?" Clarkson asks in curiosity. He rests his chin on his left hand, getting interested in Shane's rant.
"She said, 'Oh, I didn't mean it. I'm sorry.' Then she said she'll wash it. I can sense that she doesn't like me as her roommate. Well, sis same." Shane speaks quickly and rolls her eyes. "How about you? How's having a roommate? Aren't you shocked or something?" Shane asks him in a worried tone.
"We're... fine," he hesitantly answers.
"Is there anything you hate about your roommate?" Shane asks him.
"We're close," Clarkson casually says.
"Really? That's good to know then," I say.
"He's just... intimidating," Clarkson replies. "He doesn't talk too much. He's not always in our dorm, though."
Shane slams the table.
"Oh, my–stop slamming the damn table!" I yell at Shane.
"I swear Georgina, adopt me," Shane holds my shoulders. "Like, I can clean your apartment. Does Aunt Liz want another niece?"
"You have to pay rent," I say.
"Okay," Shane nods.
"And, do my laundry," I add while pointing at my fingers, and counting the tasks. "And cook... and–"
"What? That's too much!" she says and pouts.
"Why aren't you staying in a dorm?" Clarkson asks.
"Because I am only fifteen minutes away from the University," I explain.
"Oh, right," he says and nods.
"Let me ask Aunt Liz about... adopting you," I look at Shane.
"Really?" Shane's eyes widen.
I nod and smile.
"Thank you!" Shane claps happily.
"Don't be so sure, though," I say to her.
"How about me? Adopt me as well," Clarkson asks and pouts.
"Nuh-uh, no boys allowed," Shane says to him playfully.
'Werewolf'
I continue Googling things about werewolves.
'Werewolves are, according to some legends, people who morph into vicious, powerful wolves.'
'The society of werewolves is based on the pack.'
'Just like wolf packs, werewolf packs are led by one strong leader, most of the time male, but sometimes female.'
"... I heard an alarm at 4:30, but she didn't wake up. Like sis, Imma hit you so hard with that thing! Our class starts at 10:00. I should be sleeping right now!" Shane rants.
I scroll more and see lots of werewolf photos.
"Oohhh, that's one hot werewolf right there, Honey," Shane says while looking at my phone.
Clarkson also looks at my phone and frowns.
I immediately hide my phone away from them.
"Did the vampire find the werewolf?" Clarkson asks.
"Huh?" my eyes widen while looking at him.
"You said you're reading a story," Clarkson says and frowns.
"Not yet–"
"George!" I hear a familiar masculine voice.
"Andrew!" Shane exclaims.
He walks towards our table. He wears a plain navy blue shirt and a pair of cargo shorts.
It's been a while, Andrew.
"I thought I wouldn't see you here," Andrew says to me and smiles. "Funny that we're in the same University, but we don't see each other," he sits beside me.
I look at him and trail the stubble on his sharp jawline. The dark circles under his honey-brown eyes emphasize his sleepless gaze. His familiar scent dominates my senses.
We're over.
What? Babe, why?
I'm not your 'Babe' anymore!
"Hello? I'm also here?" Shane says while waving her hands at us.
I quickly look away. My gaze lands on Clarkson, who stares at Andrew intently.
Andrew chuckles, "Hi, Shane."
I miss you.
"This is Clarkson, one of our classmates," Shane gestures her hands at Clarkson.
"Hi, I'm Drew, Geor—" he pauses and clears his throat, "their high-school friend," he continues and smiles at Clarkson.
"Hi!" Clarkson greets and scratches the side of his neck.
"How are you doing?" I ask him.
He breathes out, "College is insane! The workload is no joke," Andrew exclaims and rakes his fingers through his messy brown hair.
"I know, right!" Shane agrees.
"I remembered that I almost entered the wrong class," he laughs. "I couldn't find room 215A."
"I think Georgie is the only one not struggling here," Shane says.
"H-hey!" I glare at her. "I'm struggling too!"
"Struggling at?"
At my neighbor, turned professor, turned vampire.
I just roll my eyes at her. I haven't told her about Jared. She would probably think I'm getting crazy or something if I did. No one would take me seriously if I say something like, 'You know what? My professor is a vampire.'
"One of our professors, who's intimidating, I mean intimidating, gave us harsh remarks," she gives me a meaningful look. Then, she slaps the table, "But she got 'Nice' as a remark!" Shane exclaims. "I received something like, 'This is not the curve line that I knew.' Like, what the hell?!" Shane yells and continues venting out about Jared.
His remarks are very harsh. He encircles every mistake on your paper with a red pen. I also received some. I'm not perfect.
"I'm looking for the lost wolf," I softly say.
"What if the dog is dangerous?"
"Your lovely and adorable looking fur-ball may transform into a beast."
"Don't be blinded by the looks, George. You never know when would they bite."
"The dogs that I know couldn't be tamed."
Is that why he said those?
The dogs that I know couldn't be tamed.
Andrew and Shane catch up together while I'm still thinking about what could possibly happen next in this vampire story I'm reading.
