Naruto's POV

"Rei... Reika-chan... stop..." I choked out as she continued to strangle me. I wrapped my hands around her wrist, trying to get her to let go of me. I was starting to see stars. "Reika, no!" Reika was yanked off me and restrained by Kakashi.

"Get off me! Don't touch me!" Reika yelled as she thrashed around in his hold. She bit his arm, causing him to let go of her. "Never put your filthy hands on me again!" She snapped before jumping out the window.

"Reika-san! Come back!" I called. "Let her go, Naruto." Kakashi said. "But what about Reika-san?" I asked. "You just need to give her some space." He said. I looked out the window, trying to find out where Reika-san went.

"Reika-san..." I said, wind blowing the leaves to another direction. I wonder where she went?

Reika's POV

"Humans.... They should all just drop dead." I muttered angrily. When I was far away from the house, I stopped near a lake. I stripped off my clothes and dipped myself into the lake. They shouldn't find me here. After all, this place is hidden behind a waterfall.

I let out a relaxed sigh as I stared up at the sky. "It's way too quiet." I murmured before closing my eyes. "I don't think this is the best time for you to be falling asleep just yet." I frowned and opened my eyes.

"What do you want, Kabuto?" I demanded. "Here," He threw something at me and I caught it with one hand. "A scroll?" I asked bluntly. "Your assignment." He stated. "Another assignment? I thought my assignment was to get the information about Itachi Uchiha?" I asked.

"Well, that was half of your assignment. Speaking of which, how'd it go?" Kabuto asked. "I hate that woman. She charges too much," I frowned as I opened the scroll, looking it over.

"You want me to find out where the Hokage keeps his hidden scrolls? That sounds way too complicated for my taste." I mentioned. "Never thought I'd hear those words come out of your mouth. Anyway, are you going to do the assignment?" He asked.

"Maybe. But does that mean I have to go back to her?"

"That's entirely up to you."

"Ugh. Why does it have to be me that goes see her? Can't Tayuya or some other girl from the hideout go see her?"

"Apparently not. They don't really enjoy Hime's company."

"Oh, kill me now."

I sighed heavily and sunk myself into the water. Talk about bullshit. "Fine, I'll go see her tonight. Seeing her twice in the afternoon is a fucking handful." I said bitterly. I got out of the water and stepped onto the grass.

"I almost forgot to tell you. We're getting close to the next stage of the plan." He informed.

"So?"

"What's this? I thought you'd be excited about Phase 2 of the plan."

"I'm just tired, okay? I'm not really in the mood to be excited."

"That's surprising, coming from a cat."

I froze in place as I glanced at him a glare. "You're about to be one dead boy, you know that?" I mentioned. "Yeah, yeah. Just put your clothes on." Kabuto said. "You talk like you've never seen a naked girl before." I noticed.

"No, I just never seen a naked cat before." Kabuto defended. "You're seuch a perv, Kabuto." I said as I put on my clothes. Once I was fully dressed, I followed Kabuto into the village. "So, when am I going back to the hideout?" I asked.

"Soon." Kabuto answered. I sighed. "Hey, Kabuto. Are you gay for Orochimaru?" I asked. He paused and looked at me.

"What?"

"I said, are you gay for Orochimaru?"

"Why?"

"Because you killed a specimen when he said he should be Orochimaru's servant instead of you, and that's when I was ten and I still remember it."

"That doesn't mean I'm gay."

"I think you are."

"I'm not."

"Are too."

"Reika, do you want me to cut off your ear?"

"Do you want me to cut off your hair?"

Kabuto and I stopped arguing when we heard chuckling. "You two fight as if you're siblings. It's cute." Orochimaru said as he appeared before us. "Lord Orochimaru," Kabuto and I said in sync. We both bowed our heads in respect.

"Lord Orochimaru, when can we go home? I hate this village." I said. He chuckled before petting my head. "Soon, Reika. Our plan is almost complete." He said. I sighed. "You said that on the last mission." I mumbled.

"Reika, I would like you to go check on Sasuke for me." Orochimaru requested. "Let me guess: He's your next vessel?" I assumed. "Such a smart kitten." He commented. I sighed and pulled on my hood before heading towards the hospital.

