Chapter Seventy-Two
Channing jumped out of the back of the rolls royce as it stopped out the front of his house, the house he shared with Hannah, the house he shared with her kids, the house he was shared with her dad, the house that he shared with the twins.
"You knew!" Channing screamed as Bill stepped out of the front door. "You knew and you didn't tell me!"
Bill closed the front door behind him.
"How could you not tell me! You let me believe that your daughter actually loved me."
Bill didn't flinch as Channing stopped in front of him "Sit."
"No. Why didn't you tell me."
Bill sighed softly before stepping to the front steps of the houses, he calmly sat down.
Channing breathed slowly before allowing himself to sit next to Bill.
"It wasn't my place to tell you. It was my daughter's. She created this mess; all I could do was encourage her to tell you." Bill looked at Channing.
"What about the twins? I don't even know if their mine." Channing could feel his voice tremble.
"Hannah assured me that they are yours."
"She assured me she loved me. Clearly that was a lie." Channing breathed.
Bill could easily see the damage that Hannah had caused to the man sitting beside him, he watched as Channing couldn't hide his sniffles nor could Channing stop the tears from rolling down his cheeks "Every time I talked to Hannah about you, she spoke differently. With you she seemed like she genuinely loved you. With Alytain, she had to create this lie. That guy doesn't even know her as Hannah."
Channing understood the first sentence but not the second sentence Bill spoke.
"With you, her and I knew we could trust you. I knew that I had no reason to hold any hard feelings against you. With Alytain, the day Hannah told me she was pregnant with Harley, the day she told me that Alytain knows her as Belle." Bill shook his head.
"She said Belle, not him." Channing absent mildly spoke.
"What did Hannah tell you?"
Channing wiped his face "That Alytain was Belle's husband and that she lied to me."
Bill nodded slightly "I think I should tell you everything." He knew Hannah couldn't tell Channing everything, Bill knew Hannah would be too busy trying to undo her lies with Alytain.
Bill hated that he was going to be one the bearer of bad news after bad news but knew, Channing needed to know everything from the beginning without Hannah's sugar-coated words.
