She smirks

Vanessa: Miss me?

She pushes past me and walks in

Me: What are you doing here?
Vanessa: Well your hoe's gone right, so you're gonna need company

She raises one eyebrow, I shake my head still holding the door open

Me: Leave, oh and the only hoe around here is you
Vanessa: Cmon babe

She gets up, comes over to me and puts her hands on my chest and whispers in me ear

Vanessa: Like old times

I take a step back away from her

Me: Why are you here? How did you even know Ari was gone?
Vanessa: I know people
Me: Where you watching the house?
Vanessa: What?
Me: Where you..watching..the house?
Vanessa: Why would you even ask that?
Me: Because Ari didn't even know she was leaving until like a few hours ago so how would you have known?
Vanessa: Have you missed me?
Me: Answer my question
Vanessa: What question?
Me: What the f**k are you doing here and how did you know Ari wasn't here?!
Vanessa: I miss you is that a crime? And I've told you I know people
Me: No, you don't miss me Vanessa you're bored. You're Vanessa Hudgens you don't miss guys you f**k around with, you just say you do to f**k with their heads

I laugh a little

Me: Wow that is the best fake speech I think I've ever heard
Vanessa: What's so funny? I'm serious
Me: Alrighty that's enough of you, bye bye

I gently put my hands on her upper arms and guide her out of the house

Vanessa: Fine, deny your feelings. I know you still love me and I'm going to prove it, oh you still didn't answer my question
Me: What question?
Vanessa: Did you miss me?
Me: Why would I miss you? You're nothing to me, you never were you were just a booty call kinda like a free hooker...b-bye

I shut the door in her face, go in the living room and sit down

Me*to myself*: Crazy bi**h

A few hours later

I get a text from Ari

Just landed, flight was fine (:
Missing you already :(

I smile at her text

I wake up from an unexpected nap to the sound of the doorbell. It's dark outside so I check my phone to see the time, 8:24. The door bell rings again, I sigh and get up and open it.

Me: What do you want Vanessa?

She has her head in her hands, she doesn't answer me she just starts crying. I rub my eyes and sigh again.

Me: That's not going to work, you take drama class I know you know how to fake cry.

She looks at me with red eyes, a bloody lip and mascara running down her face.

Her*sniffs and teary voice*: I-I'm not faking Justin

She steps inside and hugs me burying her head in my chest while crying. I roll my eyes, close the door and put my arms around her.

Me: Cmon, lets go in the living room and you can tell me what's happened

I walk with her to the living room and sit her down next to me handing her a tissue.

Me: Okay what happened
Her*crying and hyperventilating*: He-he *tries to breathe* he found me
Me: Shh calm down, he who? Who's he?
Vanessa*trying to calm down*: S-Sean

I roll my eyes and sigh

Me: What do you mean he found you?
Her: I was walking home from here and I took a different route home an...he um he came out the shadows and grabbed me and pushed me against some wall...he, he was punching me in the stomach and my face
Me: Why?

She shrugs

Vanessa: He asked me out a few weeks ago but I said no
Me: Oh
Her: I don't wanna be alone tonight

I look at her she does seem genuinely scared, I've never seen her like this before. I look at her and rub the back of my neck.

Me: Uh..you can stay here..

She looks at me and smiles

Her: Really?
Me: I guess

She kisses my cheek

Her: Thanks, can I um go clean myself up?
Me: Sure the bathroom is upstairs 2nd door on your right
Her: Thanks

She gets up and walks out smiling, I watch her confused and sit back on the couch.

30 minutes later

Vanessa comes down in one of my shirts and I assume Ari's underwear, she gets on the couch and cuddles into me.

Me: Uh..hi?
Her: Hey baby
Me: You're good on the couch tonight right?
Her: The couch?
Me: Yeah, why?
Her: I mean yeah that's good thanks
Me: Well you're not staying in any of the spare rooms because I don't trust you and you're not staying in our I mean Mine an Ari's room because I don't trust you. So the further away from me you are the better.
Her: Wow way to make a girl feel wanted
Me: But you're not, I never asked you to come here you just turned up on my doorstep like some stray animal.

She gets up and looks at me

Her*teary voice*: Fine! I'll go! Im sorry I came into your life. I'm sorry I actually thought people give a s**t about me. Im sorry I'm worthless I'm sorry Im a f**k up. I deserve what Sean did I'm just a worthless b***h I-I..

She puts her head in her hands and breaks down, I look at her and sigh maybe I've been a bit harsh on her. I know what Sean's like, he's evil. If she's telling the truth then he's not finished with her. I thought he was in prison he must have got out early or something. I get up and put my arms around her.

Me: Sshh shh it's okay it's okay..

I hold her while she cries in my arms, she hugs me back tight. I look at her, she looks back at me with puffy eyes and wet cheeks, I wipe them.

Her: I love you Justin...

I nod

Vanessa: ..Say it back...tell me you love me Justin...
Me: I can't lie to you, I'm in love with Ari...just Ari...sorry

She kisses my lips softly.
I step away without kissing her back.

Me: I'm going to bed, I'll throw a spare blanket and pillow downstairs

I walk out and go upstairs

Vanessa: Justin...I'm sorry

I ignore her and call Ari on FaceTime.