When I got there, I went to the nurse at the front desk. "I'm looking for Sasuke Uchiha's room. Tell me his room number." I ordered. "Are you a relative of his?" She asked. "No." I answered bluntly.

"I'm sorry, miss. But only relatives are allowed to see him." She said with a smile. I rolled my eyes and yanked the book from in front of her. "Hey!" I ignored her as I searched for Sasuke's name and room number.

When I found it, I tossed it back to her. "Thanks for nothing." I said before heading down the hallway. "Hey, you can't do that! Miss! Hey!" The nurse called. Man, why are humans so loud? I went into Sasuke's room only to see him not there.

"Great. He's gone." I muttered. His scent's still here, so I could still find him. I grabbed the sheets and held it up to my nose. Ugh, this things smells. Once I got his scent, I went out the window and began my search for the Uchiha.

I found him walking towards a cliff. "Oi, Uchiha." I called. He turned around to look at me. "Reika? Where have you been?" He asked. "Killing Naruto." I said casually.

"You killed him?"

"No, but I would've if Kakashi hadn't stopped me."

"Why are you here then?"

"Because I want to. Are you feeling better?"

"Yeah, a little. Why?"

"No reason. Bye."

I quickly left and headed towards the bar. I don't need the info now. I just come here whenever I feel like it. "Reika-san!" I turned my head, seeing Rock Lee and his team. "Oh, great. You're here." I said bitterly.

"You do not have to be so mean, Reika-san." Lee said. "What do you want? More importantly, what are you doing here?" I demanded. "I want to introduce you to my team. Reika-san, this is Tenten, Neiji Hyuga, and my sensei, Might Guy." Lee introduced.

"Nice to meet you." Tenten said with a smile. I frowned and turned away from them. "Get lost." I said coldly. "I apologize for Reika's behavior. She's just not used to people." Lee defended. "No, I just don't like you people." I said bluntly before sipping my sake.

"Reika, is that your name? Why don't you like us?" Neji asked. "Like I have to tell you." I said. "I see you have a bad attitude. Sounds to me like you woke up on the wrong side of the bed this morning." Neji said.

"Are you trying to start something, Hyuga?" I demanded. "Come on, guys. Don't fight. Maybe we just got off on the wrong foot." Tenten said. "Quit trying to pick a fight with me, human. You'll just lose." I said to Neji, ignoring Tenten.

"Oh, and is that a fact?" Neji challenged. I had a kunai knife behind my back, ready to stab this asshole. "Reika!" I looked towards the entrance of bar, spotting Hime.

"There you are, Reika. Please excuse my daughter. She hasn't had much sleep last night, so you can understand why she's in a grumpy mood." Hime lied. 'Daughter?' I thought with a deadpan expression.

"Oh, and I see you've been drinking, Reika. You know you're not supposed to drink sake. But I forgot that you drink when you're stressed. Come on, I'll take you home." Hime said as she pulled me forward, but I stayed where I was.

"Look, Reika. I'm aware that you're angry and you want to let off some steam right now, but you can't and you know why." She whispered to me. I frowned at her words.

"Listen, Kabuto asked me to check on you so you won't make any dumb mistakes, and this is one of them. Now quit being stubborn and just follow me. Do you really want to expose your power here?" Hime asked.

I gritted my teeth so I wouldn't curse. "Damn." I mumbled. Hime let out a fake laugh and dragged me towards the exit. "And don't you ever drink alcohol again, young lady! You hear!" Hime said. "You're such a God-awful actress," I mentioned, face palming.

"Just play along." She whispered. I sighed and decided to go along with it. "Oh, shut the hell up!" I said, shoving her away. "Man, you're strong. That hurt." Hime said so only I could hear her. We walked away from the bar and headed towards her house.

When we got there, she lead me to her room. "Here," Hime handed one of her shirt that was, surprisingly, my size. "Your clothes are a bit dirty and they're pretty hard to look at. Change out of it." Hime said.

I rolled my eyes and took off my shirt, then put on the shirt she gave me. "Why do I get the feeling you're not going to let me off the hook so easily?" I asked. "That's because I'm not. I just helped you and I think you should get something in return." She said.

