Alexander knew by the tone in Eliza's voice that she was serious about what she needed to tell him. He also knew that he needed to leave work as fast as he could.

"Sir, can I head out early for the day? I finished everything I needed to." Alexander spoke frantically to Washington.

Washington stood from his desk, looking at Alexander.

"Well, sure son. Just don't make a habit of leaving early." He said as he sat back down.

Alexander nodded and quickly left the building, getting in his car and rushing to the Schuyler home.

Once he arrived, he knocked on the door, expecting Eliza to answer, but was instead met with Angelica.

"Ange. Hey, where's Eliza? She called me, it seemed important." Alex spoke, concern in his voice.

Angelica looked him up and down and nodded, slowly becoming unsure of him. "She's out back in the garden." Angelica muttered as she lead Alexander in.

Just as he was about to walk out the back door, Angelica grabbed him by the shirt.

"Don't you dare make my sister cry, got it?"

Alex froze for a second before he nodded "I won't."

Angelica nodded and walked away, leaving Alexander to his Eliza.

Alex slowly walked up to Eliza, who was sitting on a marble bench.

"Liza? Is everything okay?" He asked softly, putting his hand on her shoulder and sitting next to her.

Eliza looked up at him, her eyes were red and slightly puffy. She grabbed his free hand, squeezing it firmly.

"At first, I thought it was just my body, you know, sometimes they get all out of whack, but then one week became two, and then two and a half, and and I've been sick in the mornings and wanting really weird things and-"

Eliza spoke, trying to hold back anymore tears. She looked at Alexander. His eyes were soft and sorrowful, he pulled her in closer, singling her to go on.

"And I finally took the test, and it was positive, Alex. I'm pregnant." Eliza said, bringing to cry again

All Alexander could do was embrace her affectionately, and let her cry into his shoulder.

After a silence between the two, Alexander finally found the words to say.

"Eliza, we'll be okay. Don't you worry about a thing. I'll provide. I'll get a better job. I'll take care of you and our child." He said and looked at her.

"I love you. And a baby? This is great. Yeah, you're young, but it's okay. You'll be a great mother."

Eliza smiled at her boyfriend, wiping her tears, and placing a kiss on his cheek.

"Whatever you want or need, just tell me."

"Just stay, that would be enough." Eliza said and nestled her head into the crook of his neck.

The two sat outside in a comfortable silence for most of the night.
