"Alana?" Jeffrey goes to her and picks her up.

"Jeffrey," Alana holds onto him and hides her face into his chest.

Jeffrey doesn't like the shaking he's feeling from her. "It's alright, Alana. You make the choice that you need to make. Don't think about any one else at this time. I won't have you marry me just because you think you should to help me. You would be sacrificing far too much for me and receiving too little in return." Jeffrey hates the idea of anything else though, and hopes that she will still choose that option.

"But, if I don't marry you, then you will be weaker than the prince." Alana doesn't like the idea of Jeffrey going in as the underdog.

Jeffrey snorts in derision. "Demons, especially the higher ranking ones, tend to be arrogant. They are generally stronger than their opponents." Jeffrey shrugs, "It doesn't matter. Vampires are usually weaker than demons, yet nine times out of ten we will prevail over them. If we don't then another will take out the demon, usually while it is celebrating it's victory."

Jeffrey strokes her hair to calm her down. "I have been the underdog on many fights against demons. I haven't lost a fight yet." Jeffrey looks away from all those in the room.

Alana looks at the others in confusion. Finally Chronos speaks, "I was not the first of father's children, just the oldest of those that he's made that has survived." Alana's eyes widen in understanding and she holds Jeffrey not knowing what else to do to give him comfort. "I lost several older siblings before we found the best way to fight them. Still lost many over the centuries in fights, but fewer than before."

"Then how can you tell me to not marry you, Jeffrey? It will give you more power, help you defeat the prince." Alana asks softly still holding to Jeffrey.

"I might be a selfish bastard, Alana, but to tie you to me for possibly centuries, just so I have a better chance to defeat my enemy? No, I'm not that selfish. You deserve someone far better than me at your side."

By now Jeffrey has turned and is facing Alana. She demands, "Who? Who would be better to protect me? Who would be better to help me? The angels? They are already coming to you for help, to do what they can't, protect me and take down the one that is hunting me.

"Or perhaps there is a human that would do a better job?" Alana says releasing him and easing away. She's more than a little hurt that after all Jeffrey has done for her, that he doesn't want her help in return.

Jeffrey stiffens at her words. The idea of a human touching her, it makes him angry.

"I was going to tell you that if you wanted, I would marry you..." before she could say anything else Jeffrey has her in his arms and is kissing her.

Carried away in kissing her they forget about the interested parties watching until one of the others in the room clears their throat rather noisily. "I think, perhaps we should hold the ceremony before things go any further." Jeshua says rather dryly.

Alana blushes furiously as she backs away from Jeffrey a bit. "I forgot we had an audience." She whispers mortified at what just happened. "Jeffrey, I can't."

Jeffrey turns from glaring at the angels to Alana once more. "You can't what? Marry me?"

"I can't marry you if the angels are here and I can't see them. I'm sorry, I know that they risked a great deal to rescue me, but it's hard to trust someone you can't even see."

Jeffrey pulls her back into his arms and turns to glare at the angels. "Yes, I fully understand how you feel." It's the reason he wouldn't let them enter into his house as long as they were invisible.

The sound of thunder rumbles loudly as if in the very room. Scared Alana screams and Jeffrey holds her tighter. Jeffrey soothes her and does his best to calm her down. "It's alright, Alana, it was just the angels boss, the Creator."

Once Alana settles down a bit Jeffrey once more glares at the angels, "What did He say?"

Michael is less than pleased but answers Jeffrey. "He ordered us to show ourselves to Alana. He also said, that she would receive her powers, all but one of them, even if she doesn't accept marriage with you. The powers are already starting to open to her. The last one will only be released once she is married and certain conditions are met."

"What conditions?" Alana asks peeking around Jeffrey's shoulder. She gasps at the two males that she can now see. "You are beautiful."

"Thank you, Miss Matthews. He didn't tell us what the conditions are. He did say that it would be possible that they would never be met. He also said that He was giving you the same power over your body as Jeffrey has, you and you alone will be able to determine when or even if you have a child. Not even Jeffrey would be able to decide. You would decide who the father would be in this manner."

"Well, I guess that answers that problem then, doesn't it?" Hag says cheerfully. The others look at her and she just gives them a smirk in return.

"What else did he say?" Jeffrey demands.

The two angels look at each other before looking at Jeffrey. "He told us of a possible human servant for you, but says to have the marriage first if you are going to get married. She is dying, but she will live long enough for the ceremony to finish first."

"Jeffrey, if you would rather me be your mistress, we can do that. If my supposed powers will unlock any way, I will be able to learn them and fight alongside of you. That way you won't have to tie yourself to me."

Jeffrey looks at her softly, "You would do that for me? Forgo being my wife and be my mistress instead so that I won't be tied down by you?"

"You've done so much for me already and have lost so much over the years. I don't want to make things more difficult for you. If me being your mistress will do that, then I'll do that instead."

"And if I said that I would prefer to marry you, what would you say?" Jeffrey finds that he still wants her to choose marriage, even though this last option would allow her far more freedom.

Alana smiles brightly at him. "I don't think I would have a hard time marrying you, Jeffrey. I just don't want you to feel that you have to marry me. I know the main reason you did before was because you didn't want to kill me."

"Alana, would you do me the honor of marrying me and being my wife for the rest of our lives?"

Alana gives him another brilliant smile and jumps into his arms. "I will."