"And that would be..?" I asked. She smirked. "I think you already know."

I frowned. "You're such a slut," I stood up and walked to her door. "I have to see you tonight anyway, so wait until then, okay?" I said before walking out the door. I went back to my own house. "Zoey!" I called.

She came running towards me and jumped on my shoulder. I gently stroked her head, down to her back. "I'm gonna go on the record and say that you were sleeping this whole time." I said. She meowed in respond.

I gave a small smile and headed to my bedroom. I lied down on my bed, staring up at the ceiling. I fell asleep as my hand rested on Zoey's back.

(Dream)

I don't care about humans. They're nothing but worthless trash. I ran through the village, killing every human in sight. You all will pay for what you did to my brother. I am going to avenge his death. All of you will suffer what he had to suffer.

I've killed almost every human. All that's left was Naruto. I stared down at him as he was on the ground, staring up at me in fear. "Re-Reika-san... why?" He asked. "Why not? You killed my brother." I said as I lifted my katana, preparing to swing it down on his head.

"Please, Reika-san. Stop." Naruto pleaded. I swung my katana down on his head, but I didn't let it touch him. It was held a few inches above his head. What's wrong with me? Why am I hesitating to kill this human?

I must avenge my brother. He needs to be avenged. So why can't I... kill this boy? "Reika-san, what's the matter?" Naruto asked me. I took a step back with a frown. "Stay away from me, human!" I snapped. "Why?" He asked.

"Don't play dumb! I know what you're trying to do!" I said. "But I- Ah!" I gasped when a katana blade was driven through his stomach. Naruto coughed up blood before falling on the ground, onto his stomach. I looked up to see who killed him.

It was me. I killed him.

(End of Dream)

"Naruto!" I shot up from the bed as I screamed his name in panic. Zoey looked at me before meowing, asking me what's wrong. I panted slightly as I placed a hand over the left side of my face. "Naruto!" I said with worry.

I jumped out of bed and ran out the door, looking for Naruto. "Naruto!" I called when I spotted him in his room. "Hey, Reika-san. What's up?" He asked. I sighed in relief, seeing that he was all right. "Why are you all sweaty, Reika-san? Have you been training?" Naruto asked.

I walked over to him and wrapped my arms around his head and bringing him to my chest. "R-R-Reika-san? H-Hey! What are you-!" Naruto panicked from my sudden action. By I don't care. I'm just glad he was okay.

Naruto's POV

"Uh... Reika-san?" I glanced up at her, confused. "Just stay quiet, okay?" Reika requested. "Uh..." I couldn't stop my blush from forming on my face. Reika-san felt so warm, I could close my eyes and fall asleep.

"Naruto."

"Yes, Reika-san?"

"You're still my comrade, right?"

"Of course!"

"Even if I have these on my head?"

Reika-san let go of me and removed her hood, revealing her cat ears. I smiled at her. "I don't care that you're a cat, Reika-san. You're my friend." I said to her. "Friend?" She repeated, staring into my eyes. "Yeah, friend." I said, smiling.

"But I... don't know how to be friends with anyone." She said. "Well, you can start by being friends with me." I said. She shook her head. "I can't. Don't ask me why. I just can't." Reika-san said. I sighed.

"I know! Maybe we can just be acquainted with each other!" I suggested happily. "I guess that could work." Reika-san said with a shrug. I smiled. "Ne, Reika-san. Can I pet your ears now?" I asked.

She looked at me with a slight frown, then looked around, making sure no one was around. "Fine, all right." Reika said. I grinned and reached to pet her ears, but I paused. "It's okay. You can touch them." Reika-san said, giving me permission.

I smiled and petted her ears. Reika-san closed her eyes and let out a purr of content as she blushed slightly. She actually looked kind of cute when she blushed. Now if only I can get her to smile more often.

Reika-san pulled her hood back over her head and stood up. "I have to go now. I'll see you tomorrow. Okay, Naruto?" She said with a wink. I nodded my head and she left. I gasped, realizing something.

Reika-san called me by my first name again. I smiled. Maybe there is a way to get through her brick walled heart. But I'm only getting passed it, little by little. Will she finally open to me and the rest of the team? I hope so.
